After getting a week off, John comes back . . . first to talk about student protests and the often-disproportionate response to them, and then he covered libraries.
Good topic, because you have people looking to ban/outlaw books and subsequently blame libraries for having said books. Sure, children could be exposed to stuff that might be inappropriate, but shouldn’t there be parents/guardians to prevent that? I mean actually being there, as opposed to railing against books that they probably don’t read. It’s insane that librarians can face jail time in a few states for checking out banned books. Only thing missing from John’s report was book burnings. You just know that’s happening.
I live in NYC (well, one of the boroughs), so I never had had a chance to take out leaf blowers, seeds or stuffed and mounted animals. I don’t think John got that bird from a recognized library.

Hey Liz, maybe if you are allergic to all foods found on Survivor, don’t fucking go on Survivor!
Idiot. Zero sympathy for you!
I understand that, but shouldn’t the casting people get the majority of the blame? Maybe Liz applied and left out the allergies, and the production didn’t press her about it. Between Liz, Q, Bhanu, Jelinsky, the three people who went out with idols, and whatever other irritants that I’m not considering, I would think people would get fired. They’ll probably get promotions because Probst gets hard by the insanity these wild cards bring.

Depressing episode. I felt bad for Liz. I can understand Q making his choices, though. And then Liz had that OUTBURST. Over Applebee’s. This game really has gotten absurd, hasn’t it? I’m on Liz’s side, though, and I’m thankful she didn’t ask anyone to burp in her mouth. Carolyn.
Oh, and Tiffany doesn’t play her idol. Dummy! I’m telling you, if the next season hasn’t been filmed yet, everyone there will be playing idols immediately. Having three people fuck that up doesn’t speak well of the casting for this season. Having someone as chaotic as Q in there is the frosting on the shitty, shitty cake . . . which Liz probably can’t eat. As least she got her own rice, and it didn’t cost her in the end. I hope the container is shatterproof, because we don’t need another tantrum.
In the end, I just blame Probst for everything. It seems to be appropriate to do.

Good episode. I don’t think Ricky & Cesar winning most of the legs wrecks this season. They’ve had tough moments, and you can see them fraying a little. They just work things out and kick ass. Having a dysfunctional team like Amber & Vinny around helps.

Dammit! I did not think of that! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I feel bad for Angie & Danny. I honestly didn’t think he was being entitled or a brat. They had a good dynamic, but losing their crew screwed them. Like I said, they’re probably a shoo-in for the next “Unfinished Business” season.
We have gone through eight legs, and no team that has won a leg has been eliminated. Is that a record? I think the mark was set by TAR3.

Angie said “Philiminated.” That’s awesome.

Damn. I liked Angie & Danny. I’m thinking they are a shoo-in for an “Unfinished Business” season.

Who said the title?
Rod. Just now.

Why do I have a feeling that the teaser for next week will consist of Amber & Vinny screaming at each other?
Before I forget . . . in case you didn’t see the Media thread, Phil is going to be on Late Show tonight.

Really? When was that? And why didn't it work?
Short story: they did Face-to-Face at the end of a leg for two seasons years ago. It basically killed momentum, and Phil had to do play-by-play like Jeff Probst. That was before he did that on Tough as Nails, and it wasn’t his strong suit.

This cannot be the first time a team lost its crew.

I think it would be fun if teams were allowed to compete in this tennis game against each other. The winner gets to move on and the loser has to wait 10 minutes or so.
That was called a Face-to-Face. It didn’t work out.

Leticia is playing like the Girlfriends sing. She’s gonna be there for a while.
Danny can’t think of Rihanna songs. Of course.

Are they supposed to be standing on the blue part? I noticed the local stayed behind the line.
My thought as well. I’m thinking they get to cheat a little on this one.
Oh, wait, the locals seem to be doing that as well.

I’m guessing it’s okay for Racers to move forward on the court.
Trying to think of more Rihanna songs. “S&M” kind of applies to Amber & Vinny, yes?

Dumb mission. I like that Brad thought he had an edge because he went through something like that in Duel II. Blockhead.
