Hmmmm, I wonder, just wonder, if it was intended for Rob to leave at this point (no spoilers, and he may yet make the finale, but if he is eliminated...).

I really think that Rob thought it was okay after a player left their station because it is so obvious to move over there that the producers would so see it. But, it's his fault he wasn't paying attention.
This is not a spoiler as I didn't even watch the previews but in my opinion only I think Rob is out and that they didn't show it as some of us might not watch the finale if it's down to 'Night Owls' only. But, I hope it's Amy who is out as I have been over her for pretty much the whole season when her mean girl self first emerged. Oh, and Rob's line about 'kids, your mother doesn't care about you'-priceless! If Rob is out, I hope that he did receive some kind of appearance fee as he deserves it (even for just luring some viewers, such as myself, to the show).
And, really, how much worse was looking at Amy's answer after she left than Stephanie blatantly following Jordan instead of figuring out the route herself? I know, I know, one was against the given rules and the other wasn't, but still. For all of the moral superiority that Stephanie publicly gives herself (and then in the confessionals takes delight at how she's lying) it's quite telling how dependant on others she is.

I really didn't like the Patrick and Maria segment. Talk about entitlement-if it's such a great product self-fund it, but they don't want to lose all of their own money, let's lose money from other people too! She over-talked a couple of the Sharks and we heard her backstory twice (I thought Lori wasn't listening the first time Maria explained why she started this business, but the producers probably just wanted it told again). So, Mark only 'attacks' snake oil presenters when they don't have money, influence, or a connection to both the Kennedys and Hollywood? Alrighty then.
Oh, and there was a Shark Tank self-promotion segment (UN) and other products, none of which interested me. Where are the presenters that have a realistic valuation? Why is every product worth millions of dollars? Make it all make sense.

So, I laughed out loud when the wife in Spain proclaimed when visiting the first home that it didn't have any 'Spanish traditional charm' when they were standing right in front of a stone wall. At least make the criticisms match what we're seeing.

I'm rooting for Brandon and whomever he chooses. He seems really sincere, hard-working, and nice. And, I do believe it's difficult for him to meet people in his small community.
I think Ty has plenty of opportunities to 'hook up' while on the roping circuit.
Mitchell is actually pretty close to Nashville and still very new to 'farming.' It would be interesting to even see if he sticks with farming long-term. But, Nashville is not that far from him so, again, opportunities to meet people.
Nathan seems sincere but is still fairly young. But, I think he really does want to get married and he seemed to have a good connection with the young woman in this episode. But, all of the 'concern' about her career seems misplaced as he is in Florida and they may not be that far from a city where she could work at a salon. I did laugh though when they showed her salon and all of the women had the exact same hair style and color.

Although not an experience that represents most of the comments on this thread, I have enjoyed many meals at Applebee's. Is it the best restaurant to which I've been? No, but it serves a purpose and has some variety on the menu. But, I will say that their Mudslide (alcoholic drink) is one of the best I have had.
However, I did notice that when pressed, Liz said she had a burger there and it wasn't until after Jeff said Bourbon Burger that she was suddenly all about that specific burger. I think she lied about the whole thing (although there was a photo of her and her daughter [?] at a restaurant [although it may not have been an Applebee's]). I think that she thinks she's smarter than everyone else there (including Jeff) that she is not above lieing/faking the Applebee's connection thinking that she would convince someone/anyone to let her go on the reward. If she hadn't eaten for 3 or 4 days, why wasn't she feeling dizzy like Charlie? Why didn't she immediately step out for the rice like Kenzie did? Why didn't she bother learning how to make a fire so that she could cook any food she could have? None of it adds up IMO.

