  1. Honestly, I'm a little surprised that any network picked them up given all the scandal and headaches. It will be interesting to see how the show changes in light of the prosecutorial misconduct scandals against Kelly, the lawsuits against the show (and their previous network) and now a new network overlord.
  2. They may be blatant idiots, but I have no doubt that they are blatant idiots who are more than happy to tow the line and say whatever they are told to say for nice fat paychecks. Who else is going to pay those two dim bulbs what I presume is millions of dollars a year? They're stuck and sadly they are exactly what the equally dim aging Fox morning audience wants to see.
  3. Not really The View in the media, but there's no CCB thread so I thought I'd drop this here. I can feel myself slipping into a saccharine induced coma already and they didn't even show the actors in the promo. No thanks. http://www.people.com/article/fuller-house-netflix-release-date-announced
  4. Maybe I'm paranoid, but would you actually eat some food item, especially something that appears to be homemade, randomly left in your mailbox by an unknown unseen stranger? You want to leave a note saying "thank you, we really love your festive holiday decorations," great. Anything beyond that starts to get creepy. I agree that Bitsy's stories invariably sound fake. It's kind of uncanny actually that NOTHING she says has an air of sincerity. It always feels made up and/or calculated to say "Look at me! Aren't I thoughtful/adorable/patriotic/pious/domestic/etc." Blech.
  5. She and her two side boobs were also paddling madly to blame Trump's latest un-American vileness on...wait for it...President Obama. I know, it must be a day with a Y in it. Sigh. Well, at least she's consistent.
  6. Oh Lizzie, it's not a criticism of prayer. It's criticism of those offering empty platitudes instead of action, particularly lawmakers who have the power to actually do something but fear the NRA more than they care about the people they allegedly serve.
  7. Wasn't it also the Daily Mail who swore not long ago that ABC was showing Whoopi the door after the holiday break? Yeah, grain of salt…
  8. It didn't look all that interesting to me (very been-there-done-that) so I haven't watched, but apparently it's doing well enough that the network ordered more shows. The lists I saw a week or two ago had it more in the 'Meh' range. Not a hit, but not at death's door either. Based on the character description I can already see exactly how Sherri will play it. Just more of her usual schtick. No thanks.
  9. This must be the career news Sherri was excited about. As much as it pains me, I have to give her credit. She actually landed a real network acting gig this time instead of deep deep deep basic cable dreck. http://deadline.com/2015/11/sherri-shepherd-cast-rosewood-fox-1201647037/

  11. There was a time I might have agreed with this generally, at least in part. I never cared for her but I didn't actively dislike her. Mostly I just found her painfully willful in her ignorance, fake and frankly just not someone whose view I had any interest in hearing. She was more of a caricature, and not a very flattering one. But then she tried to abandon and disown her child, and she didn't care who she hurt in the process. In particular she really screwed over the poor surrogate, an innocent woman who did nothing but try to help an infertile couple have a child. After that I really had little left but contempt for Sherri, and all of her nonsense that was generally forgettable before started to grate and seem all the more insufferable and irritating when viewed through that prism of selfishness, irresponsiblity and self absorption. Now, appearance shaming in my opinion is not ok, and it is not something that I will participate in, but her public behavior is completely fair game.
  12. I agree, it does look a little odd. All the glasses do appear to be empty even of water (although I confess I can't see it all that well on my small phone screen). That said, it looks like it might have been just a quick snapshot grabbed immediately after folks sat down after filling their plates buffet style. I notice Sherri's plate is empty still. Knowing what a scatterbrain she is I'm guessing she just forgot to fill the water glasses before everybody sat down. Is that a milk carton on the table in front of Al and Jeffrey? Who sets a nice table and then plunks a milk carton in the middle of it?
  13. Whoa. Sherri Shepherd hosting the former Mr. Star Jones for Thanksgiving dinner? That's...ummm...unexpected. O_O
  14. I agree, Bitsy's departure is at a minimum odd. She's doing the opposite of what most SAHMs with options do. This is the stage where most are deciding whether to *return* to the workforce after staying home with their kids when they're small. I'm just not buying it. Sure, missing the morning routine isn't awesome, but being a working parent always means there is some sacrifice and juggling involved. That's just reality. You know she's home from work before the kids are home from school and she's with them (or can be) from that time to bedtime, plus, presumably she has all day on the weekends to be the CBO (*eyeroll*). She is way too over-the-top and melodramatic (and frankly, fairly nauseating) about this change. That said, as cushy and part time as it is, this is still probably the toughest and closest thing to a full-time job she's had...ever. Whatever the true story is here, it is clearly more than just a very privileged woman choosing to stay home with her kids.
