Commentary on racial prejudice seemed randomly dispersed throughout the series.  The principal pairing Jin and Wei-Chen together in the first episode highlighted this, and then it seemed forgotten, but it was back in this episode in two different subplots.  I did find the principal's patronizing cultural assumptions amusing.  

Ke Huy Quan's performance was good, but it still didn't feel like a completely organic fit.  The references to what happened to the actor for real sort of took me out of the story.  But at the same time, this was an interesting way to incorporate one of the 3 subplots of the graphic novel (the one with the exaggerated racial stereotypes).
