I mean, we had a computer in '88. My mom was a single parent going to college at the time and we lived in government housing. The first one I remember buying (as in, I was a part of the process) was in '91. It was $2,100. I remember this because I was there when we bought it and over the next few years my mom frequently hollered, "Don't drink/eat/play by the computer! It was $2,100!"

We had Comadores in my classroom from 1986 onwards and I lived in one of the poorest counties in the nation. (The War on Poverty was literally declared while the president was standing on a porch less than a mile away from our house.)

It was definitely possible to own a PC in the late 80s/early 90s for less than $2,500... Some brands could even be had for less than $1,000.

I agree that they could have had a computer.  I think what we have to remember is that using the computer wasn’t second nature to a lot of people then.  Another thing I think of is back then we were taught to write a rough draft on paper first, and then type it up.  I started high school in 1990, and I can remember composing a first draft of anything on the computer was discouraged.  Even in 2002 when I started teaching some of my colleagues were opposed to having students compose using the computer.  It was hand write the rough draft, then type.  My point is while yes, there were personal computers in 1989, it wasn’t natural for some people to do everything on the computer. Linda having a hand written list is not surprising.

Back to the rest of the show.  There are sometimes where I feel sorry for Betty. I just want to yell at the judge, “Can’t you see what Dan is doing?”  However, Betty really needed someone to rein in her behavior.  Unfortunately she pushed everyone away, so she was basically out of control.  I think she may be better off in jail - she’s provided for, has a roof over her head, and she can’t really make crazy decisions.

I surely enjoyed this episode... They got alot  of filming accomplished for an hour eposide, trip to the zoo, karate, shopping for mobile home, wedding practice, 1st day at pre-school...

Wales had me rolling... "She (Rivers) bit me like a sandwich"...

Wales must get that from Popsie.  On last night's episode, Popsie said something like, "I'm more tired than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest."  🤣 I also loved how he dressed the babies like him.  I really enjoy when Popsie is on!

Courtney hand Eric have their hands full with the babies in their terrible twos.  That one shot of when one of the girls pulled the dog bed out from under Blu when he was standing in time out...oh my! They might need a SuperNanny crossover episode.

I have to admit, I was just a tiny bit scared when Kiko said he likes to play music. He's adorable and all, but I don't need to see another singing crew.

He also said he has a guitar. My reaction was “Noooooo!”

What about the dinner when that particular guest was seen going into the bathroom and production was sure to let us hear the sounds of him snorting and sniffing? His behavior seemed altered.  I think he definitely used, but it was either gone or he got rid of it prior to the search.

Fun Jenna story. I put some negative comments about her appearance & desperate way of acting around Adam on an Instagram below deck page. Probably not nice, but that's reality TV for ya.  The next day Jenna herself showed up in my IG INBOX, commenting  on me and my daughters.... as soon as I saw my daughters in the content of the message I deleted the message and blocked her.  She is clearly not well or playing with a full deck.  Reality TV "stars" need a thick skin, and definitely should not be sliding into viewers DM's to verbally accost them.  I do not want to see her back on my screen again.

Just to play devil’s advocate, the sniffing sounds could have been edited in.  He could have sniffed once and they could have used that over and over again.  We really don’t know.

Personally I think he was up to something, but we may never know for sure.

I understood both Georgia's and Madison's points during their argument.  Georgia was trying to be helpful and Madison saw it as a violation of her trust(rightly so). I give props to Georgia for informing Madison before someone else had the chance to, and props to Madison for being able to forgive and move on.

I don't like Jenna one bit, because she is fake and also a bully.  That being said,  Adam was gaslighting her with his silent treatment and his verbal manipulation of the situation.  Jenna needs to cut this fool out of her life.

Georgia, at least, seems self aware.  I appreciated in her talking head she said that wasn't the person she wanted to be.  If it had been Jenna in Georgia's position, she would have told Madison to get over it and probably felt she hadn't done anything wrong.

Also, I cannot believe Jenna put Georgia on service so she could have a talk with Adam. Do that when you are off-duty!  It made me think of how upset Courtney was when he sent her that text while she was working...and how upset she was that now she had to deal with that during work.  And here's Jenna purposely taking care of personal business during work time.  She's so unprofessional.  Her management style is definitely "Do as I say, not as I do."