Until this episode I was fairly neutral on Liz. Sure, I was tired of her 'countdown' clock of how long it had been since she had eaten (it's been 72 hours...) and I laughed at her wanting to take credit for everything that happened in the game (2 weeks ago I thought Soda should go), but this episode led me to really, really, really dislike her. Her sense of entitlement is off the charts. Along with her expectation that everyone should help her at every turn of the game. So what that you and your daughter go to Applebee's? Oh, and thinking people owed you a 'piece of home'? So what? But, what really displayed her sense of entitlement was when after getting her personal rice she stated that someone would have to start a fire for her so she could cook her rice. You want to eat? Start your own fire!
But then, out of nowhere, Ben (who I previously had liked) ripped Q apart during a confessional because Q dared to not take Liz on the reward. What? Just because someone cries and has a hissy fit, someone should feel bad for them and take them on a reward? I don't get it. I guess it's like some parents who give in everytime their children have tantrums. No, don't give in to tantrums as that only teaches people to continue having tantrums in order to get what one wants. Oh, and Jeff wasn't any better as he continued to point out to ! that Liz wasn't eating and was begging to go on the reward. For once during this season, I will say good for Q for not choosing Liz. Oh, and for all of the multi-millions that she told us she has, go buy an Applebee's franchise after the show if it means so much to you!
And we saw the curse of 'if I can go one more week without using my idol' play out yet again.

I think that Amy and Stephanie are also trying to start up careers in reality t.v. Maybe they think by totally focusing on Boston Rob (which they then deny that they are focusing on him) that they, too, can have reality careers. However, I don't think reality show are quite the launching pad for careers that they were in the early days. When Survivor first began, the contestants became almost household names. But, if Boston Rob were to be on Survivor for the first time now, he wouldn't even make much of a blip on the radar.
So, Amy got $75,000 and was able to choose who went against the banker? So much for Joe telling us the higher value of the case the less power that person would have. There are so many times this show just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm really only 'in' for Rob, but it does sadden me a bit that his hat is just a navy blue hat and not a Boston Red Socks hat.

What an episode-very intense. Well, at least very intense when focused on the main story, less so when focused on the "B" story. Don't care. Oh, and I really, really, really don't want Will back with Angie-that will only throw him further into his bad memories and reactions.
And, speaking of Will, he indeed gave off James Bond vibes! I wish more men would emulate his mode of dressing while more women followed Faith and Amanda's fashion sense (and this very clearly includes me! [not that I could ever look as good as they do]).

I don't think Aron was a good fit for this show. He was ready to turn on the only person who really befriended him because a known liar told him that Rob was ready to turn on him. Why in the world would he have even listened to Stephanie let alone believe her? Aron seems to want female acknowledgement and attention, hence his devastation when Alyssa left and his believing what Stephanie said.
It will be interesting to see how the final four plays out. Jordan is still a wild card, so a lot could hinge on how she plays it out.
Oh, and the preview trying to create suspense and drama about who the banker may be? I don't care at all. Well, I take that back, I would be interested if they got a really well known miser such as Scrooge McDuck, but other than that? Don't care.

This was a very weak episode IMO. First of all, I don't like having to watch 'other' shows in order to understand the show I am actually watching, so having Soo come in from LCK is meaningless to me. I have watched other participating chefs throughout the season thus far so am more supportive of/interested in them than I am a new entrant into the competition (similar to my resentment of having to watch 'The Talking Dead' in order to understand missing plot points from 'The Walking Dead').
Then, we get a 'chaos' challenge which is actually meaningless. This was demonstrated when Tom and guest judge were walking through the kitchen and Savannah explained her mustard greens dessert to which the guest judge said "that doesn't make sense" which, what?, that's what chaos is-doesn't make sense. So after excitedly giving a confusing, chaotic description of the challenge, he then proclaims that a dish didn't make sense? His descriptor didn't make sense yet the contestants did their best to try to represent it in their dishes.
I agree with some others that Dan's dish looked chaotic and was delicious (according to the judges), so why didn't that win? Soo's dish was very traditional. Danny's dish looked interesting (oh, and I thought he was going to win as soon as they gave him a long Montague in the middle of the episode). And, Savannah's dish (which didn't make sense per both Tom and the chaotic guest judge) was apparently delicious.
Throughout the elimination challenge I kept remembering that Kristen reminded the contestants in an earlier episode to just make good food. I'm surprised they didn't just make what they wanted and justified it by stating that not following the challenge was their interpretation of 'chaos.'
I was just really happy that Michelle stayed.

Thank you for posting the article about the deaths of Survivor contestants. I didn't realize some of those contestants had died and it was a sombering and sad read. I remembered most of them and felt genuine sadness.

