Not enough to pay $2.99 for the magazine, but I'm curious to see the episode.

Or you could just lurk around the next time you go shopping there, and get behind someone with a ridiculously large amount of groceries in their cart. Probably could finish the article off in no time!

  2. I thought it was much too early to send two teammates off, especially since it meant a future reworking of the teams. Makes it look like the producers were working much too hard to add complications and drama. Just let things evolve naturally, and throw the twists in later. Too Big Brotherish interferring, I think.

  3. Wow...nothing? I always prefer his team, because I much prefer Jonathan to Drew. Not half as smarmy and he dresses to accentuate his body. Also seems a little more easygoing. There are times that Drew just seems like a jerk. As for the teams themselves, I keep forgetting which team goes with which brother. Maybe it would help if we could see them go out to dinner (in a casual place) and interact on the first day, kind of like Gordon Ramsay does with the winning teams on Hell's Kitchen. Just lets you separate the players a bit, and we could associate them with the team leader in some way.

Please, no more Hilary and David!  The Natural Born Sellers couple, whom I love, would be better and know more about this market.

Guess I don't agree with the majority - I love David and Hilary, think their chemistry is fantastic! Really enjoy Hilary's designs too and would give some weight to her opinion. Maybe you need to see screechy Jillian Harris (of Bachelorette infamy) to appreciate the good taste and charm of Hilary. Jillian and Todd somebody host Love It or List It Vancouver - a far inferior spin-off with a much higher budget, due to the inflated house prices in the Vancouver area. Hilary and Todd and the Property Brothers frequently appear together on home shows - must be a HGTV thing. Now, the two I can't stand are the couple that star in Flip or Flop - I think their names are Tarek and Christina. He's kind of a whiny nonenity while she has a voice like fingernails on chalkboard and over-dyed, brassy hair. I really despise her - maybe it's because she thinks she's hot shit, or maybe it's the sense of entitlement both of them carry. Anyway, whenever I see their show I always hope the renos will go badly and they'll be driven out of the business. I know it's "Reality" not reality, but I can always hope...anyway the brothers are pretty big stars on the local TV reality scene and although I don't think they're "hot" like their promotional material tries to stress, they seem okay to me. The show itself seems kind of meh - and I'm always annoyed that I can see four or five episodes at a time, but never get to see the semi final nor the last one. Took me ages to see which one won the first season. The show doesn't seem to be adequately promoted, not as much as the brothers other shows.

Victoria's point was that she is not scared of Devin's size, but that the way his behavior is all over the place, he is so emotional, and that he is scary when he stares people down.  Devin likes to think he is intimidating because of his muscles, but it's more than that.

Exactly, Morbs. I wouldn't be intimidated by a man because of his size or his excessive muscle development, but I am freaked out by unpredictable, emotionally bi-polar people. I try to avoid them whenever possible, although you obviously can't do this in the Big Brother house. It's not limited to men of course, I've had plenty of unstable female coworkers and I haven't liked them either, although generally men are more likely to have an angry undercurrent to their unstable interactions. I still think Evil Dick was the worst houseguest I've seen, much more threatening than Devin or Caleb in my view. (I don't have the feeds though, just going by what I've read, and I haven't seen all the seasons - pretty much been a viewer since midway of the Allison season). I do like that we're not seeing any sort of racism or homophobia this year. Really don't like posters going on and on about how disliking/fearing Devin means we're racist and buying into the "angry black man stereotype" though. Slapping that on any incident involving a black man undermines all the real calling out of racism, as we saw in last year's unfortunate season. Devin is just a douche, maybe due to steroids, maybe an innate personality disorder, or maybe it's because he was a former Zanax addict. I think Big Brother was forced to show him in an unlikable way, due to the way he acts in the house all the time. I originally thought he was getting the Hero edit - I expected him to be my favourite (!) based on the first episode.

Maybe it's residual PTSD (of sorts) from last season, but I cringed when Christine (?) called Devin "scary." No. Just...no. He's strong-willed and slightly socially awkward -- but no more so than steroid-fueled Jessie. And I don't remember anyone ever calling that guy "scary."

Devin is many things, but I do not believe he is the "angry black man" stereotype.

I don't get the feeds but from what I've read, I DO believe that Devin is scary - because he's unpredictable and loses his temper (and direction) in a second. I don't think we should attribute being angry to his race but to his bulked up physique. It's been speculated on many threads that he looks like he goes thru 'roid rage - so in a sense, I see him as another version of Jessie, but one that lacks the humour of that cartoony hamster. I can't wait to see Devin go. We still will have a couple of crazies when he's gone - Caleb and probably Zack (although Zack came across as relatively sane if not strategic) in this episode.

  7. I missed the first half of the show but based on what I did see, I think the ballerinas really lucked out with great choreography. Their routines were my favourites - Jourdan with Marcquet (??) I think, and Zack with Jacquie. I was surprised that Malene was let go - thought her routine last week with Marcquet was fantastic. Tanisha would probably have been my pick for departure.