Although I'm certainly no fan of Adam, Last night I was applauding him for letting Jenna have it! She's a horrible chief stew, self centered, manipulative and clueless about how her actions affect others. Let's hope Adams "good sense" lasts for the next two charters. Now about Madison. What's gotten into that girl? Was it just because everyone was "coupled up" and she didn't have a chance to hook up with Parker? That was a blessing in disguise. He's a spoiled kid that was raised on a silver spoon. When the going gets a little tough....he quits...oh....er....sorry...resigns! Madison dodged a bullet. Got a chuckle when Jenna was worried he'd show up at the restaurant. Even though Madison seems full of drama in this episode, I'm not sure it wasn't producer requested. She's been pretty level headed (ie. the 'roided up body builder). Maybe it was time to give ratings a boost? Of all the women on board, (and if I were 20 years younger) I'd be interested mostly in her. I think she is the sexiest stew on the boat.  I also decided tonight that Byron is officially a jerk. He so desperately wants to be single again and he gossips like a washer woman. Instead of partying with the youngsters, he should be back onboard Parsifal and surfing the 'net with captain Glenn  🙂

My take on Madison this episode, especially at the dinner was that she was feeling lonely. First, the couples sperated themselves for a date night.  The way that all went down, I felt like Jenna was saying “you’re not on a date so you can’t sit with us.  Couples only At this table!”  I don’t think she’s totally upset because she didn’t hook up with Parker, but she does miss her partner in crime.  Then at dinner her other partner in crime is more focused on Flirting with Chris, essentially preventing Madison from even trying to have a regular conversation with Chris.  I’ve been there, so I can imagine how she’s feeling. And it all built up and came out in her outburst at dinner.

I was thinking the series is incredibly lame.  Horrible acting, horrible writing, I am just watching it to see how much more worse it can get.   I guess you can say I am pity watching.

I am pity watching, too.  Each time I think, can it get any worse.  The answer is always yes, it can!

  8. My random thought:  I don't like the name Paget.  I thought I would get used to it, but no.

Jenna always seems to be on service.  Does she do anything else besides berate her stews?

Ciara and Parker:  she seems to not take him seriously.  He could be an asset but I think she feels like he is interfering with the work her and Paget need to do.  I was glad Parker was kind of vindicated re: the cushions.

They also could have called 911 using their cellphones.

Michaela said she wasn't getting a signal...and then came to the conclusion that "they" must be blocking a signal.

This show.  I feel like there are different groups of writers writing each episode and they never talk to each other.  The characters' behaviors seem to do 180s each episode. This episode Michaela didn't seem to show any disdain for Jared. Last week she seemed to hate him.  Even the development of her relationship with Zeke.  All of a sudden they are in love!

It also bugs me that Olive called Cal "pipsqueak."  I would think she still struggles with the fact that her twin is now younger than her.  But she acts like she is the older, wiser sister.  I mean, she lets Cal use her iPad, isn't that nice?

The Dharma wheel. Oh show, could you be any more obvious?

The fact that Jared is Michaela's ex who has his own recently crumbled marriage because he tried to reunite with Michaela should be reason enough for the district attorney to take Jared's account with a grain of salt. The fact that Michaela's account of events has gone from "I don't remember" to "it was an accident" should be reason for the DA to slow their roll. The victim keeps trying to visit the defendant. She gets up in court to proclaim that it was an accident and his innocence. Then Zeke refuses counsel and doesn't even have standby counsel appointed. This case is a dog. Have they had Zeke by a psychiatrist or psychologist? Even ignoring the 828 shit, maybe Zeke is confessing because he feels guilty that his girlfriend got hurt. This case is so full of holes that the holes have ceased being holes. There's more empty space than connective material. It's like going to the ruins of the Library of Alexandria and trying to get an interlibrary loan. There's no there there.

Jared is very bad at investigating things. They found TJ's fingerprints all over his own stuff in the dead girl's room. Jared missed that there was a second key card, that the fingerprints were on TJ's own belongings, and some of those items had dates that were at least 5 years old (a concert ticket stub with a date made it into the dead girl's TJ collage). How is he this bad at being observant? But then again, he keeps missing that Michaela hates him now and truly believes the shooting was accident.

    ...

Hey new police captain, if you truly looked through Michaela's records, you'd know that there is usually an 828er, besides Michaela, involved in the case. Even if the new captain is not inclined to believe in the supernatural, there's a whole bunch of unexplainable 828 shit that is actually known by the general public. Furthermore, there are all sorts of cults and groups that worship the 828ers. It's entirely possible that the people who might believe the 828ers had some divine purpose would tell Michaela things they'd never tell other police officers.

The detectives on this show really suck.
