“I was the bitch of daytime,” she said in a 2016 interview. “I played a good bitch.”

She sure did play a good bitch, at least on Y&R. Dina was the type who in a lovely way could tell you to go eff yourself and you'd thank her. Then hours later you'd realize what she actually meant. We don't see many characters written with that kind of subtlety anymore.

  2. The previews shown today:

Cole is fiddling with a doll while Victoria is looking on. It probably does have something to do with Claire.

But, given way JG has been dragging out the Jordan and Claire storyline, I didn't automatically jump to the conclusion that this time next week the audience would know much more about Claire's status or whereabouts than they do now. That's why I wondered if further details had been posted as a spoiler elsewhere. Sorry for the confusion.

next week, they will finally address what happened to Claire.

Is this speculation or an actual spoiler? Spoilers should be masked if they're posted in this thread instead of the existing spoiler thread.

Somebody should tell Mrs. Martinez about Ashley. She's going to order grits and call her Mammy.

Then Mrs. Martinez will be in the kitchen muttering under her breath and Harrison will run out to the living room yelling, "Aunt Ashley's a puta loca!"

  4. Wait, Ashley wasn't doing the Southern belle accent.

Oh, okay, belle Ashley was pretending to be main Ashley. Oy, keeping track of all these Ashleys is giving me agita!

Not a fan of Mariah's dress. IMO the color of that tiger print didn't compliment her skin tone or hair color.

It's something the way Audra's makeup stays perfect while she's having a romp in bed with Tucker. One of them must be slacking, lol.

Traci, you're still not the boss of Ashley. Ease up with the nagging.

Tucker zoomed right in on Ashley's new alter. Let's go!

If it's Friday, Devon must acting like a whiny billionaire biatch. He's probably right about Billy though.

Why is belle Ashley calling Tucker "daddy issue"? She doesn't know Audra like that.

Tucker, stop wasting your time trying to reason with Traci. She tends to think her view is the only correct one. And all the Abbotts believe you did something sinister to Ashley's psyche.

So teen Ashley's "gone," replaced by belle Ashley. Oh no.

"That's not gonna be hard at all." AFAIC, whoever wrote that line--said in the context it was--should feel very ashamed. Other double entendres are pointing and laughing at it.

Billy working Lily through fond memories of his kids. Don't fall for his schmoozing, Lily!

As if, Tucker. No one in GC would be coming to your big fantasy wedding to Audra. No one besides Ashley's alters.

  5. ^^^It would be more like if Elaine Benes said it to Summer:

Regarding the IRL story of the missing Australian baby, 30+ years later a bit of the child's clothing was found buried near a dingo lair. DNA tests proved the blood on the clothing was indeed the baby's. Her mother had served several years in prison for murder before the evidence was found and she was released. Later she was officially pardoned and the Australian government paid her over a million dollars in compensation.

Heh, I think the best we're going to see on Y&R is Jordan convicted of murder and kidnapping, and Victor at least charged with kidnapping. <fingers crossed>

  6. A few more musings on yesterday's (Thursday) episode:

This Jordan is dead story has to be backed by the law enforcement authorities, right? I wonder how Victor got them to agree to pretend she's lost in the river? Or is he b.s.-ing them too?

And how did Victor get chloroformed Jordan from the alley in town out to the ranch? He had to have had help, from his security people I guess?

If Victor's been following Nikki surely he's seen her tipping back her flask of vodka. But he doesn't act like knows she's still drinking. Not sure why he'd be humoring her when what she's doing is so dangerous.

The Y& R wardrobe staff must've gotten a good deal on stretchy jeans/jeggings. Victoria, Summer, and Diane have been wearing them the past few days.

  7. Phyllis trying to make Harrison's kidnapping all about herself. Of course.

Cole the wannabe domestic goddess, working his way back to Victoria's heart through her tummy. Hmm.

Okay, I thought it was poignant moment when Summer was reassuring Harrison she and Kyle still loved him. But geez, enough with the Emmy bait for AL.

"That Jordan broad." Oh, Victor, never change. You can't call your wife Nikki by her name but you don't seem to run out of ways to refer to Jordan.

