Heh, I’m pretty sure Rizzo would’ve taken a 1yr deal, based on the fact that he’s still unsigned. Yankees passed on him because he’s cooked. But yeah, I agree that Goldy’s 1yr deal is to keep their Vladdy options open.

I guarantee you that’s what prompted the revamp of the facial hair policy. Look at the top players hitting free agency next year: Kyle Tucker, Vlad Jr. off the top of my head. Both bearded, both can cherry pick wherever they want to go, and the Yankees are trying not to potentially lose players over something so penny-ante.

Ehhh… no. Brandon Marsh looks like Rip Van Winkle. I feel like he’s got lost car keys caught in that beard. Long can look good if it’s well-groomed. Dallas Keuchel comes to mind.

Yeah, it makes no sense. Hire the reigning AL gold glove 3B and keep Devers at 3B. Great idea. Also, I’ve long been a proponent of moving Trout out of center but it really should be left field. He has a noodle arm, you need a strong arm in right field.

I personally don’t care about Stroman one way or the other but it’s not like he waited til the last possible day. He came in two days later. That’s a drop in the bucket.

Stroman wasn’t late. He just wasn’t early. The mandatory report date is the 22nd.

I only have like 20 shows that I follow. Three are active, three have yet to debut and the rest are dead shows that I keep in case someone happens to make a comment. I do have some shows that I watch but I don’t follow or read the forums because the posters don’t seem to actually enjoy the shows and are more interested in chainsawing them apart (Marvel, Star Trek shows).

Given that I saw Wagner doing his interview on the MLB Network wearing an Astros shirt and hat, I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that it’s the team he’ll pick. A blank cap option would make sense for Sabathia but if he wants to wear a Yankees cap, that’ll be what goes.

They do but the player pretty much get their picks. I remember being rather perplexed that Nolan Ryan went in with a Rangers cap. The bulk of his accomplishments were with the Angels and Astros, but that’s what he picked.

The east coast does benefit vis a vis the Latin countries. Players from DR, Cuba, Venezuela, etc, seem to prefer east coast/southern teams.
