    Fat and Back (TLC)

    I have to admit she was not a likable person. Now, I am not sure if it was because she was very British and didn’t sugar coat her feelings towards overweight/obese people or just her general overall attitude. I will tune in to the 2nd half though.
    I’m guessing that she just wants to prove that with determination, you can lose weight through diet and exercise to disprove the one girl she met who said no you can’t. Which really isn’t much of a revelation because doctors have been saying for years you need a healthy balance of both diet and exercise to successfully lose weight and keep it off.  She just wants to do it herself to prove that it can be done. The fact that she is gaining weight I found horrible due to her comments (fat people are making me do this), her body obviously is fighting back by not adding the weight fast enough as she liked it to be packed on and her lack of empathy to obese people overall.   She doesn’t understand that gaining weight so quickly is rare and that people who are obese have more than likely been gaining weight over a long period of time.
    I cannot wait to see her struggle to lose it (because it’s always harder to gain than to lose), her struggle with clothes while she is overweight and general moving around.  It’s different being overweight or obese than being a thin person. Trust me I know. I have been both.
    I am hoping that they have someone else with her losing the weight (i.e. the woman that wanted to lose 4 stones) just to compare Katie’s weight loss to their own.  People who struggle with obesity have other issues such as food addiction.  It can be as bad as being addicted to tobacco or alcohol.  She didn’t touch on that.
    On a shallow note, she looked more like a pregnant belly than actual weight gain overall in her body.  I didn’t find her thin shape any more flattering than her fat shape.

    Finally find out why Lemon's mother left and never bothered to contact her children.  They never fully gave us the answer to that one. I can guess she and Brick would have had marital issues, but I can't see the reason why she just took off and didn't bother to contact her children.  Other than that, hoping for Zoe to end up with Wade, Lavon and Lemon and as poster above mentioned George and AB is a pairing i wouldn't mind either.

    With that many people at her disposal, kitchens and the wet bar, Meri should go back to school for cooking/baking and have a catering business instead of MSWC for extra family income. But that requires logic.. and work.  Oh horror... the WORK!

    Season 2 Discussion

    I already can't wait for the next season!  I want to see what happens when a couple decides not to get married (you know, like Danielle should have done).

     

    There was one couple first season that didn't marry. TLC decided not to air their segment but to show them on their TLC website.  Again, it was a big age gap with the American (male) being older and the Russian female (i think she was Russian) being way younger. But from what i remember he was way better off financially as he had some sort of fitness business.

     

    Yes, they do. Loveless marriages are acceptable, but if the migrant is here for the green card and not the spouse, that's a sham marriage. I'm not saying that Mo is necessarily going to be caught and deported, just that if the government makes the effort to investigate in this case, they have more than enough data to send him packing. The officers use their judgment in evaluating the validity of the marriage, and I don't think this is a close call.

    Only problem is, it was all aired on TLC, and they can use the fact that TLC is not a documentary, they are "scripted" and they were lying for the cameras to add drama to the show for ratings. It sucks, but besides the wait game, I hate to say it, Mo is in the clear. Man I really wish they would ship him back.

    Well, Mohamed's family was against him coming to the US to be with Danielle.  It was his idea.  Another blow against the notion that they paid her to take him . . .

    Mo can tell us all he wants about what his family thinks. Unfortunately, they can't confirm or deny what he claims.

    I have to say that ladies looked lovely (sigh – even Danielle looked much better).  Cassia has gotten rid of the cheap ombre look and cat eyes. She does look nice.
    At this point not only is Dani and Mo fooling each other but fooling themselves and trying to sell the kool aid to us. I’m not buying it.  This is a business deal between them that Dani is now intending on backing out by wanting a real marriage instead of the fake one.  I don’t understand on how they sold their “true love” to immigration. That's the puzzle piece that boggles my mind. And Angie (her former friend) wanting Mo?! Ahhh it's those sexy man boobs. 
    I love the hard hitting questions. Are you all in it for the green card? Are you and Danielle truthful about your relationship?  Bah. Who is going to admit that behind closed doors to others, let alone in front of a camera?
    Good luck at the meat packing place Yamir. He can reminisce to the Americans on how he once was a pop star but gave it all up for his beautiful sunflower.   Ahhh young love.

    What a waste of an hour. Too many clips. Not enough. I'm hoping they revisit these people next season.

    Random episode thoughts.
    Chelsea and Yamir’s wedding. Snore. But they remind me of two teenagers in the abc afterschool special that really want to marry and live off love so parents have to take care of the financial aspects.
    Cassia/Jason. Oh geez Louise – Cassia’s dress!! Can you say hooker special? At least her eyeliner looked better when the makeup artist did it.  The drama!  And Jason’s dad’s comments. I think he would have pinched her on the ass if the cameras were not there.
    I don’t understand Justin’s family. The whole drama had to be TLC produced because no one does that much of a 360. The wedding was lovely. I think they are the most stable couple.
    Hands down best wedding dresses had to be Evelin’s and Amy’s.
    20 seconds of Mo. I didn’t even understand what the heck went on. He was out? Late? Didn’t call home? Whooo. Dani needs to call the police. (sarcasm).

