Obituary is a 6 episode Dark Comedy TV Series streaming on November 21, 2023 on Hulu. Obituary has already aired in Ireland on RTÉ One in September 2023.

Filmed and set in the rural west of Ireland, Obituary follows 24-year-old Elvira Clancy, a journalist who is feeling a little unfulfilled, although she adores her new job writing obituaries for a local newspaper in the small-town of Kilraven by the seaside. But when the newspaper falls on hard times, her boss invokes some cost saving measures, taking Elvira off salary and making her Freelance, paying her per obituary written. When Elvira “accidentally” kills a nasty piece of work in the town, she discovers she might have a previously untapped bloodlust and a new revenue stream. A rash of accidents begins to happen to the most unpleasant of the town's residents. Thing couldn't be going better until the newspaper hires a new crime correspondent with a penchant for conspiracy theories and Elvira finds that she really, really likes him...

S01.E01: Death Becomes Her

When her editor informs her that she will be paid per article, an obituarist for a small-town newspaper begins murdering people to avoid going broke. However, Elvira's plans are upended when she falls for the paper's dogged new crime correspondent.

S01.E02: Hiccups

Elvira targets someone sending her poison pen letters as Emerson's real reason for coming to town is revealed: He's trying to solve the murder five years ago of German national Maria Riedle in the local woods.

S01.E03: Stay of Execution

Elvira finds herself blackmailed by a teenager who saw her murder her first victim. Ward goes to AA while Hughie catches a break when he locates the rifle used to kill Maria Riedle.

S01.E04:  Weapons of Minor Destruction

Desperate to prove to herself that she is not a monster, Elvira pursues a drunk driver released from jail who mowed down a father and daughter.

S01.E05: Wild Goose Chase

Elvira wrestles with whether or not to kill her best friend as Mallory reveals that she has information that Elvira may be involved in a murder. To distract Emerson from the Maria Riedle case, Hughie sends Emerson on a wild goose chase.

S01.E06: Body Count

When Ward reveals what really happened the night Maria Riedle was killed, Elvira sets about framing Hughie for the crime. Emerson and Elvira finally hook up as Mallory flees town just as a surprise face returns to Kilraven.