  8. This is pretty weird - I was checking out a link on Andi another poster had left and when I checked the news, I saw something about a former Bachelor contestant. It's about Jamie - the pretty, but unbalanced brunette that totally humiliated herself during Ben Flapjack's season - and compounded the humiliation when she later appeared on Bachelor Pad. Now she's on a wedding show - she agreed to marry a man, sight onseen. There are pathetic reality shows and then there is THIS:

    http://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/bachelor-alum-jamie-otis-weds-stranger-on-married-at-first-sight-201497

It's called Married at First Sight. Poor poor Jamie. If ever there was any proof that they don't bother to wean out the mentally or emotionally unstable before casting them for this show, this would be it.

  9. This time I don't know ANYTHING about the participants, other than one is a gay couple and they recently got married. Oh, and the celebrity couple here is the former ballet dancer Rex Harrington (!) and his husband. Should be interesting, as Rex was known to be outspoken and not afraid of speaking his mind. Last season my favourites were the two brothers, hoping there will be somebody else this season that I like as much.

  10.

I think that was more a process of elimination more than anything.  After Frankie and Donny, I don't know that there was a super obvious candidate.

I'd have thought home viewers would be up on the pair of Nerd Girls.

I was voting for the Nerd Girls, after my Donny was indeed, chosen. I also voted for Cody a few times, although I'm embarassed to admit I gave Caleb a couple of votes. (In my defense, it was late and they DO both begin with "C".) So happy nobody else accidentally voted for him - it would have been terrible if he'd been part of it.

I'm not a fan of Derrick myself. He just looks too much like a piggy, although I feel bad saying that. He obviously can't help the facial features he was born with...anyway, the more I hear about the feeds, the more unsure I am about whom I'm rooting for, besides Donny. So far, nothing he has done or said has turned me against him. I agree that he might be exaggerating his good qualities but I don't see anything wrong with that. We all do that, in specific social situations.

  11.

Don't Monarch butterflies only eat milkweed, which means they would be no threat to any crops. Unless they are magic butterfly eggs that hatch into larvae that eat corn, wheat, oats, etc.

Yeah, that's just what the Monarch Butterflies need, to be demonized as a crop threat. They are already endangered and need help. I'm not saying that fans of the Dome think this show is in any way educational and influential, but then again. non-sarcastic viewers that actually enjoy the plotlines and think they make sense, are...probably not too bright.

    Anything to get Barbie...

..naked or semi-naked would be a better plot contrivance, I think. Such as, it's necessary to do a Chippendales-type fundraiser to appease the Dome gods/goddess! Add new character Sam in the dancing and it's sealed - Under the Dome garners huge ratings esp. in the treasured 18-49 age group. I'd keep watching, if somehow it happened every week, no matter what happens plotwise.

I have to ask this of the "I have no idea who she is" people.

When you were in your teens, if an artist was on a hit TV program and then had the #1 album in the country and your parents didn't know who the heck they were, would that have shocked you?

No judgement here though.  All of us have gone through this on either the kid end or the adult end, or both, I'm sure.  I spoke about Lorde before, for example, and it took a few "are you serious" looks from people before I first figured out who she was or why anyone cared.

Hmmm well, if you're famous for being on a kids show (pre-teen presumably), would the target audience for BB be this young? I would think most rational parents would try to limit their young children's viewing of this show.  Also, I'm surprised that you would mention Lorde in the same sentence as this Ariana. I'm also quite a bit older, but a few of my friends told me how amazing she is, before she hit the big time. I seriously doubt anyone would extoll this woman's value. It would be like getting excited over a Bieber performance.

Now to find a way to get rid of the Chief of Staff so Jack can get some more love. If not there's Kate... (if I were to choose I'll take Kate over Audrey)

I find Audrey immensely more attractive than Kate.  She is elegant, dresses well, and takes care of herself.  Granted, Kate is a field agent and probably doesn't care what she looks like, but still.  I can't get over Kate's dark brown eyebrows and the fact that she looks like she could be balding.  Her hair is so thin looking.  Kate is a good agent, and a good partner to Jack, and they should leave it at that, otherwise she would likely die.

Ah, that's why it's so handy that different people have different tastes. I definitely think they have roughed up Yvonne's (Kate) looks, she was drop-dead gorgeous on Chuck. On the other hand,  I think Audrey is an insipid, entitled old hag. I've never liked her since the first moment she appeared on the screen. I completely blame Kim Raver, think she's a terrible actress and plain=looking just compounds my incomprehension as to why Jack would ever date her, let alone fall madly in love. Obviously I'm in the minority, the writers/producers must adore Raver, because they KEEP BRINGING HER BACK. I was definitely willing to lose Heller if it meant she would leave my screen immediately. I find him to be a boring old coot anyway, guess the chestnuts didn't fall far from the tree.

