Bill C. July 9, 2014 Share July 9, 2014 It gets points for being a relatively tightly written conclusion to the whole Circle story (and going back to something mentioned in the thread for The Circle, Jaro's fate was left unknown--they definitely could have brought him back later on), for the undercurrent of Miles and Keiko's marriage, and for the culmination of Li Nalas's arc. It loses a couple, IMO, for Steven Weber's Colonel Day--not so much for his being a scenery-chewing Starscream-esque blowhard, but for his seemingly random decision to try to take out Sisko at the end of the episode after General Krim declared the situation resolved. If they had somehow alluded to his being a member of the Circle or something, it would have made a little more sense. 2 Link to comment
John Potts July 12, 2014 Share July 12, 2014 I really liked the General of the Bajoran forces - too often we get "They are opposed to our heroes, therefore they must be EVIL!" so having an honourable opponent for our heroes was a nice change (he's the character I'd have liked to see again - maybe First Minister Shakaar proposed an Amnesty for previous terrorist actions when the Dominion came through the Wormhole and he could be a semi-respected adviser). Of course, you have to wonder how he put up with such an idiot for his second in command (a friend theorised that he was a political appointee, which seems at least consistent with what we see) - particularly given his experience of warfare is presumably exactly the sort of thing that Sisko was engaged in! 1 Link to comment
Meushell July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 Aww, Jake and Nog will miss each other. Molly is so cute in those loop tails. The team that all entered the holosuite deserved to be caught. Really? No one thought, "This is a holosuite. We should probably try shutting it down before going in there." 2 Link to comment
John Potts July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 Meushell No one thought, "This is a holosuite. We should probably try shutting it down before going in there." That was a particularly bone headed maneuvre on the Colonel's part (and not reporting Sisko's message was simply criminal, even if he thought it was misinformation) Although given the number of "Holodeck gone wrong" episodes, it's probably a reasonable precaution in any case! 1 Link to comment
iMonrey March 14, 2017 Share March 14, 2017 I was unclear what happened when Steven Weber's Colonel character was beamed out of the holosuite and into Ops. Did Sisko do that or did his commander retrieve him? If they could get him why not the others? Link to comment
John Potts March 14, 2017 Share March 14, 2017 Pretty sure that was Sisko (so the Colonel could pass on the message). Link to comment
