  1. This may seem pretty weird, and I honestly don't expect to find exactly what I'm looking for, but ...

While I wish I had the time to watch every single episode, does anyone know where I can find a list of Martin-centric - or eps with more of a focus on Martin - or at least eps with important bits of his backstory.

Also hoping for some help on the Martin/Sam relationship timeline.

I know there are at least a few Martin-centric or focused episodes, from reading some ep descriptions, like S2's A Tree Falls and Shadows.

I think I have a general-ish timeline on the M/S from reading this thread and various things around the web, but need confirmation.  What I've picked up implies that Martin begins to realize his feelings about Sam in the latter half of S1, they have 'moments' throughout S2, "officially" get together at the end of S2, and then officially end in S3's The Bogie Man.

  2. Anybody have any concrete info on whether this series is officially dead or not?

Best info - more like speculation - I've found is that is hasn't been officially cancelled yet, but in the same token, hasn't been officially renewed & in production either.

If you consider IMDb as the be-all-end-all status identifier for such things, they list it as cancelled/ended.  Same for another site I use for episode titles and air dates for a great number of current, recent and past series.

Hoping for at least one more season, but sadly expecting there won't be.  (considering it's been ~44 months since Epix aired S2 and haven't heard much of anything about it since)

  3. (hoping this is right place for this ...)

Does anyone know what's going on with the third season of The Mallorca Files?  Have they started filming yet??  If so, any news of a potential release date???

Heh, if that's their plan, it actually wouldn't go over well with a good portion of the fandom, at least not in the areas where I spend time. In my fandom corner, I'm in an extreme minority of fans who actually does like them as a pairing. Mind, I never actually expected the show to put them together, but I would also hope they wouldn't kill Will off just to make that happen. At least, that's not how I'd write that kind of setup if I were in charge and they were going that way.

Plus, there's also the fact that it'd probably be easier to do the whole JJ/Reid thing if Reid were, y'know, there, and as of now I've not seen any indications he's going to be back, so....

Either both sides are doing an amazing job of keeping it under wraps, or its looking increasingly like MGG will not be returning to the series in any capacity.  I mean, how would news that 'big' stay quiet for this long otherwise?

Shame, if so.  Especially now that "Jencer" could be a potential route they could take things, if JS/WL is truly officially out.

  5. Glad I waited then.

Still not sure if I want to make the financial commitment or not.  I do enjoy watching the team and wish them the best - both in keeping their stuff going as long as possible as well as profiting in their endeavors - but $10/mo or $120/yr is not a super tiny amount for those who aren't super well off.

  6. Just wondering if anyone is subbed to Fear Club?

I haven't watched season 1 of Project Fear yet, but I am wanting to know if they are actually providing extra evidence captures behind the paywall, or if its more like just access to merchandise or just BTS stuff, etc.

Also, in case its not widely known in these parts, I read that season 2 premieres in a week & a half, on 10/20.

  7. Are we allowed to talk about other aspects of the clips, aside from the supposed paranormal aspects of them?

    Watching the Top100 Countdown marathon, and it reminded me of something that I think every time I see the segment;

Putting aside that if what was happening was paranormal was pretty creepy, can we touch on the unmissable display of child neglect in the one about the very young boy that pulls himself up and balances on the top railing of his crib for a bit?

I can't help but have questions.  Where is the parents' bedroom in relation to the boy's?  There's no room-to-room child monitors involved, especially with a static cam in there to catch what happened??  That kid is crying, wailing, and screaming before he pulls himself up on the railing, which means there's minutes of these sounds happening in total, but from all indications the parents never even rolled over in bed due to it.  The dad even comes across - as he talks about the capture(s) - as caring more about the 3 minutes of fame garnered by sharing the clips instead of the welfare of his son.

I'll get off my soap box now, but that entire segment just really irks me.

  8. After looking around the internet a bit, it seems there's a tiny bit of chatter about the chances of MGG coming back as Reid for CME s2.

In an interview he gave for some of this other projects here very recently, he was asked about revisiting the Spencer Reid role on CME.  He answered that he would "be honored!" and "maybe it could happen" now that his own personal schedule isn't quite so packed as it was previously.  Also heavily hinted that it turns out that the strike made a return possible.  Had there been no strike, his schedule wouldn't have allowed time for him to be able participate in any of the filming for CME s2.

Maybe there's absolutely nothing there and he's just blowing smoke, but it at least provides a little hope for those of us who need it.  Not gonna hold my breath, but I'm down to give it a try if they can get MGG/Reid back - and hopefully for much more than as just a 'special guest star' for like barely a cameo in 1 or 2 episodes.

  9. Anybody watch the premiere of Jack Osbourne's Night of Terror this past Sunday night?  It's basically about him taking a different family member and/or celeb friend to go ghost hunting with him.

He took his mother, Sharon, to the Glen Tavern Inn to investigate its paranormal claims for this one.

I'll always be a fan of Jack's wit, but other than what happened towards the end, it was pretty boring honestly.  Also still can't stand Chip Coffey.  Don't think I ever will be able to.

  10. I still watch, but only for guessing which clips could maybe be actual paranormal activity and which ones are obviously hoaxed.

My biggest problem with this show is the complete and total lack of realism by 'expert' commenters.  Everything is 1,000,000% supernatural, no question about it, all the time.

