I agree with all of this and it brings to mind only one question: Has he ever watched the shows (Bachelor and Bachelorette)?

I sometimes feel the "have they ever watched the show?" complaint is too easy to land on. The show only works because real humans come on it and fall in "like/love" which can sometimes be bubble-induced temporary feelings and sometimes be real, lasting feelings (for a rare few but still, they do count.)

A guy who watches one, maybe two seasons of the Bachelor before coming on is in no way educated on all the potential pitfalls of his position. Would a cursory watching of a few seasons give Greg a long, institutional knowledge of how the producers manipulate the relationships for ultimate drama? Or how the final 1/2/3 implode and leave sometimes, or implode and stay sometimes?  Enough data to protect himself and his heart in the heat of the moment while cameras are rolling to to make the right decision to stay or leave?

Women, who make up the majority of the audience and come on it knowing what to expect still can be blindsided and can't separate the show from their feelings.  They all leave or stay having watched the show; they either get dumped or picked, much to their own surprise, even after watching the show. So watching the show is really useless for most contestants and provides little insurance against a happy or unhappy ending.

I think Greg got on this show to break into acting.  He got as far as he needed to go, and then went completely cold on Katie, causing her to literally sit on the concrete at his feet like a puppy, begging him to hang in there.  Cue:  More coldness from Greg, as he's "done".  Cue:  What Greg thinks is a myriad of acting agents at his door.  I'm convinced of this.

Very interesting observation about his acting tells. The only thing is, there are almost zero breakthrough thespians from this show. The best you get is a podcast that you have to monetize quickly because in ten years you'll be a has-been. Instagram influencer is also a great way to monetize fame from this show.  If Greg really did choose The Bachelor/ette franchise as his way to get into acting then he really should have done his research.

her reaction led me to think that maybe she still has strong feelings for one of the other guys, probably Blake.  And I think he felt that too.  At a minimum, I think she wants to sleep with Blake before she gets engaged to anyone.  She is totally into his sexual chemistry.  She may want Greg, but she wants to test out Blake before committing.

I missed the first two dates, but Katie's stiff and stilted response to Greg's emotional decrees definitely came off to me that she was holding back because she was still undecided between Greg and Blake. She wanted Greg and Blake there at the end but Greg was in love with her. The problem wasn't that he was looking for her to say the right thing, the problem was that he didn't recognize the Katie that he was dealing with. I think he went back to her room not to quit, but to see if the old Katie was there, the old Katie who he went on the earlier dates with. And she was GONE. I saw that she was GONE. Do you think this is the first time the Bachelor Franchise swapped an original HUMAN with a Stepford Replacement?

I don't think Greg is an emotional wreck. I think he is emotionally observant and picked up hesitation on her part. I'd bail too if my heart was on the line and I got a second dose of an emotionally distant lead who I knew was just acting super happy with Blake and then really weird to me.  I don't think I've ever seen a lead shut down with their supposed F1 to the point Katie did. I'm wondering if Katie used the rules of the show as a way to get out of the awkwardness of leading Greg on and then being way into Blake.

  4. wow. Greg was right to go. Something changed in Katie. It was obvious she was checked out. Greg wasn't asking for reassurance that he was the final one ... he was asking her why she was SUDDENLY so distant/robotic/unresponsive to him that night. And she didn't help the situation by telling him how hard it was going to be. Katie probably didn't even understand what was going on in her own heart/mind but she was definitely not the same to him. I don't think she loved him because she said she was "falling in love with him" but if she loved him she wouldn't have shut down like that in the face of his vulnerability.

  5. Kids say the darndest things. He was right to high tail it home. Plus I think his and Katie's "relationship" was Bachelorette bubble-induced and he was never going to be the winner.

Ugh .. now The Men Tell All?  The worst.

I like that at the end of the day Andrew got to reject her and leave with his dignity in tact. I felt what he said about wanting his future wife to choose him. I hope he's the next Bachelor.

That's exactly the emotion that the producers were going for in that fake, scripted-manufactured scene.

  7. "We kind of had this opportunity to have this one last goodbye, er, Bachelor audition."

"This is so hard, but I know in the bottom of my heart, that I'm one step closer to finding my husband,  er, Andrew is one step closer to being the Bachelor with this badly acted reunion of regret and necessary rejection.

  8. Greg is getting the rain special effects and the orchestral Disney happy ending soundtrack in the background .. so I'm guessing he'll break her heart in the end somehow because I saw a preview with a lot of crying and Katie wanting to go home.

  9. Some intern needs to be fired for that fake market. They must have spent all their time driving to the nearest Costco to clear out their flower stand and then had no time to set up anything extra.  Throwing the fish will now be the new jumping the shark for this series.

  10. The self-care angle is a new low. But that's what we get in these covid-lite seasons.

Hunter is a super fan on a forum?! Oh, I wish he were from our forum.

Where do you think he posts? Reddit? Maybe here a long time ago?

I believe that is pronounced, "IT'S A LAWT."

We say it in my house all the time post her season.

You are my people @ Alexander Pope. I say it all the time too.

This "self-care" angle is a new low for the franchise. They are out of ideas for covid-shutdown seasons so we as the viewers are served this.

  12. Um, Hunter's interrupter is wearing a black turtleneck, black suit, slicked back hair and a silver necklace. What is this guy thinking with his getup? I'm sorry I don't know his name.

  13. I always wonder why the contestants still cry about being booted off of the current seasons of American Idol. Being relegated to the musical guest on The Bachelorette is about all the latest winners are getting from the prize.

  14. Blake has studied the Tyler Cameron Method of appearing vulnerable by being afraid of horses.  I think he must have bought every season of this series on Amazon Prime and knows his stuff.
