  1. Changing the future by making me rich wouldn't change the world or this country much, but if I stopped 911 from happening, wow, the repercussions from that...who knows what would happen then?

Would the terrorists try again and maybe even something worse happen and how about all the people that would still be alive?  All the newly single people who married again and had babies with someone else...the babies wouldn't exist....

  2. I loved the first season, in fact, I think it is one of the best seasons in TV history.

Serial killer vs serial killer, you thought they would wait and do this later, but they hit it out of the park right away.

And the big reveal caught most people off guard.

  3. Missed a number of eps and wanted to see if the show had improved.  Nope, still the same knock you over the head characterizations.

The lead is sooo smart, the mechanic girl can really fix things, the nerd is still OCD, and the hat guy still talks like Sigman Freud.

The little boy is too smart for his dad, but will respond if egghead stuff is imposed.  And only the IQ guy can help.

Katharine McPhee is adorable to look at and has no real job here, but to only say common sense things.

Patrick is a cliche leader of a secret group.  Very stiff and boring.

I'm surprised this show is still on and gets good ratings, but I think the reason is that it is on CBS, which dominates the ratings.

I think the opening credits of Walking Dead are more interesting than this show.

  4. Never could figure why the guy cop was scared of Dawn.  He had a gun and was bigger than her.  Also, hard to believe many would put up with basically being slaves.  Wait for a good moment, knock out a cop, get their gun, shoot the rest.

  5. I think this episode should have been called "Everyone Hates Beth and Chris."  This thread should be called "Everyone Hates Beth".

Some of you, okay most of you are really picky.  This is the Walking Dead and I don't care who is on the screen, it's still better than 99% of what is on TV.

Beth isn't my favorite, but the ep was fine.  More bad guys, walkers, view of Atlanta and Beth doing her best.

And why do you so many of you dislike her singing?  She sings fine.  Certainly could have made it to Hollywood.

  6. Oh yay. More bad guys.

And the three stooges apparently get a fucking episode wasted on them.

I hate the writers. Beth is boring , dawn is boring, the stooges are boring. Stick with the compelling characters. Assholes.

    Thank you Merle.

  7. I really enjoyed this series.  The feel and look were really outstanding.  And all the actors just seemed so real.  Fausto comes across as a sleaze bag.  Good season and will watch if it's renewed.

  8. I could never really behind the whole premise of coming back in such negative circumstances.  Killing others, in strange bodies, can't remember, yikes I would rather just move on.

There was nothing really redeeming about QR.  Just a murderous cult that only cared about itself.  I've seen enough.

  9. When the show left the farm and went to the prison, I didn't even remember Beth.   I'm rewatching the seasons with a friend and I paid more attention to her, but I can see why I barely remembered her.  Other than Herschel and Maggie, most of the farm residents were basically redshirts and didn't survive.

Beth came across like that, but somehow made it.  I don't dislike her, but she isn't one of the most compelling characters, at least not yet.

Surprisingly, they had her playing 17 at the prison, but her real age is 29.

  10. I don't trust any woman that gave birth to sociopathic Fred. Besides, she gives me the creeps.

I knew when Bellamy woke up that he'd been offed. I wonder if the government knows that he's a double returnee.

I don't think Bellamy is a double returnee.  His family died and he lived.

  11.

Over at the Defiance thread it was commented that the character of Tommy was living on borrowed time (and subsequently did succomb) because he was a black man on a sci fi show.   When the guy from Lost got killed I could NOT believe they went there in the very first episode.  I now have no doubt whatsoever that if they ever have a lesbian couple on the show one of the lesbians will die.  NO DOUBT.  And that is a sad thing for the 21st century.

Being color blind is what liberals have wanted, but they can never seem to follow their own advice.

Blacks and other minorities are not always killed in TV and movies.  It's just when they are, libs notice it and comment like it is proof of some big conspiracy

Evidently, you want a quota.  You want political correctness in TV and movies.  Now that is sad.

