  1. I started watching this and thought "wow... good for you Lindsey  - you actually got your shit together!"   but holy smokes... the way she berates people about how they should act.. how they should be in life.... I don't care if you're good friends with Oprah - YOU ARE NOT OPRAH!  You don't get to give these people life lessons. Just because it comes out of your mouth and you're the boss, does not mean you're always right.  She always sounds like she's in some other universe.

The new guy that came with Kailah is nearly non-existent. What a great addition he was to make sure the newbies were on their feet.

When they were talking about it not being as safe as it once was, they're right. It's not just crime, it's the vibe. Accidentally cut someone off or not pay attention in a parking lot, you worry the person has a gun or an anger problem. I've even seen old people going at each other over a parking space by Sprouts. The vibe is hostile, impatient.

I wouldn't want to retire there nor would I ever want kids growing up there. I can't figure out what people see in living there long term and why people are still pouring in. It's becoming a crowded cesspool of anger.

When they talked about last night I was kinda like "OH, ok. totally didn't think of how it would be to live there after that happened"   Now I'm not sure if that was actually a main reason for them or a convenient excuse for their storyline but for a normal family it would make sense.

If it's a singing competition, who should win, if not the greatest singer?

But then why have people on who obviously can't sing? Like Tori Spelling.

I actually prefer a premise of people who you would never expect could sing - like Rumor Willis.

I have also noticed that they are sort of hiding the singers true singing voice sometimes also.  They've done it to peacock when he obviously doesn't need it. But they did it a lot with singers who couldn't sing.  It makes them sound a little robotic.

I really think there is some other reason that this family needs to get out of Vegas all of sudden and we aren't being told.

I think we have been told - Kody doesn't want to live there and at last 1 of the other wives doesn't want their kids growing up there either.  The part we aren't being told about is that they need to sell their houses because of the payments going up (i fully believe that) so Kody is thinking of it as the perfect time to get outta dodge.

And during Kody’s TED Talk (thanks to the poster who coined that!), she looked genuinely angry and ready to fight for her kids. What changed? I suppose Kody’s pouting and Manson glares are like water dripping on a stone.

She probably realized she was on the losing end of the battle.

I wonder why there wasn't some way that Kody could have taken all four wives at once.  They have LOTS of older kids and even married kids to watch the little ones.  (Tony looked ginormous, as usual.)  I guess that would make too much sense to have all of the wives weigh in at once.

That was actually the smartest thing he did - was taking them individually.  Otherwise it'd be mass chaos as they went to each house and each plot of land with what each one hated about each location.  The move would have been dead in the water on the trip back home.  I don't think he enjoys hanging out with them as a group at all (which I kinda don't blame him)

Robyn is such a bad liar. Way to use your kids to try to convince Meri to move. Do you think that Meri even got a trip alone with Kody to Flagstaff, ARIZONA?

Per the clip from the upcoming episode, Meri does get her own trip with him.

So which kid stayed behind? Cause I thought it was Gabe and then seeing him I said "nope, not him, I've never seen this kid EVER!"   Did one of the boys graduate before they moved? He's kind of a bigger guy.

One thing that cracked me up in Joey's interview that I posted above is when he said that Lance Bass called after the second episode and that he knew it was him. Of course he knew! He recognized Joey's body, his mannerisms, dance moves, his voice, etc. It reminded me about the discussions we always have on the Flash forum about how ridiculous it is people who know Barry and the other superheros best don't recognize them just because they are wearing masks and suits.

I was reading on Twitter and the Joey die-hard fans knew instantly that it was him too.  I immediately knew it was someone from N'Sync because of his clues in the very first package.  But I thought it was JC because the rabbit looked too small for Joey (and now after listening to the pod case I know why)

I’ve suspected the Monster might win since the first episode when the first shot of the show is a slow pan of him standing at the entrance to a cave. That introduction also included is proformance of “Stay With Me” and Jenny crying over it. The Lion is the only other contestant who sings in that intro. They started trying to convince everyone how amazing the Monster is very early.

And he almost got knocked off the very first episode! It would be a major come-back win.

    21 minutes ago, SimoneS said:

There is a YT video of Joey singing My Girl so the show must have missed that one.

I was confused about that too. On the podcast he says they couldn't do songs they have done before yet then goes on to say that there are videos and recordings of him doing My Girl - so that didn't make much sense.