I kinda agree with Phyllis on one thing: it is odd that Summer or Nick didn't tell her about Harrison's kidnapping or Jordan's long reign of terror against the Newmans.

So Victor made up a story about Jordan falling off a bridge to get Nikki to stop going after Jordan. He better produce a body though. Soon.

Good grief, did we need another whole scene for Phyllis and Nick to prop Summer in her absence? Hey you two! Your StuporGirl is a loon who's fixated on another woman's child.

At first I was surprised Victor also lied to Jack about Jordan dying but he probably realized that if Jack knew the truth he'd eventually tell Nikki.

Whoa, Jordan's in Victor's old cellar jail. He must've been feeling nostalgic. 🙄

From the mouths of babes. What now, Summer? Are you going to browbeat little Harrison too about how Claire is the devil's disciple?

If the call at the end of the episode was from Claire, hopefully Victoria's phone is being monitored by law enforcement and/or Victor's crack security team. Nah, that'd be too easy. This nightmare has to drag on forever. 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Could someone please slap Summer silent? Her raging about Claire is based on jealousy.  There’s a new Newman and she’s younger and smarter than Fangs filthy daughter and Fang Spawn can’t stand it.  And for the 50th time. HARRISON IS NOT YOUR SON! You chose Mama Fang over your family.
Speaking of Fang, must she always dress like a 60 year old hooker?  There’s Diane looking casual yet elegant and Phyllis has to show up looking like she’s ready to walk the streets. Fang Jr  has inherited the need to show off her shoulders I noticed. Such a tired overdone look on this show.
Didn’t Victor lock the first Mrs Newman in the basement years ago? If he wants to torture Jordan into giving up Claire’s whereabouts, he could send Phyllis down there to talk to her about what a hot grandma she thinks she is.  After Jordan is done barfing, she will sing like a canary.

    All the truth!

Someone really needs to sit Phyllis down and have a meaningful chat with her about her clothes. She doesn't look like the hot grandma, she looks like someone desperately afraid to accept their age.

I'm not sure who the person would be to initiate the talk with her because Phyllis tends not to listen to things she doesn't want to hear. Plus she has people like Lauren blowing smoke up her hiney, when Lauren has her own issues with the often inappropriate way she dresses.

I think Phyllis has done a good job of keeping her body tight and I can understand why she'd want to show off the results of her efforts. But yeah, Diane proves how it's possible to highlight one's older woman slimness and still look classy. Phyllis could stand to take a note or two.

Malcolm could fill that role.  The original is out of the question, but I wouldn't be opposed to a recast.  Or a recast Olivia, for that matter.

Yep, I'd be okay with a recast Olivia. Malcolm is another story though because the last time TPTB recast him I thought it was a disaster on multiple fronts.

IMO Shemar owns the role of Malcolm. He can always make guest appearances on Y&R until CBS decides to stop playing whatever shell game they have going on with the S.W.A.T. show.

BTW speaking of Supergirl, wasn't Summer at one point deathly allergic to peanuts?  Whatever happened to that?  Did she outgrow it or was it just never mentioned again?

No, it hasn't been forgotten. A couple of months ago Chance told Summer he liked lettuce, peanut butter, and mayonnaise sandwiches, and Summer told him that was a definite no-go for her since she can't eat peanut butter.

The Winters family on this show, at this point, it's really the Barber family.  Only Lily is a biological Winters and Devon is an adopted Winters.  But Lily, Devon, and Nate are all Barbers (Devon being an adopted Barber).  Mamie's sister married a Barber.

Mamie's not a Barber either though. I think that group of characters has long been thought of collectively as the Winters family and TPTB are sticking with it because they've decided to deify Neil.

For a long time I had been saying the Winters crew needed a patriarch or matriarch because Neil's photo doesn't cut it. I was hoping they'd bring back Olivia but apparently the actress who played her has solidly refused more than once. AFAIC Mamie is not the answer. Both Lily and Devon barely tolerate her and Nate seems to humor her because it doesn't cost him anything.

  11. Seeing murderous Jordan hovering over Harrison on the bed gave me the creeps. I think TPTB should've rethought the staging of those motel room scenes.