  12. Average at best and most of the characters were cliched.  The plotlines were manipulative and the plane and car scene was ridiculous.  I may give it another look, but no Breaking Bad for me.

  13. Or just make candles out of a fat zombie...

"Hey honey, could you light up the zombie candle.  The smell of the undead is just what this house needs. "

  14. Abe and Fet were great characters all season.  Eph and Nora bugged at times with their moralizing, although they did step up finally.

It's a vampire plague, not the Amish visiting the town.

  15.

Does Linda Hamilton have aging makeup on, or does she really look like she’s in her 70s? The woman is only 57, there is no way someone is that wrinkled at 57.

Fighting Terminators makes one old.    So does being married to James Cameron.

  16. Well, if she was all powerfully magic, everything would be solved and there would be no show.   So, just like every other show with magic, they will make her powerful when needed and helpless when needed.

  17. I enjoyed that ep. so much. But if Katrina is a witch, why can't she magic herself out of the Horseman's lair?

It's a movie and TV trope, but witches and magic are never clearly defined as to what are their limits.  It's one of my major problems with this plot as they will just make whatever fits the story.  The Witches of East End comes to mind.

  18. This was basically a fair to good show.  It gave us an ending, but nothing incredible.  If it comes back, I would take a look, but not really something that would bother me if it isn't renewed.

  19. Well, the finale happened and the show didn't disappoint.  It's just as ridiculous as ever and is obviously just a parody.

So, here's my review of some of the silliest happenings and quotes in Jester's...uh, Chester's Mill....

Barbie: The dome is shutting down and we have only a few hours left.

How do you know the dome is shutting down and there are only a few hours left?  Maybe it will stop...like the acid rain.

Norrie:  The path(in the cave) goes somewhere and anywhere is better than here.

How do you know that?  Maybe there is a 50 ft. dropoff and that wouldn't be better.

Joe: Julia needs help loading the buses.

Because the citizens of Chester's Mill are incapable of getting on a bus on their own.

    Pauline: My sweet son.

You mean the one who kidnapped and held Angie prisoner.

(Rebecca is hesitant to end Pauline's suffering, but she was all in for killing a good portion of the town to give those left a couple more days to live.)

Julia(to a kid): Make sure everyone has a seat on the bus.

Because adults of CM are incapable of finding a seat on their own.

Someone:  If we stay here, we die.

You don't know that and you don't know what's in the crater.

After being told Julia went to help someone..

Barbie: Where is Julia right now?

How is anyone supposed to know that?  Are they psychic?  Have a GPS?

Julia(to Barbie):  The town needs your help before the cave tumbles in on them.

Because the citizens of CM are incapable of walking through a cave on their own.

Nor(early in the episode): We know the dome better than anyone.

Nor(later in the episode to the dome): Screw you.

Evidently, they have a dysfunctional relationship.

Many have mentioned Revolution, Terra Nova, the Event and other shows with a good premise, but had terrible execution.  All those shows, while not good, had a little good acting and some scenes that were interesting.  Under The Dome has none of these.  It's only worth watching as a parody and it works on that level.

For me, even though there are many characters that are ridiculous, my favorite one is Joe.  He seems to have two different kinds of lines....one is to tell people to look at something that they can already see...

....Look, Barbie is back.  Look, there are butterflies.  Look, the dome is moving.  Look, the sky is blue....

...the second is to ask questions that no one can answer...

What do we do now Barbie?  Who can help us if not you?  What does the dome want?...

I have to say I have enjoyed it because I look at it like an Airplane parody or a Saturday Night Live sketch.

(my Joe impression)Loooookkkk!!  boys and girls, it's a parody.  Why do people watch this show seriously?

    Only the dome knows....

So, until next year, same dome time, same dome channel.  Oh, the agony of the wait.....how will I ever make it through the winter...I'll need lima beans..

Maybe I'll build me a windmill, find some butterflies and falling pink stars...yeah, that will do it...now I'm in heaven...LOL!!!