    To be honest Mo and Danielle should both be kick out of the country maybe he can go to canada instead and maybe take that bieber girl with him 

    Nope you can keep all of them. I'm so ashamed of those Canadian heifers. *facepalm*.

     

    BTW - I just saw the photos. OMG. She does look like his grandmother standing right beside him. The dress is so gawd awful.

    I don't think being overweight is the biggest thing about her unattractiveness. To me, it starts way before we get to that point. Basically she has no dynamics. None. So it seems she is also a victim of the camera. Whatever. Probably the show pays more than she's ever made.

    You are right. It isn't her being overweight. There are a lot of overweight women that are BBW.  It's her attitude, her sloppy ways (as close to Mama June as you can get) and her overall disrespect for herself and her children.

    The whole Danielle/Mo storyline was a train wreck to begin with but seeing Red Flags and that mockery of the wedding really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  I don’t understand why everyone is pandering to this woman’s fantasy (meaning her kids, her family and friends).  When they know that both Mo and Dani are just in this sham marriage for their own personal reasons (him green card, her fantasy wedding and boy toy arm candy with man boobs).  The only one that really stood up to tell her what is what was her friend Angie which of course Dani dismissed immediately.  I just hope that someone in immigrations finally does something and deports Mo and whatever charges are put forth towards Dani for trying to play the system.  I honestly do not understand how they got past the initial interviews for the K1 visa. Could TLC have assisted? What is the extent of TLC’s influence ?  I’m also surprised at their stupidity in doing the show (but again, probably added fuel to Dani’s fantasy romance).  If they were super quiet about the whole thing by not doing the show, they might have flew under the radar.

    Can we stop talking about Amy’s virginity, de-virginizing and the wedding night?
    Amy you are way too good for Danny. Wow racist dad actually hugged Amy. Wow. Shocked.
    Best comment: “when I saw Danielle in her wedding dress, I got a strange feeling.” Rofl.  Sorry, couldn’t help it. He couldn’t even look at her at all during the ceremony. OMG, Ramadan sure saved him. But you can see the HUGE disappointment in Danielle.  I’m wondering if her family are already having a pool as to when Mohamed will leave. I’m thinking the day after his green card finally comes through. Finally learned purple hair girl’s name. Faith. Lol. I think she is the only one comfortable on camera.
    Jason’s brother is even a bigger prick than Jason.  Ok, I didn’t get the t-shirts. Jason drunk is fun Jason.

    Remember Amy and Danny met at a Bible college. Its program has some simliarites to the Duggar's ATI. For Amy's family to be able be able to send her to an expensive program abroad they must be from the upper level of their church community. It makes me upset that they met at a Bible college and share the same faith and belief system yet Danny's dad disapproves? Would he rather have a white finace that has had a kid out of welock, purple hair and is atheist? I see Danny's family like the Dugars in another way. It is fine for Danny to go to bible college abroad, do missionary work, convert anyone to Christianity but don't marry them. There is a very sick wrong movement amoung some of these "Christian" groups to be having large family to be God's white army.

    Almost wish that Danny was smart enough to bring home some white tattooed with purple hair, upside down hanging crosses and major piercings just to punk him and then say.. oh yeah.. no THIS is my real financee, and then introduce sweet Amy. Not that there is anything wrong with tattoos, purple hair, etc.. but it would have been hilarious to give racist dad a heart  attack.  (I'm a mean person.)

    My thoughts on the show. Posted late but still:

    You think that Mo would have gone to a lawyer when he arrived to the States and not the day of the wedding.  I loved the lawyer’s response “there’s a lot of fraud”. I lmao

    The girls Dani, don’t give a flying rat’s ass if he leaves. Actually they may help him pack. The only thing they care is that you stop blubbering like an idiot.  The one daughter saying she wasn’t going to come home if Mo wasn’t going to marry Dani. Of course not, cause then she would have to take care of mom. The one with the purple hair is the only one that wants to be on camera in my opinion. The rest look very uncomfortable with the camera crew.  I agree with posters that Dani is playing Mo and Mo is playing Dani. Both want something – she a fairy-tale and arm candy. Him – a green card. Everything else (i.e. Dani’s debts) is getting in the way of their goals. But I look at the house and I don’t see much there. Where the heck is she spending cash? Collections? Well only a few stuff here and there, nothing excessive. Gambling? Shopping channel? TLC would have smoked it out for storyline.

    Jason/Cassia. The photo of all three in the front with Cassia in the middle in the el Camio was priceless.  Cassia’s pout was awesome. Why did she even come to the estate sale in the first place and not stayed back home?  She intruded on Jason’s time with the wife.. ummm I meant dad. I think Cassia likes the fact that Jason doesn’t have a 9-5 job. She wants someone to be there for her 24/7. What she really need was more of a sugar daddy who has some serious cash than someone like Jason. 

