Raja November 23, 2023 Share November 23, 2023 A biographical historical show focused on the chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington where Reverend King delivers the remembered line "I have a dream". That Mr. Rustin also happened to be gay and powerful folks used that knowledge against him should bring new insights on that march 1 Link to comment
Spartan Girl November 23, 2023 Share November 23, 2023 It is good! I never knew about Rustin until now. It’s a somewhat depressing reminder that even marginalized groups aren’t immune to their own prejudice. Link to comment
AngieBee1 November 24, 2023 Share November 24, 2023 Excellent film and Colman Domingo is incredible; just wish it was longer. They really rushed through the final act. Bayard's story deserved more meat. Loved seeing all of these great figures in the movement portrayed like A. Philip Randolph and Cleve Robinson. 1 Link to comment
Raja November 24, 2023 Share November 24, 2023 I guess where the board of directors supported Mr. Rustin when Congressman Adam Clayton Powell and the radio news of Senator Strom Thurmond attacking was the apex of the story. The actual march being an epilog that if you didn't know the history Mr. Rustin pulled it off. Link to comment
