  1. But Ruby still hasn't lost all of the weight.  I don't even think she is close.  I follow her on Facebook and she never shows pictures of herself.

I think she regained but later lost weight again on another diet and exercise program.

  2. I can't believe Susan's mother.  The grocery shopping trip at the first was painful.  There was no need to buy all of that high fat junk food, it was so excessive.  This is a clear case of someone needing to be in a different environment.

I hope she continues to do well, she already seems so much happier.

  3. And yet, here's Whitney talking about Buddy on a TV show (which he can watch), saying things like "if we're meant to be, then moving in together blah blah blah ..." or "things will happen when they're supposed to happen". Does she know something we don't know? I mean, if a guy I liked showed no interest in me for years, I sure as hell wouldn't be speculating about our potential romantic future so openly! How humiliating! Unless ... they're already together, and just manipulating the storyline for the sake of the show.

I think you are right and they are together, but it wasn't interesting or whimsical enough to reveal that.  Many of the plots have been Whitney going on a date with someone.

The porch swing was such a setup, I really hope they weren't planning for it to collapse.

I like Whitney and this show, but so much of it is staged or totally fake.

  4. You know, as much as I enjoy her mother on the show, her descriptions of her childhood and conversations about food and weight - well, I don't have any respect for them. He told her his two regrets as he sent her off to college were not exposing her to more religion and that she hadn't lost more weight. Honestly, that's terrible.

Yes that kind of comment stays with you forever and probably contributed to her depression and drinking behavior.  However, reading on in the blog he seems much more supportive and understanding.

  5. Is it more heartbreaking if a person is better looking? Because that's how I'm reading it. I don't mean this to sound snarky but I am very curious about this sentiment.

No it was just two separate thoughts, but it does read that way.

This episode seemed more sad compared to others. It was tough to see how Amber thought of herself as a failure and burden. She is so young to have that much self hate.  I hope she can find happiness.

  6. This one was really heart-breaking.  Amber is beautiful, like model beautiful.  Someone should have stepped in when she was younger, or just cut off the food supply.

The airport was horrible, they should have piled up luggage on the other side of it or something.

I don't know how safe it was for her on the plane and she probably wasn't able to go to the bathroom?

  7. * The bar scene with the two men was so incredibly scripted.  I wouldn't be surprised if the producers didn't ask Gramps to suggest something weird.  (By the way, TLC, thanks for making my dumb ass Google "squashing."  Dear God, friends, don't click on images.)

    Yes and Thank you!

I laughed at the first half, it was cute.  The second half was so ridiculous/boring and I couldn't watch the end.  The younger guy probably auditioned for that scene.

Kind of sad it's over next week.

  8. I wonder what caloric intake in 24 hours would be necessary to just sustain her? Doesn't seem like it would be much since she doesn't move. I don't think a body uses a lot of calories to roll over and have someone wipe it's butt or  type on a laptop or yell.

It doesn't seem like she would need many but I think she needs a lot more, like over 2500 a day just for her body to function.

I had in-laws who were in a similar but less extreme situation than Penny and Edgar, and it didn't end well.

  9. This woman's attitude is vile and I feel sorry for her kids.  They will almost definitely have issues with food being raised by her.

The meeting with the overweight people seemed exaggerated, I don't think that woman truly called the police.  I do believe she goes to the gym though.  I wouldn't even be speaking to Katie if she came in and immediately started insulting me.

  10. I would think the tight spandex wouldn't be helping her rash from earlier.

Everything with her mother seems rehearsed and fake now.  Also the butt massage scene was really fake.  Maybe the woman on the beach was taking a picture because of the camera crew/ celebrity aspect.  If it wasn't also staged.

Whitney's friend Ashley seems kind of depressed, especially during the swimsuit shopping.  I thought all of the suits looked fine, the second halter top one with the design was pretty.
