  1. Bringing over the conversation from TWOP - that article mentions Maggie Q's upcoming miniseries, where she plays the Chinese pirate Ching Shih. I'm thrilled. Maggie Q as a pirate? I can't sign on fast enough.

Less thrilling is the news that they've cast a white guy to play her nemesis-turned-lover. As far as I know, Ching Shih didn't have any white lovers, or if she did, they weren't all that important or notable compared to her relationships with Zheng Yi and Cheung Po Tsai.

  2. Here, Sherlock once again triumphed over both, but I feel that this mash-up of Adler/Moriarty is more on his level.

I wouldn't say that Sherlock triumphed over Adler/Moriarty (Moriadler!), since it was Watson who managed to figure her out.

Natalie Dormer as Moriarty is one of my favorite characters, but I hope the show doesn't reuse her too often. I'd hate for her to become another Spike.

  3. I've heard people say that they can buy Tatiana Maslany playing all of the clones except for Cosima, and that it's jarring whenever they see her in an interview talking about that character. But for me, Alison is the real disconnect. Tatiana as Sarah? Rachel? Helena? Cosima? Yeah, I can see it. But I swear she must have an identical twin stashed away who plays Alison.

  4. I feel like Jeff Davis had one characterization in mind for Kira, but as soon as Crystal told him that she wanted to leave, he set about trying to mold Kira into a replacement warrior princess. The show has spent more time showcasing her ~badass katana skills than her ability to channel electricity.

I really do like Kira, but IMO Davis has let a lot of her potential go unrealized in his effort to turn her into Allison 2.0.

  5. The expression on Mary's face when Henry made his little suggestion was priceless. I love this show now that it's embraced how fully ridiculous it is.

  6. I think the original plan was for it to be more serialized, but they decided to switch to a case-of-the-week thing.

Ugh. Doesn't sound very promising, especially since the "cases of the week" are so cheesy.

I'm really only in this for Jamie Chung, but she doesn't get to do much other than stand around and express doubts about Tate.