I feel so dumb. In my mind, Southern belles drank mint juleps, not tequila. Ashley's new alter is already teaching me new things! 😉

Belle Ashley needs to work on her sashay though. It should be more natural, like she's been doing it since puberty, tee hee.

Stop acting brand new, Traci. You know darned well your big sis was ready to be 5150'd two alters ago. Ease up on the mother hen stuff.

If the average person's stepchild had been kidnapped by a psycho would they be sitting around in a coffeehouse weeping and pouting? Summer wanting her brother's comfort seemed logical to me but why do it in public?

MTS working hard on that Emmy reel with Nikki's angry soliloquies. I ain't mad at her.

Traci wants Ashley's therapist friend in Paris to make a housecall across an ocean. Seriously? What about his other patients? Guess they'll just be SOL because the Abbotts can throw more money at him.

"Femme Magique." Eh, that perfume name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, Southern belle Ashley. You better have Jabot's marketing department come up a catchier one.

Hey, someone who shall remain nameless appeared to have applied a fresh coat of Kiwi to their hair! 😼

Finally! Harrison is rescued and Jordan is gets to take a little nap until she slips from custody again.

    Meanwhile, where is Claire?

It's hard to comment among friends here because your posts may disappear before reading. Kyle and all his friends and relatives have had unkind remarks about their fashion choices and hairstyles and choices of mates...

The difference is their poor fashion choices and hairstyles don't get attributed to them because they're White, or because their fashion choices and hairstyles don't read as White. Not overtly, anyway. Kyle et al are generally seen as "normal" people who just happen to make bad choices with their fashion and hair sometimes.

    Quote

Let's not be techy about comments on certain characters who may be of minority groups. It's NOT just Mamie's odd hairstyle that is at issue...it's her character. And as a member of another ethnic group, I admit that I LOVE the Afro hair of Shemar Moore's wife on SWAT. Mamie's "do" is another whole animal. Middle Daughter and I have been attending a majority Black church for decades and I've never seen a "do" like Mamie's. And nobody has had a negative comment on my white blonde ringlets. It's the personality, not the person.

Yes, there are two issues, Mamie's hairstyle and Mamie's characterization. I think the problem arises when it's deemed okay to mock certain ethnic and cultural choices associated with her because she arguably has a grating personality. IMO one of those things is not necessarily the cause of the other.

And, let's not tell posters like me not to call out what we see as discriminatory based on decades of experience, even if the intent wasn't based in malice.

(I'd also caution against using "some of my best friends are Black"-type justifications. It's not a guaranteed pass.)

  13. Dick Wolf loves to recycle storylines between his TV shows. Not only did Law & Order recently have a surrogacy episode, FBI: Most Wanted has done one this season with a religious cult compound. Wolf needs to get a series on ABC so he spread the wealth even more, lol.

  14. Today I again wondered why Chance wasn't brought in on the C-W board vote. I think he'd have made as much sense as Devon wanting cousin Nate on the board.

Kyle mentioned nuHarrison is seven now. Hmm, the kid didn't look a day over five and a half to me. 😉

Those white jeggings Victoria's been wearing are not doing her any favors. IMO she has a butt like soggy pancakes. Do some squats, Vik. 😼

The show seems to have expanded the Newman ranch. Now we're seeing more of the anterooms and hallways adjacent to the tiny living room. Kind of looks like they borrowed stuff from Nick's house set which hasn't been shown as much since Nick doesn't have a front- burner storyline.

  15. "You're dealing with guys who are men of their word." Sounds exactly like what someone getting ready to pull a fast one would say, Victor. I wouldn't trust you as far as Harrison could throw you.

Abby said she's had to abstain on quite a few family votes. Seriously? Neither the Abbotts nor the Newmans would barely ask Abby what time it is, much less include her family votes. Poor thing has no idea just how left out of family things she is.

The ad hoc Three Musketeers Stooges theatened to tell Jordan Dave ratted her out. She'll likely think that anyway so not much of a threat.

What is Billy up to? He thinks he can trick Lily into helping him take over C-W? Boy, bye. And stop it with the Dark Knight Batman voice.

Hey, it's Mamie. I think fruitcakes are less nutty than Auntie. Seems like Lily has Mamie's number too.