    Fry voice/Yamir. Meh. Really get a life and move out of mom and dads. Get a job.

    Like the fact that Daya had fish lips to man up and get a place of their own. Good girl. Hopefully they find friends under 50.

    God I love Amy’s mom. Mom, just take your daughter away from those rednecks!  I’m hearting Danny’s mom.  “She will be our… my daughter in law.”  

    Evelin and Justin. Meh. Who cares.

    What are they drinking at Amy’s and Danny’s rehearsal dinner?  Looked like mojitos? 

    This season was better than last. I hope they have #3 in the works with even more train wrecks.

    Best quote of the night: "Mohamed sacrificed a lot to come here?" – Seriously?!?! If Mo had a decent job where he was previously living and gold is cheaper there. If it wasn’t beezness - he would bring a ring over. Love the empty threats about if they are going to marry. Of course they are. Man needs a green card. Dani’s son saying how Mo doesn’t really love his mom. Yup kid... you got that right.
    Did anyone else wish Cassidy would jump a bit harder on fishlips?  So golden girl bestie is back from episode one.  She is concerned for fishlips?  For fishlips? Ummmm Sue darling, Brett just got freebie at home care for his daughter and a gal to warm his bed. Girlfriend, you should be thanking Daya.
    Jason and Cassia. Dad’s ex-wife? So how many ex’s does dad have?  Cassia. Really what is Jason going to do in Vegas? Early bird buffet special. Dad and him off to a nudity movie. Home before 8 pm. The beach scene. I need bleach.
    I really do not understand Danny’s dad in saying about the attitude of interracial relationships.  Is it because he is from Texas? I am not being funny now. I really want to know.  I would think a gay couple would be more offensive to him in this day of age than an interracial couple. Run Amy. Girl just run.  At least his mom was a decent human being.  Half expected dad with his attitude, to be in overalls, with a straw in his mouth and a straw hat. 
    Evelin and Justin. I am wondering if the storyline is contrived by TLC powers that be. Mom's flip flopping doesn't make sense.
    No Yamir and Vocal Fry! Yeah!!

    I'd hate to think the gigglylicious Brett went and got himself a Filipino bride expressly because he needed a nanny? Gave her a industrial-grade diamond with a nice black polka-dotted inclusion, a bed for three and access to her own washer/dryer as payment in full? Yikes.

     

    He purchased her, lock, stock and crappy ring.  My question is whatever happened to the other golden girl that he was having some heart to heart with in episode 1 or 2 before Daya came over? She was all gung ho about how she hoped that Daya wasn't using liverlips for the green card. How about liverlips not using Daya as a built in babysitter and bedwarmer!?

    Not really related to this episode, but my brothers and I were talking about the lack of Dani and Mo on this episode and I was filling them in on her money woes, my youngest brother wants to start a Kickstarter or a GoFundMe for DaniMo.   I'd be onboard for that.  If we get to watch their married life, I would.    We are mean people.  

    That's what the TLC money gods are for. But like i said before, a good replacement for Honey Boo Boo.  I can watch an hour of Dani trying to dry hump Mo's arm and him making excuses as to why he cannot have marital relations.

    Initial Thoughts:
    Jason actually cleaned the pool. That was the only thing I cared about in his whole segment.  Wonder which estate sale did Jason get that ring and how much ebay crap did he have to sell on to get it?  
    Amy’s gorgeous. Loved all the wedding dresses that she tried on. What a waste on Danny. Run away Amy. The sisters in law were super nice and loved how they all just are including her which is a complete flip to Evelyn's situation.....
    Poor Evelyn. If she is that crazy about Justin, they should just elope. That man comes from a cray cray family.  Unless it is a TLC cooked up storyline? I wouldn't put it past them.
    Brett seems like a poor dad with his attitude towards Cassidy.  Daya, for all her faults and attitude can do better.  Please do not say instan-mom again.
    Yamir. Just go back home.
    No Dani or Mo till next week. Miss that hot mess.

    I wonder how much of this stuff he actually sells.  Is there really a market out there for a Newsweek from 1985?  Do people want a Sports Illustrated Issue from 1997?  Or a gold tone airplane pin for $15?  Or better yet, are people really going to pay for BMW brochures?  Can't you get those for free if you email the company?  They always give them away at auto shows, so I never knew anyone actually paid for them, and especially not $20.  Who loves Neve Campbell enough to pay $60 for an autographed photo of her?  

    Autographs are big bucks.  I paid 80$ back in August for Sir Patrick Stewart's autograph and people were getting Matt Smith's at 125$ a pop.  There has to be someone out there who may pay for Neve's - you never know as long as it is authentic.

    Getting back to Jason's ebay - I agree with the other posters, it's pretty much junk. Unsure how he is making this in a full time job but then he lives rent free, eats for free, and drives a crappy car. So his expenses are really low. Selling bras on ebay. Ummmm ew.