Unfortunately, the returning players I would most want to see have either aged out or are considered 'less than' as they may be from real/original Survivor, and we know that according to Jeff (earlier this season), they would not have helped Ben with his anxiety attack and therefore do not meet the requirements to be in the 'new era' of
over dramatic, attention seeking, er, kinder and gentler players (insert eye roll). Sigh. Maybe they would consider going back to 39 days for the returnees...-

Bavaria is one of my favorite regions and I really enjoyed this episode. I liked the couple-no fake fights, put-downs, etc., but, her continual up speak at the end of every single sentence was too much. Even in a half-hour (20 minute) show it was just too much which was a shame as they were a really nice, positive couple.

There were several times when I laughed out loud and just had a happy smile on my face, until...I remembered that this show was cancelled. What a shame-lots of talent, clever and funny writing, and enjoyable interactions. As for this episode, I kind of thought that a twist was going to be that the guy who died but wasn't dead was the president/CEO of a car parts manufacturing company and was going to sign with them and financially ease their problems. Nope.
Loved Todd and his Scottish accent-just silly fun which is hard to find.

I just felt kind of sad after watching this episode. I think Brandon and Nathan really do want to find a partner, but I don't get the sense that this will end positively for them. Quite frankly, if someone truly wanted to find love (and in fact did so), raise a family, and enjoy life on a farm-there could be a happy ending. But, I don't know if any of these women truly want that.
Next week will just be more of the same and I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I still don't know everyone's names.

It makes me really anxious or stressed to watch interpersonal dynamics such as we watched with Amber and Vinnie. To me, it doesn't matter how insecure Amber is or how she doesn't acknowledge her limitations, what does matter is how Vinnie berates her by pointing out her weaknesses, etc. He is quick to tell her how she is negatively impacting the team while his demeaning her is what truly hurts the team and actually impacts me as a viewer. I never enjoy toxic/demeaning relationships and it lessens my overall enjoyment of this show.
While I criticize other decisions/interactions on this show (I.e. not being able to drive stick shift, read maps, etc.), I still enjoy the show. But, when I feel interpersonal stress/anxiety, it does impact how much I enjoy the show.
So, in other words, please producers and casting agents, lets get rid of teams who are trying to figure out/save a relationship and give us teams that just want to, you know, race...

This reminded me-Liz stated twice that she hadn't eaten for 72 hours. Like we're supposed to feel sorry for her. I don't-she knew what she signed up for.

I thought the animal sanctuary looked over-crowded without much room for the animals to graze, run, etc. I'm glad people want to help discarded/old animals, but they need to work on increasing the facilities/land area IMO.
I am on Chloe's 'side' in the Chloe/Lauren issue. I think that Lauren all season has seen herself as a wise oracle for the others due to her unending platitudes and insertion of self into the marriages of others. She was done after two days and yet has prolonger her hurt and anger as long as the other women have. I agree with an above poster that Chloe blocked them all and Lauren took it personally so that, once again, she could be the wise oracle. I know Lauren is really liked on this forum and that I have an unpopular opinion. But that's what so great about the forum-we don't all have to share the same opinions.
I am still bemused by the fact that so many of these participants so up to almost all of these events. Must be the lure of being on t.v. (and, in fact, I think the reason the women are so angry is that they were 'rejected' on t.v. [one of them even mentioned that in one of their meetings]), or the ongoing paycheck.

I think that in 'new era' Survivor, it's easier for people to keep annoying players around because they are there far fewer days. In 'real' Survivor, keeping an annoyance for 39 days (or 42 days in Survivor: Australia season 2), is far more taxing and bothersome than in a game that's 26 days. This episode was day 17, so there are only 9 more days to go. Therefore people can still tolerate being around Q, Venus, Liz, etc., because it's really not that much longer. I think that's why so many 'wild cards' are making it further in the seasons and why they are casting so many 'big' personalities.
I really want 'real/old school' Survivor back...

In keeping with her character her calling it that sounds a little uninformed but she certainly knows how to use it!
This, too, is similar to Columbo. They incorporated new technology (for the times) into episodes and Columbo always learned about them and used the technology, along with his observational skills, etc., to solve the murders.
I like the lightness and fun of the show-similar vein to Columbo, Psych, and the recently cancelled So Help Me Todd. Murder, mayhem, and humor? I'm in.

I actually think logistics could be part of the reason that there will only be one TAR next year. There are a lot more 'moving parts' to this show whereas once Survivor settled permanently in Fiji, there are far fewer logistical considerations-at least in terms of location, crews, transportation, etc. (and probably visas, etc.). It might just take more time in general for a season of TAR. IMO.
