  1. Matt's brother sounds like he had to memorize "the list" of questions that ABC provided him for the pull-aside.

I think Matt's mom cried out of relief because Michelle is such a doll and oozes goodness and calm.

  2. I'm sorry, but if I'm one of the Final 3 and the dude is saying he's just now had a magic conversation that he thinks will make him ready for marriage, I would see the writing on the wall right then. One conversation will not cure lifelong feelings of inadequacy and/or fear of commitment.

I hate how they all sit around now waiting for their turn to be intimate with the bachelor.  It’s so gross.  Reminds me of a cult or something...like they are being sacrificed to the cult leader one by one.  At least when they were separated it didn’t seem so seedy. Who wants to sit around with the person(s) that just slept with your boyfriend?   And walking out of their “dinner” in a conference room was just so romantic.

I hate that I have to watch these forced scenes. They add nothing to the journey.

  4. Typical Bachelor abuse. Guess Matt didn't qualify under the "My parents have been happily married for 30 years and I want to be just like them" clause A, so that enacted clause B, the "uncomfortable confrontation with my imperfect parent" clause where family is required to air all the private hurt and resentment, read the script, er, ask for "forgiveness," hug, then announce that everything is better.

  5. Wow this make Katie the Bachelorette interview segment was hardly convincing. Although a 30 year old Bachelorette is a nice change from the 25-26 year olds.

This cancel culture that is going on is very scary . Anything anyone says can automatically be taken out of context and your life is ruined. Heaven forbid Chris Harrison said that Rachael should be given some grace until she shares her side and her story .

I feel the same about cancel culture demanding people's heads on a plate. Is Matt asking for this rabid defense that is bringing down Rachel?  I'm sure that ABC has him muzzled but at some point the mob needs to put down their torches. I'm worried about Rachel, who is being filleted online. She issued an apology and I hope she is getting strong support. She deserves it. I thought Hannah Brown's slip up over the summer was way worse but she seems to be back in the fold and all is forgiven. Hypocrites.

I think I woke the house up this morning laughing at this line. Bravo, Rainsong!

I’m sure Kit knew her mom didn’t want her dragging home any of this dime store level fame. She may have thought it was cute that her daughter wanted to go get her own attention for something but I doubt she wanted to be fully dragged into it with a hometown date.

Or Cynthia Rowley was not going to quarantine or put her face on tv with these D-listers. Kit probably made a deal with her mom that she'd go on but bow out before hometowns.

Ok I was joking about Matt having no women left, but seriously this has to be a record for women dumped after dates...dumped by Matt or dumping Matt.

And that is why this is a great episode. Bye, Next! Bye, Next! Bye, Next!

It's got to be Rachel Lindsay don't you think?

One would hope. Hiring White Privilege Specimen #1 Ben Higgins would not please the mob. It's all via Zoom anyway, one would think. So perhaps not a huge give on Chris Harrison's part.

  11. I am surprised that Chris did not go into that podcast interview with Bachelorette Rachel with only one mission--to denounce racism in any form. I listened to the interview and he insisted that Matt's Rachel should speak for herself on her own actions, apparently she hadn't issued any statement at that point in time. He obviously had formulated a party line answer about Matt's Rachel ahead of time and his goal was to protect the show, which is still airing. But then Chris really veered into the defensive about the plantation parties and I think that was the unprepared Chris Harrison. In addition to his defense of the plantation parties, he also seemed to have forgotten that Bachelorette Rachel, whom he was speaking with, had most certainly also been the victim of racial bias at some point in her life and she was NOT the person to try and convince that plantation parties were all okay five years ago. (He did say five years ago.) He wasn't at all empathetic on the podcast. I get why Bachelorette Rachel was hurt by his response; she must have felt invisible to him as he rambled on defending plantation parties.  So he messed up lots of ways.

But how is this news? Chris is an executive producer and the franchise never picked a black man to lead the show, and yet, as soon as the BLM movement erupted over the summer, they couldn't pick one fast enough? We got lame Colton, Arie, etc., instead of other very viable, popular black men that should have gotten the lead if this show cared, but they didn't. It took riots across America to get the franchise to finally decide to put a black man in the lead.

A lot of those past contestants are only issuing statements because they're getting called out by fellow alumni who do regularly post about social issues, and also the segment of the fanbase that demands activism from Bachelor Nation influencers. I don't mind knowing where people stand on issues, but I don't see the value of bullying bystanders into empty words on issues they couldn't care less about in actuality, and that don't directly involve them.

I think it's one thing to actually do or say something racist and another thing to try to understand and forgive the person who did it.  We forgive people for worse things  than racism ( and yes there are worse things) and that forgiveness and attempt to understand is usually considered a good thing, even if we're talking about something like murder.  When we demand that everyone else jump on our dogpile we're asking for the sort of mob outrage that used to be directed at unwed mothers or homosexuals.

I visited the Bachelor reddit forum and whoa. There is supporting and standing up for what is right and then there is intimidation. Sean Lowe, who is a pretty upstanding Christian posted that he was on vacation away from the internet and his DMs were filled with people calling him a racist because he hadn't condemned Chris Harrison. This casting of stones by the mob is ugly and the reasonable ask that we understand and forgive the person for their racism is shouted out. Hmmm. Anyway, Chris is stepping back from the ATFR special, but he's a producer and he'll be back once the noise settles.

But I’ll still give him credit for not being the biggest famewhore like the others because he’s laid pretty low since his season , and being the lead usually shoots you in the foot because people love the person until they become the lead , then they are automatically “ boring” or not doing a good enough job .

Yes, having Gigi Hadid into you makes the Bachelor route unnecessary. But also, after the Gigi thing ended, Tyler's mom had an aneurysm and passed away last spring right before the pandemic hit. She was still in her 50s so he's been dealing with a lot emotionally in the past year.  They were close, and he has two younger brothers who he's been sticking to because of everything.

However, it was kind of a thing that Matt James was not initially supportive of Tyler and Hannah B. getting back together after she dumped him at Final 2. But Hannah came down to Jupiter for the funeral and she and Matt James befriended each other and Hannah ended up living with Matt and Tyler during the quarantine. Hannah and Heather are besties so that is how Matt knows Heather. But yeah. Heather could have met Matt before if she really wanted to. Maybe Matt just didn't want to. Anyway, they were all over Instagram as they styled themselves the Quarantine Crew. So if you were looking for Tyler and Matt content it was all over the place.