I predicted the Lion, but thought the Peacock would also go so I really am shocked that the Rabbit was unmasked.

I enjoyed Kenan also. We are getting two more episodes so we will be down to two finalists in episode 10.

    The emojis are cute!

I wasn't shocked after his song choice - he was great but as a choice for him it was terrible because we're so used more flashy stuff with him.  It was too mellow.  I knew it would between him, Lion and Peacock.  Because lion's song was not familiar to me and Peacock's was sort of 'meh'. He needs flashy stuff too.  He really should have left the greatest showman song for his finale.

I think this is fixed even more than I thought it was.As soon as Nicole said she didnt like Joey's song, I knew he was leaving.

They want a Monster win, and it shows.

I think they want the monster to win because of his back story and they feel sorry for him.  However I think the Bee will win because it's obviously some music legend from back in the day. HOWEVER i think it's a greater story for the show if Monster wins because technically people wouldn't consider a rapper having such a great voice (if it is T-Pain).  Because if Bee wins then each season will be like "ok the greatest singer will win every year" and how fair is that?

On 2/21/2019 at 3:44 AM, Eolivet said:

I like that Monster has reinvented himself week after week. It would be interesting to see them have to do "themes" like on Idol (ballad week! Broadway week! the Year You Were Born?) I enjoyed Bee until she started doing older songs -- I want to hear "Locked out of Heaven" and "Wrecking Ball" with that voice, not already-sung-well classics like "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Natural Woman."

Peacock has a problem with song choice, too -- but it's more like ... forgettable song choice. I'd be curious if there were song choice shenanigans going on, like those that happened on Idol.

I've been Team Monster since the first week -- to me, he's the best performer, and the only one who's figured out this is basically Idol-in-masks. You can't just stand-and-sing. You have to have a progression, you can't get stuck in a box, and song choice is key. Monster for the win, for me.

Their song choices are really questionable sometimes. Like really, THAT's what you want to sing?? Some of those songs just aren't great songs to sing with while they're playing on the radio.

But did he explain they weird tic he kept doing in his performances?

He sort of explained it after he was unmasked. He said he was playing a part and had fun being a character.

Congratulations to all who guessed "The Lion"  and  "The Rabbit" correctly.  😃

I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone  (Robin Thick) to guess that "The Monster" might be Darius Rucker.   I had made that guess several weeks ago.  It probably isn't him, but many of the clues I think fit.

It never occurred to me that "The Peacock" might be Weird Al Yankovic.

Nah, the voice isn't Darius Rucker at all. I think it's more similar to Jamie Foxx than anyone out of their ridiculous guesses.

I am the new person on the forum and this may have been discussed before. What are they being judged on? Performance? Voice? Ability to fool everyone? I mean, for most the Bee is going to win on voice every time. Peacock (and Rabbit) will usually have performance in the bag. And so on.

I don't think they're judged on anything - they showed the voting screen last night and all it says is "who was your favorite performance?"  and it's likely judged on rated best to worst.

If Monster really is T-Pain and is being set up for the win, I wonder how big of a letdown that would be for some viewers? Enough to put them off watching next season?

Not trying to stereotype, but I'd guess T-Pain is the least recognizable celebrity for people over 30ish or those who don't follow rap. Older viewers may also be less likely to search online for clues. It seems like a certain segment of the audience might be slightly disappointed during the winner's reveal if their only response is: "Who the heck is that?"

I kind of agree - I only know T-Pain by name.  Nothing else. And I feel like I'm fairly knowledgable about musicians.

Is it just me or did the Lion not sound as good as previous nights? I have always been favorably impressed with her singing, but last night both she and the Monster sounded off to me on a couple of notes.

Yea some of her high notes were off and that's when I knew she wasn't professional. But she's still really good.

I think it’s interesting that Nicole guessed that Lion was a “white Kelly Rowland”.  All of the others guessed African-American women that were in girl groups.  Curious as to how Nicole could tell that Rumer had a “white tone” to her voice while none of the others including professional singer Robin could tell and pretty much from the start everyone assumed it was an African-American woman.

Before Nicole said that I totally said "that's a white girl - she sounds white!"