I've been a Jack-Chloe worshipper anyway, ever since she joined the show. She's obviously the only one that's his equal in smarts and chutzpah. Think she did a terrific job when she was thrust into the field. (Much better than poor Jordan anyway). I did see a promo shot of Kiefer with his leading ladies and was pleasantly surprised to see that Mary Lynn was the best looking of the women. Yvonne and Kim didn't hold a candle to her. She may not have classical beauty, but she definitely knows how to dress to accentuate her positive traits. Her hair and makeup were fantastic!

Favorite part of the episode: Jack digging out the transponder from Heller's arm...and then closing the gaping wound with a Band-Aid.

My favourite part was Heller crying out in pain...I thought wimp, they're going to do much worse to you, imagining torture. A drone strike is a mercy - if he's really dead, as I expect and hope, then he got off easy compared to Naveed (and Simone). A little disappointed that somebody above spilled the beans about Ian - I did suspect he might be the next Big Bad (until we see a higer-up in the organization. I certainly didn't see that in my preview.

  15. Hey, I studied at a mime school when I was 19! It's extraordinarily difficult, requires breaking down every action into several movements. Definitely a lot more to it than the standard Marcel Marceau impersonation that is always trotted out as an object of ridicule. I'm hoping that this trip actually inspires just a little respect for the difficult art. I'm saving my ridicule for the one-on-one date with Josh. Such a smarmy looking fellow. I find him highly unattractive and added to the fact that he's a jock, to me it wouldn't have made it past the first cocktail party, no matter what the producers of Bachelorette wanted.

  16. A

l was so distracted because I kept wondering if the actor who plays the evil Adrian Cross was the same guy who was in all those Folgers commercials where we were supposed to give a damn about him hooking up with his neighbor lady.

Did you mean the Taster's Choice commercial that starred Anthony Stewart Head (<3 Giles) pre-Buffy, back during 1987-1993? Michael Wincott plays the Julian Assuange type character in 24. ASH would have made a great choice, though. Especially for those of us entranced by his mentor character on Buffy.

  17. Joel: great comic timing and oh my! Those abs! I had no idea until I saw him in all those chest-baring shots on Community. I managed to catch his show when he came up to Canada and he was amazing! Great comic timing, lots of funny family comedy and the ability to improvise with the audience. I loved it. Now that he's no longer doing Community, I hope he is quickly snapped up to do something else. He appears to be a workaholic., Surely The Soup won't be enough for him. It's not enough for me.

  18. Couldn't agree more, Andyourlittledog2. I  watch The Soup mostly to be amused by Joel's comments, and secondly, to make fun of the actual clips themselves. I know some of these guests (maybe all?) are contractural obligations, but the ones that aren't, should be cancelled immediately. The only guests I've enjoyed were Joel's cast members on Community and now that it's gone, I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing Gillian or Jim anymore. I can't believe how unfunny all of those comics are.

I really disliked the juxtaposition between the stripping date and Andi's meltdown at being asked to pose nude during the JP season.  She expected them to do something she would not have done herself, and that's BS.  I understand she didn't conceive of the idea herself, but still.  And the whole "money goes to charity" sent up red flags all over the place.  That's about as vague as you can get.  If there really is a 501 (c )(3) called The Bachelor Gives Back, they need to identify exactly where their funds re going.  If you click the Bachelor Gives Back tab on the website, you get a blank page.

Jillybean: I had the same result when I clicked on the link, but when I then clicked "Give Back" it took me to another page with several well-known charities, such as The Starlight Foundation, The Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, St. Vincent Meal on Wheels etc. I don't know if this is a different link, but it's from the page with the actual results - http://thebachelor.warnerbros.com/give-back/  I can understand being concerned, I was annoyed when I read about The Celebrity Apprentice using the celeb's fundraising for their own foundation's tax write-offs,not to mention that many of these celebrity charities spend a high percentage of their monies on administrative costs. It sounds like these are more legitimate.

Regarding the stripper event, I agree that it sounds pretty tacky and concievably it would make one or two of the shyer men extremely uncomfortable. But overall, I agree with legaleagle, most men don't take it that seriously and in fact, it bolsters their ego. I remember seeing male strippers several times in my youth and what I got out of it was a total performance, with great dancing and good costumes. Most importantly, the dancers seemed to really enjoy themselves and I left feeling I'd seen a good show (although not really a turn-on for me). In contrast, the one time I saw female strippers they were unenergetic, unenthusiastic and looked completely bored. The only men paying attention to them looked as if they didn't have any real women in their lives. In a word, the experience was not fun. So I think this stripper experience was completely different from what Andi was asked to do. If I had been on the show (and hell would freeze over before I'd have considered doing anything like that); I'd have refused, even if it meant that they engineered events to get me off the show.

  20. Well, lawyers do have one of the highest ratio for divorces, so there's that. Maybe she's hoping to go into politics after this....does it look bad politically having appeared on The Bachelorette? So far, it seems a bit meh, but I definitely like her more than I did Juan Pablo in last year's introduction. Actually, I found him so boring/annoying/arrogant that I completely watched very few of the season's episodes. So far, I've made it thru most of this one. (I missed a bit of the beginning). Definitely a step up, in my view.