"Once and for all," Victor? That's what you said the last 947 times you were sure you had Jordan in your clutches. How are Jack and Kyle keeping straight faces around this blowhard?

  16. The show seems to be chem testing Lily and Billy again. Spumors are afoot that they're going to get back together romantically. Meh.

The Tack House sure has gotten bigger. Maybe it's like Dr. Who's phone booth and is infinitely larger on the inside than it appears from the outside.

Guess Abbby is still blissfully unaware that her cousin's young son has been kidnapped and half her family thinks her new niece did it. And that a murderous psycho is now terrorizing both of sides of her family. Because if she did know, hopefully the last thing she'd be doing is trying to vote in a silly board meeting at her baby daddy's company.

So when VictorNewman and the Abbott boys were talking about how Jordan must have an accomplice, and then Nikki asked Victoria where Cole was… did anybody elsés minds go there? Just me??

No, my mind has sorta been there ever since Cole went back to Jordan's house in OR to get a hairbrush or something so he and Victoria could secretly test Claire's DNA. The test results were sent only to Cole's phone,  he simply showed the screen to Victoria, and she accepted it without question. How does anyone know Cole actually went to OR, and how does anyone know he actually got a DNA test done? It all could be a scam to hook Claire in with the Newmans so she can get a $$$ trust fund.

I have a hard time buying though that Cole's also working with Jordan. I think maybe he and Claire figured the Jordan problem would quickly take care of itself. Since it hasn't, I think he and Claire have been  improvising but things have gone off the rails because Jordan is trying to become a Marvel supervillain.

Heh, apparently Lauren's already served her time because per Worn on TV she wore that monstrosity on Y&R back last December. GC's loss was LA's recycled gain.

Why is Lauren jumping back and forth between both shows anyway? If there needs to be a character doing double duty, I vote for $Bill Spencer. It would give Abby and Ashley chills due to his amazing resemblance to Brad Carlton. Sally'd likely get nervous to see him too since he almost killed her once upon a time.

  18. The electronic hip-hop music when Billy walked into Society sounded like it was AI-generated. Ehh.

Abby not wearing a pastel color. What sorcery is this? 🤯

So, both of Lily's kids are in CA now and Billy's on good but distant terms with Katie and Johnny. Okay.

Jordan knows how to drive a semi. Will this woman's talents ever cease?

Nikki didn't have Claire's cell number and had to ask Victoria for it. Seemed odd to me. I don't know why Claire's number would be a secret from any of the Newmans.

AFAIC Summer needs five fingers across the face. What do any of them gain by arguing about whether Claire is in cahoots with Jordan? Either she is or she isn't, and there's nothing anyone can do about it right now.

Billy. Thought you'd chummy up to Lily and she'd be putty in your hands. Lol, no. Dru's daughter was not born yesterday and you knew that. Idiot.

Nikki was half drunk but she was right about Nick. He'll swing his fists first and ask questions later. And he's already had a run at Jordan which didn't stick. Leave him out of it, Victoria.

Chance, the best you can do now is tell the feds and other law enforcement that Victor is going rogue and let them deal with it. Victor clearly has no respect for you and probably never will.

Really, William? Lily should trust you over her brother? FOH.

Six people are the total C-W board. CI alone would've had more than that before it merged with H/W. The math ain't mathing. (Plus, why isn't Chance on the board too? He's Jill's grandson.)

Victor coming in the room all ominous and gangster like he's frigging Tony Soprano. This guy can't walk more than a couple of feet without sitting down. GMAFB. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I can't believe the C-W board of directors vote is what's passing for Y&R corporate intrigues now.

$100,000? Pshht, mere pocket change for both Victor and Jack. The truck driver better have craftier negotiation skills than to accept such a paltry amount. Assuming he even knows anything about Jordan.

  19. I just noticed Rayner's ears. Is he Romulan or Vulcan or something?

Apparently Burnham and Book are going to be just coworkers and not lovers. Sure. Even Burnham doesn't have that kind of willpower.

Those weren't very good drones if two-legged beings could outrun them.

