AnimeMania February 14 Share February 14 The events leading up to Errol’s 2011 arrest reveal a hidden history. Premiere Date: February 14, 2024 Apple TV+ Link to comment
Snazzy Daisy February 15 Share February 15 This episode is filled with structured flashbacks of how Errol Mathis came to his confession. Daniel is retelling the whole story to June in the present. Daniel & co. were shown to be facing enormous pressure to solve Adelaide Burrows’ murder and to make example out of Errol. At first, Daniel wasn’t sure that Errol was the killer. He demanded more facts and history of violence from his crew. They conducted the investigation by the book until Daniel decided to play dirty towards the end. Errol was emotionally manipulated to confess to the looting and Adelaide’s murder. These narratives are told from Daniel’s perspective. He mentioned nothing about drugging Errol, of course. Did Errol lie to June and Sonya about this? Probably devastated by Doris’ death, Sonya has leaked Carla’s emergency call to the public. Daniel will perceive this move as a backstabbing effort after his “confession” to June. Things are about to get nastier. This episode has led us to believe that Daniel isn’t evil but just a man under enormous pressure to secure a conviction in a high profile case while dealing with personal challenges. He bends some rules but he doesn’t seem to be protecting the killer etc. Quote “There are things that nobody teaches you. Things that are just understood. And sometimes, if you have to go the extra mile… well, there’s no shame in that.” Link to comment

Daniel changed his mind after Errol's dad told him about him stabbing him in stomach in a fit of rage (while being high). Until this point Daniel kept insisting that there was no proof of Errol being violent towards anyone but seeing the scar convinced him that Daniel was indeed guilty and in his mind justified playing dirty to get the confession. All along the way they showed very clearly that unlike his two subordinates he is not racist and actually a really good cop. 2 Link to comment

Daniel got the history of violence that he’s been looking for based on 2 instances - Errol stabbed his dad once and Errol repeatedly yelling “I’ll knock you flat” in his argument with Adelaide, witnessed by young Patrick. 2 hours ago, meira.hand said: but seeing the scar convinced him that Daniel was indeed guilty and in his mind justified playing dirty to get the confession. You mean - Errol was indeed guilty? Link to comment
