I loved that, because I've always thought it was a little forced that they have people ask him, "Doctor who?" just to get the show title in there. Don't most people say, "Doctor/Mr./whatever what" instead of who in that situation? As in 'what is your name' instead of 'who are you'? Exactly.

You might want to edit (all these years later) if possible to separate your comment from the person you’re quoting so it doesn’t look like they said your part. I also think this is a nasty thing to suggest about an actress, whether you like her character or not.

I watched Rose first (with Nine) but Martha was my Martha immediately. She is the best and can come back anytime. She’s still owed a Christmas episode too.

That’s the thing too, isn’t it? The Doctor didn’t tell Donna she had to do it and leave. I gather the writer of this episode also didn’t realize this could be looked on as an abortion metaphor.

Not sure whether the writer didn’t know or that’s part of the joke. Maybe Courtney was born in the U.S. when her parents were there for some reason. Maybe she will move there someday. Did he specify it was U.S. President? I forget. Maybe she somehow gets moved to Pete’s World where the UK has a president.

I’m not sure I’d say Rose had a tragic end. Even Amy and Rory just lived somewhen else and grew old together. I would like to see companions deciding it’s just time to move on more often, though.

I’m not sure she remembers any of that, though I would like her to.

Yes, she says to die with one of the companions who come after her, which at this point might as well be her asking to go first (because she’s yet another who thinks she will be with him till she dies, even if of old age).

I don’t think typing is better than signing. I think it would be good if the future had everyone knowing how to sign—a future we could achieve by teaching it in schools now.

Clara said four when she was pretending to be the Doctor in Series 8. (She and the Doctor have apparently spent some offscreen time discussing things.) “All deceased.” I hate the Elizabeth I and Marilyn Monroe ones. I’m not sure I think River was an actual marriage, for that matter. Wife on Gallifrey must be the first one.

I hope the sonic returns too but have no problem with him in sunglasses. Grandpa's do wear shades and many grandpa's are certainly "hip". I think he looks hot in the sunglasses, and the guitar doesn’t hurt either. Clara also looks great and is dressing just fine.

I just thought the TARDIS had some great wigs in its capacious wardrobe.

I did. It’s one of the ways I can tell/be satisfied it’s the same person.

I’ve been waiting for Freema Agyeman for quite some time. I think Jenna Coleman could do a good job, though.

This is why Jackie thought someday a woman would be walking on an alien planet but she wouldn’t be Rose Tyler anymore (an argument for combining or alternating a companion’s traveling life with the Earth life, perhaps. Especially if now the Doctor is able to pinpoint the destination time on Earth.
