About the timing of pregnancy above... that’s incorrect. Pregnancy is timed from the day of the last period. For the sake of simplicity let’s assume that is 14 days before conception. So if they had sex and conceived the day she arrived, she would miss her period on day 14 after arrival and already be 28 days pregnant. So actually in order for her to be pregnant and know it now, she had 11 days approx to conceive.
