I knew Poly and Constant would be arrested as soon as they reached Trantor. These are actually my favourite two characters this season.

Bye clone Hari. I’m sure there is more than one of him anyway.

Loved Day’s expression when Sareth declared that she is there to serve the people, not the other way around.

Anybody still watching?

I’ve mentioned the distain this show has for religion, which is exactly what makes Poly and Constant so interesting. They are religious without being evil or stupid.

So robots/androids are banned but Empire is cool with genetic engineering, which makes Foundation the opposite of Star Trek. The Spacers are like the beings in Dune that can fold space, so Empire tolerates them for that reason.

I'm looking forward to learning more about them. It seems that's where Hober Mallow ended up... Spacer Central.

Have they explained why everyone seems to speak the same language? English to us, some sort of Galactic Lingua Franca to them. They must have something akin to the universal translator.

I've read most of Asimov's books, and I vaguely recall everyone spoke a single language, both in the Foundation books, and his Robot series. I think that was one of the mysteries of mankind, why everyone spoke a single language. Another mystery was which planet humans came from. They no longer knew that.

IIRC there were vague memories of Earth, now a nuclear wasteland.

They knew of Earth, and even called it that (which I always found weird). And it was one of a handful of planets suspected of being mankind's home planet. But no one really knew which planet it was.

Until maybe the end of the series, they found it. Maybe. It's been a long time since I read the books.