I was in pretty big denial that Lion was Rumor. Probably just as I was in denial that alien was Latoya  lol

And I don't want the peacock to be Donny! It would be awesome if it were NPH.

Do any of these people on this show have real jobs?  Do any of the kids work?  I sure hope the IRS keeps a good watch on them!

Well we know Mykelti works at a bank... and I'm pretty sure Logan has a job.  There's a couple in the military, right? So they'll probably continue on with that.  Maddie and Caleb are in school - Maddie is or was doing LLR so while it's not a traditional job.. its at least something. And I would be kind of shocked if Caleb wasn't working. Mariah probably does not have a job because in between her classes she's too busy taking pictures at trendy coffee shops and eating her avocado toast. Oh and going to spinning classes.

Honestly I thought it was nice to hear that Kody expects all of his kids to go to college. In some of these other larger families that are just interested in getting their kids married off... even though they probably aren't as religious as they used to be, it's nice to hear that education is expected.

  10. So I'm not paying much attention to most of the timelines... but the Sarah, Michael and Megan saga must be going on at least a month right?  Because he didn't talk to her for 2 weeks when he was released, then she came up and now she's visiting again. So maybe 3-4 weeks tops.

BUT then I happened to see Scott and Lizzie.... "5 days after being released" WHAAAAAAAT OMG  get on with the freaking show!

Honestly I thought his hair looked great in his talking heads.  Whatever stylist used the diffuser on him needs to permanently attach it to his hand. The sad mess he usually wears on his head is REALLY bad.  And he probably washes it, then brushes it and air dries and it turns into that thin stringy mess.

Janelle was so strong on not moving and hurting Gabe like she did Hunter and Logan.  What do you suppose made her agree to uproot Gabe and move to Flagstaff?  I wanted to cheer for Janelle as she seemed to be the only one getting what it would do to the kids to move them with 2 years left in high school.  Christine seemed at first to get it with her sadness over Gwen running for class historian but then she caved so quickly.....

    Spoiler

I think Gabe ended up staying behind?

Their fake reason for moving is really not believable.   No one says "oh we have to move because we can likely get a lot of money out of our houses right now! even though we have no other reason to move!"  Like they couldn't downsize in LV for a few years?

And Jenelle... if your marriage is not going to be great the first 20 years... then that's a marriage you really shouldn't be in!

  15. I wouldn't be surprised if that hairstyle was mandated by the cheer coach.  From what I've seen/heard/read elsewhere they're pretty strict with how the girls are made up and usually have to look similar.

Now not really sure why you would want hair that high when you're dancing and tumbling around.... seems like it would get in the way at some point or just plain feel weird and throw you off.

I listened to his show when he talked about his 'wounded inner child' and while he seemed to "get" what the therapist was trying to do - I also was thinking "yea... there's no way he actually sticks to this...he just can't"   So while it sounds all good and well, I think it takes more than 1 therapist session talking to your 'inner child'.

However it did resinate with me a bit.  I find that I can lash out at friends after building up a lot of tension. And then I feel stupid because it feels very high school-ish. Makes me wonder what age my inner-child is lol

I'm not sure how to interpret that--Nathan told Kaiser to not speak badly of Jenelle? Nathan told his mom/girlfriend not to badmouth Jenelle around Kaiser?--

I found that interesting as well and am actually curious on Nathan's view of why he said that.  But kudos for Jenelle to come back with a "and we don't talk badly about anyone".  I thought that was nice when she usually would have come back something nasty about nathan.

Do I understand cash bars correctly? My son and daughter in law ( late 30’s) paid for their wedding ( we paid rehearsal dinner and bought/ did flowers) they had cash bar and champagne toast but eventually when the bar hits $300 then drinks are free. So my ex made it known during reception he went up paid the $300 at the bar so drinks were then free. I told my table to belly up to the bar and bring me one. They were on tight budget had 80 people at beautiful location outdoor ceremony and ordinary small banquet room.  I’d be pissed to have separate food for attendees. Those 400 people will not be part of your life 10 years down the line.

No, cash bar is basically what it says... everyone has to pay and there's no free anything.  I'm not sure I've ever seen it where drink were free after a certain amount was spent.  Cause $300 seems like a pretty low bar to set!

Free drinks are great but i'm not opposed to going to someone's event and having to pay for a drink.  I think it's more tacky to allow your guests to get drunk for free.