Book was using the 32nd century's version of Tor, ha ha. There's always going to be a "dark web" it seems.

Oh no, Moll is Book's kinfolk? That's going to be messy.

Rayner as #1 for Burnham. This should be interesting since they're both so headstrong. Burnham doesn't want a "yes man" until she realizes her ego does.

  20. Another season of Burnham being insufferable. Yay!

Tilly looked different to me. The hairdo I guess. Meanwhile, Oded Fehr's still aging like fine wine.

"By any means necessary." Well, Burnham was guaranteed to take that as a challenge and turn it into an even more complicated mess.

Burnham riding a spaceship like a surfboard will never not be ridiculous to me.

Book! How you doin', baby? 😍

Yeah, Captain Rayner sort of resembled Daniel Craig. I had to look at him hard even though I knew Craig would never be guest starring on a show like this. Does he even do TV roles?

Tilly is so socially awkward. That guy she was talking to at her job was totally down for some grownup activities.

    Fred was one weird Synth.

And of course Captain Rayner had to cede control of his ship to Burnham because she insisted it was the only way. 🙄

Poor Saru. Space love is hard and T'Rina knows she better lock him down before he can talk himself out of it.

Kovich let Burnham browbeat him into giving her the top secret info. Whhhyyyy????

"Let's fly." Still has to be IMO the most meh ST captain's catchphrase ever.

This episode certainly seemed to me like they were recycling some things from ST: Picard. At least the show sort of acknowledged it.

  21. It must have taken a lot of emotion as well as brute strength to stab such a big man in the chest and actually kill him.

Right away I wondered about someone associated with the woman the murder victim mistakenly went to prison for raping. You'd think that's one of the first places the detectives would've gone.

The law firm took 90% of the victim's exoneration money? How is that legal?

The suddden arrival of the defendant's speeding ticket was awfully convenient.

Yeah, the defendant's wife looked sus from the moment the detectives first interacted with her. She had access to his hats and may have had a matching puffer jacket. She was probably looking forward to having the social cachet enjoyed by the wife of a judge and decided to eliminate the one threat. But I wonder if her husband knew and thought he'd have an easier case to defend.

The Newmans did not give a shit about Harrison until this week.

Right? I doubt any of them could've picked Harrison out of a lineup, even if he'd had his name stamped on his forehead. And Jordan likely would've never made the connection between Harrison and the Newmans if Summer hadn't been running around calling him her son. 23. Various mac 'n' cheeses. How many kinds are there?

The dip. That word has some questionable slang meanings. I would've gone with "signer's remorse" or something less potentially problematic.

Ava almost Yoko Ono'd The Roots.

Melissa's impressions all sounded alike to me.

Barbara proceeded to read Ava like she was the original King James Bible before it was translated into English. Then Questlove actually showed up.

  24. Out in other soap forum world someone made a good point: shouldn't Harrison's room be considered a crime scene and blocked off?

Nikki, strong minty breath on a known alcoholic is a dead giveaway.

Victor. How many traps have you and Nikki set for Jordan already? None of which have worked! I don't know how Jack managed not to cuss Victor out. 🤬

Wow, Victor completely deflecting blame for Jordan back onto Jack. Dude, Jack was right. You should've either killed Jordan or turned her over to legal authorities when you had the opportunity. You Newmans assuming you're above the law and invincible has made you sitting ducks.

I think whoever is writing the Connor storyline really should have done better research. They're making Adam sound like Connor has paranoid schizophrenia or something way worse than OCD.

Generally I don't have a problem with the word "b!tch" but Victor used it at least twice today. It was not sitting right with me. He may not be a misogynist IMO but he hangs out in their neighborhood a lot.

AYFKMWTS, Nikki? You can't even get control over your drinking so the likelihood of you finally outfoxing Jordan is nil. You Newmans are almost your own worst enemies.

Summer: oh Chance, I'm afraid I'm never going to see my son again!
Chance: Summer, sweetie, who is this "my son" of whom you speak?
Summer: not you too! You and those mean internet people should shut up!
    Chance: <gulp>

So, no Amber Alert issued for Harrison because it would piss off Jordan. WTAF. This storyline has plotholes big enough to fly the space shuttle through.
