Darth Vader saves Luke from Palpatine!!!

When Cyborg!Mr.P asked Alfie to join him, I thought, "They've gone full "Star Wars"".

I loved seeing the Sykes Sisters reunite with Alfie and the gang. I also loved that Bet has had so much going on in her life that she had to reach a bit for Alfred's name while he remembered the unforgettable Bet.

I was actually worried for Bet when she hugged Alfred. It felt like goodbye. And seeing as this show has gotten rid of others in the past, I wouldn't be surprised seeing another regular depart.  Especially seeing as that Paloma was pregnant when they returned to filming after their Covid-19 forced break.

  2. I was hoping the Harrow son arc would mean less Fern, but now I'm stuck watching two obnoxious Harrow children.  I would be happy if we lost Fern and  kept her boyfriend.  But this season has been a joy, nonetheless.

Honestly I think Andre and Norman were the ones who were just completely over her drama.  I liked Heather's attitude also, just let her go and do what she gotta do.  I love that Heather didn't even try to reach out.

That would be me, as well. The house tried to reach out to Becky, she didn't want to hear it. People have to know when to just say, "I'm not going to get through to that person." and keep keeping on. I understand why Kevin wanted that closure, but he could take a page from Julie's playbook and let Becky have her say and then just wash his hands of it.  I loved the face journey Julie was doing when Becky did her "whoa is me" routine and criticized the other guests.   Julie's a better person than I because I would have never returned to the house with Becky's proposal.  They have such a short time in the loft - why keep beating this dead horse called Becky?

Also, Becky is still on the cross over the fight. She made an IG post saying how the others didn't realize they were being used by the producers.

  4. The same reason Woody Allen hasn't gotten film distribution the last few years

His latest film RIFKIN'S FESTIVAL was released in Europe.  It's fair to say he'll likely never work with huge names again, but he will never have problem finding distribution. Even A RAINY DAY IN NEW YORK had a scattered release, including the U.S.

DISNEY has put all of their 20th Century Fox projects on the back burner. I don't know why they don't just release it to Hulu or sell them all. DEATH ON THE NILE, and THE KING'S MAN have been pushed back repeatedly. THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW was finally sold to Netflix after its delay.

DOTN is an ensemble film. It's easy to avoid Hammer in the promotion of the film.  When I AM NUMBER FOUR tanked and Alex Pettyfer's name was poison, when it came time for the DVD release the ads only focused on Number 6 played by Teresa Palmer. If the Four in I AM NUMBER FOUR can be avoided, so can Hammer.

  5. So it landed on Epix? That's great news. I believe I read that initially it would go to HBO Max after Audience Network went bust.  Series two has aired globally, so I can't wait for the U.S to see it. The second series is fantastic.

  6. The best episode of Brett's podcast IMHO is the one with Yvette Nicole Brown. She moderated one of the panel's for the show and it was a love fest that is reflected in that podcast episode.

I love Nick Mohammad in this as Nate that it makes me sad that I don't like the series he stars in and created called INTELLIGENCE.  I have enjoyed the series Brett co-created called SOULMATES.

The Queen is a tad hot to trot, isn’t she? Either that or she’s sure they’re all going to die and would like to go out with a bang.

I think the latter. She was just looking for a connection.  Though, Aziz is quite peng.

Is it the camera angles or is Alfred supposed to be a giant? Aziz & Mrs. P barely come up to his shoulders.

Jack Bannon is a strapping lad of 6'3.

WTF? The dad is alive? What is this, As the World Turns?

Very surprising turn for the series.  While the show has anachronistic elements it doesn't do gimmicks, so this reveal is a weird pivot. But what do I expect from series based on a comic book character.

  9. I loved the series but my only question is whether Paco and Elena had a prior friendship / relationship to the events of the show.  Attraction aside they seemed like they were long-time friends, but when he came to her home and she explained that it was her husband in the photograph, that dispelled my theory that they were friends.  I thought perhaps they had a fling after her husband vanished, but that didn't pan out.

I was shocked at how little parenting these kids had!  Going to clubs as a young teen?  How could the parents NOT KNOW?  She is lucky she made it out.

Her parents seemed pretty free-wheeling so I'm sure they trusted her to make the right decisions. The thing about being a young celebrity is that the celebrity often trumps the age.  Drew Barrymore was clubbing when she was 9 years old. Joaquin Phoenix was going to the Viper Room when he was a teen. It's hard for some parents of celebrity kids to pull rank when that kid has their own money or is contributing to the home.

  11. "Genera+ion is a dark, playful look at a group of Orange County high schoolers as they navigate modern sexuality and identity, testing the deeply entrenched beliefs of their conservative community."

I've watched the first five series before even reading a description of it.  This logline doesn't reflect the series to me. I don't find it dark at all. Maybe it will get there, but I find it more playful and exuberant than other HBO  teen dramas like "We Are Who We Are" and "Euphoria".  "Generation" plays like the UK series "Skins" meets "Degrassi".

  12. - Sorry to see Harwood go. I was really expecting the old trope of a last minute rescue.  But I'm glad we got one last scene between Harwood and the Sykes sisters.

    - Glad that the show is drawing out Martha's pregnancy reveal. I won't be mad if they are able to carry it until the second to last episode of the season.  I hate to see Patricia go because I like her relationship with Martha. I think this shows does better than most with female characters - The Sykes Sisters, Martha, Patricia, Ma Pennyworth, the Queen and Katie are all vibrant characters.
