  1. The protest in pink clothes - What was that all about? It made no sense at all. One of the Representatives stated: “Women are claiming pink as a color of protest, as a color of power, and we are protesting what is happening right now." Pink is not a power color. Seriously? Now Blood Red is a power color that would have reflected that many people are about to die due to this Cretin. I am pretty sure that it was offered up as a choice but was probably seen as too radical. Heaven forfend.
  2. It wasn't the smartest move to drive a Tesla Tank during a Mardi Gras parade. Click on the link: https://bsky.app/profile/andreasor.bsky.social/post/3ljmbaj3czk2k
  3. That's what I was saying to myself as I was driving. I would go from station to station and every time I hit the NPR station - he was still speaking.
  4. I am on my second rewatch, this year, of West Wing. It is somewhat masochistic but not on the scale if I actually watched Dump speak.
  5. The first campaign stop Reagan made after the RNC nominated him as their Presidential candidate was Neshoba Mississippi. Neshoba Mississippi is close to the area where 3 Civil Rights activists, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner, were murdered in 1964. The speech was about State's Rights. Reagan knew exactly what he was doing.
  6. Once Trump was elected the 1st time - it became really clear he was really Putin's Puppet. Hillary was right. And here's a link to an article from The Guardian on how Russia cultivated Trump as an asset 40 years ago. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/29/trump-russia-asset-claims-former-kgb-spy-new-book
  7. As soon as DOGE fired the people who were overseeing the safety of our nuclear weapons -Congress should have fired everyone involved - starting with Musk.
  8. Wow. So the Trump administration is not even giving a reason as to why they are firing top Military Leaders. Who have spent their lives defending the USA and earned their ranks. Even Hitler had to come up with reasons, bs reasons to be sure, to fire his Generals. This coup d'état will be successful unlike the last. They are going get rid of all of the top military brass that are not on Team Trump.
  9. It was so nice that Scott was willing to take one for the team. 😉
  10. You know the US Postal Service. until DeJoy took over, was probably one of the best run government institutions. It was rare that there were serious mail problems. Now Trump is taking over??? We will wish we were back with Dejoy. And I am sure under his control- mail in voting will end.
  11. They are well on their way to dismantling the Federal Government. This is a tweet from someone who works at OPM - https://twitter.com/RachelBitecofer/status/1884061500882706884 “OPM employee here, we are not the bad guys. I'm a current employee at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). This is a throwaway account for obvious reasons. I'm posting this because people need to know what's going on at OPM. I've been an OPM employee for nearly a decade and a Federal Employee for almost 20 years. I've never witnessed anything even remotely close to what's happening right now. In short, there's a hostile takeover of the federal civil service. Let me say this in no uncertain terms - OPM has been compromised and taken over. The very backbone of American Government, the HR of all HR in the U.S. Government has been taken over by outside politicals. In just five days, they managed to push aside dozens of non-political, career civil servants who were there specifically to prevent the civil service from becoming the President's henchmen. The current Acting Director, Charles (Chuck) Ezell is a low-level branch chief. He's the friendliest "yes man" you'll ever meet. He never says no. It's clear they pushed aside all the high-level non political civil servants who refused to do Donald Trump's bidding, until they found Chuck. Under his name, they've sent numerous request-all the agencies to collect information on gov't employees that they see as a threat to their agenud. Instructions say to send these lists to Amanda Scales Rut Amanda is not actually an OPM employee. Under his name, they've sent numerous requests to all the agencies to collect information on gov't employees that they see as a threat to their agenda. Instructions say to send these lists to Amanda Scales. But Amanda is not actually an OPM employee, she works for Elon Musk. She wasn't even properly cleared by OPM Personnel Security. Our CIO, Melvin Brown, (also a non political career public servant) was pushed aside just one week into his tenure because he refused to setup email lists to send out direct communications to all career civil servants. Such communications are normally left up to each agency. Instead, an on-prem (on-site) email server was setup. Someone literally walked into our building and plugged in an email server to our network to make it appear that emails were coming from OPM. It's been the one sending those various "test" message you've all seen. We think they're building a massive email list of all federal employees to generate mass RIF notices down the road. The non-political civil servants here at OPM are watching helplessly as our government is being systematically dismantled bit by bit. Even the IGs are being fired to prevent them from investigating the numerous whistleblower complaints we've filed. Please share this and tell the world that OPM is not the bad guy. We're just as helpless to stop this as the rest of our fellow public servants. Hopefully someone out there can help us, but it's looking pretty grim.”
  12. I have a friend who's partner works for the National Institute of Health and she says it is absolute chaos right now for that government entity. When I look to see what is going on at the NIH I see articles stating - they are canceling scientific meetings, pausing research grants, and they are prohibited from purchasing supplies for their studies.
  13. When Trump said he wants America to acquire Canada, the Panama Canal and Greenland this was CNN's response when the news 1st broke: CNN — "President-elect Donald Trump appears to be entertaining an American territorial expansion that, if he’s serious, would rival the Louisiana Purchase or the deal that netted Alaska from Russia."
  14. YMCA was written by Jacques Morali, who died in 1991, and Victor Willis, Founding member and singer of YMCA. Victor Willis is now 73 years old. He did decide to allow Trump to use the song this past October stating it was good for business. I am not buying his explanation. He is a black, gay man - I can only imagine the threats he was getting from Trump's supporters. I believe that given his age he doesn't want to contend with Trump's supporters. So I don't have any problems with what he did.
  15. As today is the 4th anniversary of 1/6, I am sharing a video from the House of Representatives January 6th Committee. May we never forget what Trump tried to do. I am very happy that this site allows a space so we can discuss politics.