Some of the clips provided are from people who are out hunting for ghosts/poltergeists/shadow people, etc, and have been on the series 5+ times already, but oh yeah, they are getting undoubtedly pure supernatural footage each and every time.  I mean, c'mon!  It's like expecting nobody to question how Zac Bagans somehow went from just a ghost hunting TV personality to a full blown conduit of & for paranormal activity.  Right.

  11. I still haven't watched a single second of anything TWD since the end of S8 of the parent show - aside from the unavoidable ads/commercials - but just chiming in again to give mad props to those still watching the franchise.

Don't know how you do it, but I got nothing but respect for y'alls ability to do it.  I couldn't take any more and other than seeing ads or mentions around the 'net for it, I hardly ever think about this 'universe' anymore.

  12. Good way to send the series off, I guess - Higgins delivering baby-Miggy - but yeah I am not really down with a 'Higgins pregnant' story line at the moment.

I mean Higgins being 'out in the field' with Magnum is a huge part of the show, and you're gonna take that away?  And you just know that before Higgins dramatically tells him to stop, Magnum is going to try & metaphorically bundle her (& the unborn baby) up in bubble wrap for protection.

  13. Now that we've met Scotty, its only Bones, Sulu and Chekov left on the "yet to meet of the main TOS 'command' crew" - right?

(had a whole lot more posted, but screwed up and not gonna re-type it - so, the highlights)

    -  TBC sucked, thanks to not knowing when S3 will happen, due to the strike

    -  Initial guess is that Batel's Gorn eggs important to the Gorn, Pike trades her to them for his captured crew back

    -  Sam will survive because of canon, but his death could have been used for JTK angst purposes

    -  Hope that when it comes back, no more 'schlocky' episodes;  IE the fairy tale reenactments, musicals, et al

I feel really slow on the uptake, only now realizing La’an’s ancestor will be part of the reason David Marcus dies. (And yet another problem with SNW vs TOS)

I've actually been thinking about this, too.

Like - considering this series' proclivity for over-emotionalizing everything - what's the real point of bringing these two together romantically, or at least heavily implying the potential for such is definitely there?

It can't be for setting up the angst of having to deal with Khan's vengeance in  TWoK is what leads to David's death in TSfS, as that is canonically still 25+ years in the future from the current timeline.  Unless, and I would rule nothing out at this point, they have another time-travel episode where JTK learns of what happens to David in TSfS that way.

I counted 3 encounters...with something... new: the ones communicating with Uhura, the ones that changed Spock to Human and whatever causes the musical frenzy (I fast forwarded a lot so I might miss something here).

But indeed, I think the show does not justify its title.
Maybe Star Trek: Chef Pike & Friends could be more appropriate.

I love how the original description for this series was something like "a decade before James T. Kirk takes over as captain of the Enterprise ...", and yet here we are in the 2nd season and he's heavily trending towards practically being part of the crew already.

I honestly don't care that they've introduced JTK already and have him as a regular, but don't promote the show like the audience wouldn't meet him for quite some time yet, but then turn around and have him already appear at the end of the very first season.

And while we're at it, I think they should just go ahead and 'bend' canon so that JTK transfers to the Enterprise, early on next season - and he can be Number Two, or Number One-B - all the while couching it as an 'extended learning experience for being a Number One, as well as a Captain later'.  I'd much rather have that than a bunch more AU and/or time travel highjinx just to shoe-horn Wesley's JTK into future episodes.

So was that the first time we have seen Spock gazing into his sense-oar periscope thingy on SNW?

Pretty sure he's done it a few times, just don't ask me for specific timestamps in specific episodes for those said times.

.... or I could just be imagining that I've seen him do it before, multiple times.

  17. I guess I'll have a seat at my table for one, because this episode did pretty much nothing for me.  Was a real slog, in full actual honesty.

Not to mention, the placement.  A musical eppy in the penultimate episode of a 10-ep season?!  Really???

I must be going to a faux Paramount+ site, because I keep getting these Orville-like episodes every other week - or more.  Honestly, The Orville comes off like a lite knock-off version of itself compared to some of these SNW episodes.  Even though I have never watched Discovery, I've learned enough to gather what its like.  I'm not saying I want constant doom/gloom and grimness like that, but this particular series seems to see itself as a parody version of Star Trek for at least close to half its season, in both that have already aired.

Can this be the end of Spock/Chapel now, officially?  That, along with all the other constipated romantic relationships, this show comes off as a daytime soap on a starship most of the time.

And they couldn't have broadcast the upcoming death of Captain Batel any more if they tried with the "have to put the vacation on hold for a Priority One mission".  And I guess it is time to touch on the Gorn threat again, at the season finale, seeing as it hasn't even been barely mentioned since the very end of the first episode of the season.

Sorry for being such a 'downer', but I turn on Star Trek to watch Star Trek.  Not something that seems to want to compete with The Orville - if The Orville was crossed with a daytime soap - in terms of style, themes and presentation.

I've come this far so I'll keep watching, but I hope the future episodes & seasons are different than most of the first 2 seasons/20 episodes.

Hey guys, so quick question for you all.

Since Destination Fear is now Project fear, do you think we should either a) Change the name of this thread to reflect that or b)Start a new thread for Project Fear, or c) Continue as we currently are?

    D) Fine with any of the above options.

I haven't had time to check but I had assumed it was already up. I wonder what the hold up is?

They didn't have enough time to get the episode edited, so it will be delayed by a week in being released.

Or so I read on the subreddit.
