  1. Amanda is one of the nastiest messiest drama queens in the show's history it is just that most of the time, she is going against people that a lot of fans are either sick of or outright hate so she somehow has fans and people supporting her.

You take her exact words and actions and apply it against someone who is well liked and most of her fans would turn on her in a second.

  2. I always watch on Paramount Plus. Much better with no commercials and uncensored.  I always thought it was dumb for this show to be censored on MTV in the first place yet when they used to post those clips or unseen moments they would be full swearing.  Like you are on cable. but whatever, that is another issue for another time.

I wish they would go back and uncensor the old seasons too.

  3. Well I remember watching it in real time and being hooked from the first episode.  If this was a new show and the original never existed, I doubt I would keep watching.

So the years of character development doesn't really hold water because the characters in the pilot were all better than the ones in this version. If Justified had only been 8 episodes long originally and ended on Blowback, I still would have loved it as each episode was entertaining and riveting. IMO of course.

I just did a rewatch in anticipation of this show and by this point in Season 1, Raylan was firmly established as someone not to fuck with, who was quick witted and quicker to act if needed. This guy is no different than any other generic cop on any cop show.

And this is no shade on TO. He is the only good thing in the show like I said but he is a watered down version who may swear more but it is toothless.

  4. The only good thing about this show is Raylan and unfortunately they have neutered him. He is one of the best badasses in TV history but you would never know it from this show. Plus his screen time seems limited in comparison to the original but that may just because that at least had interesting other characters we cared about and enjoyed watching in Raylan's absence. This just doesn't have it, at least not yet.

I literally could not care less about any other character aside from maybe the 2 cops. The redhead and the overzealous dog detective.  The rest are bleh.

  5. Wasn't the beam different? Like the beams were lazers and the blast was like a shotgun blast. It looked much more powerful impact wise. The beams didnt have much as much force it looked.

Also Superman is way stronger than Jordan overall.

  6. This might be my favorite episode of the season. It was just fun. I don't care much about an overall arc, this show to me is a fun procedural and I like my shows mostly self contained with a few moments or hints at an overall plot arc. I may be in the minority but I am someone who couldn't even finish Andor but I would watch multiple seasons of episodes like this one.

  7. Danny knew that if Jordan got to the final he is the favorite to win especially because he has a good partner. Danny has been saying Tori was telling him this early on. So he wanted Jordan out because he doesnt think he can beat him in a Challenge final. Or that he would be the underdog at the least.

I am a bit confused by the comment regarding the composition of the finals participants and MVP vs Legends. Each team is made of 1 MVP and 1 Legend so there would be an equal number of each no matter who makes it.  Unless I am mistaken?

Also, is Laurel prettier in person?  Her attractiveness does not come through the TV for me. Or maybe I just can't see past how she treated Big Easy all those years ago...

I will forever hate MTV for the way they edited out Easy shitting all over her FIRST and only showing Laurel's response to make her look bad when he was the one who started it and said some terrible things to her. Like making fun of her looks, bacne, that no one would ever want sleep with her, that she couldn't have kids or something relating to fertility and more.  Easy is an AWFUL person who was protected by MTV production on every show he was on.  Like in All-Stars when they made it seem like it was Jemmye who wanted to quit when Easy was asking to quit first and was more vocal about it.

Laurel was the initial victim of bullying who responded in a harsh manner and editing only showed her to shame her. The fact that she had to apologize at the reunion still makes me sick.

  9. Yeah this show requires a heavy dose of suspension of disbelief with regards to police procedures and today's cameras and surveillance technology especially in London. Basically you are on a camera somewhere from the second you leave your residence (even inside in some places) until you return.

I just treat this and all shows like this as an alternate universe where our real world stuff doesn't always apply. Otherwise it would drive me mad. Any fictional show is not in our real world so getting hung up on real world stuff makes viewing harder. IMO of course.

    YMMV.

The only snark I have is even if that was Offerman's real hair and beard, it looked like high school play makeup.

Pretty sure it was make up. Offerman showed up with short hair and clean shaven which you can see in the Inside the Episode feature after.  Maybe because he was a recast?

  11. Social media and cancel culture has also killed most of the drama or "reality" aspect of the show. Everyone is too afraid to be "real" on the show as there are now real world potential career ending consequences for things that previously would may be frowned upon but in a lot of cases, would be able to be discussed and learning and growing could be done. That is literally gone as the vocal minority public expects perfection in all words and deeds and anything even just 1 person has an issue with could steamroll into huge problems for the cast AND production.

There is also the issue that when this show was in its heyday, it was not seen so much as a career but something fun to do and in most cases would not lead anywhere. Now it is a career for a lot of them and even just being on the show without winning can help with influencing and other entertainment jobs but like I said above you need to make sure you do not do anything that might jeopardize this.

Lastly, even if they did cast people who don't care about this or lacked the ability to prevent themselves from providing dramatic moments, CBS/Paramount is not going to show anything that may be viewed negatively or potentially lead to trending in a bad way leading to complaints, talks of boycotts, loss of advertisers, etc. The old adage that any publicity even bad is good publicity is no longer true at all.

If you follow spoilers and the cast doing podcasts or their social media, you will see that there are still a lot of messy dramatic moments happening but they are being edited out. The only time they are not is if Paramount wants to virtue signal like they did something and even that it is unlikely to happen. Better to not even address it unless forced (Camilia for example).

  12. Yeah Wes wanted CT to try and hit him to get him out. He admitted as much.  Unfortunately for him CT was smart enough to keep it verbal.  It was funny the next morning when Wes was trying to act like nothing happened and CT was still pissed.

  13. Gone now.  I downloaded copies of 1A and will do so for the 2nd half wherever it lands. I will not watch it on some free ad riddled service.

And if they have ads, wouldn't that mean the content will be edited? Since it will no longer be a subscription service with those protections?

  14. Fessy might just be the most overconfident in respect to his actual abilities out of any challenger since Danny from Austin. I mean Fessy is clearly better but he is not elite and never will be. He thinks just because he is big and was a collegiate athlete (which many Challengers have also been, some at a higher level than Fessy) he just assumes he is better than everyone. It is so delusional.

When CT said to Wes in their hours long Rivals fight that he couldn't stop him and he was better than him and he would smoke him, it was real and true. Every single person who heard or saw that agreed with CT because he had proven his ability before.

Fessy has never done anything to impress me athletically. Yes he is a good athlete but he hasn't done anything that someone else hasn't done previously and or better.  I mean you have feats by Landon, Alton, CT, Jordan, even Wes back in the day which amazed both the cast and the viewers.

Can anyone name anything Fessy has done besides hurt smaller people than him in strictly size based challenges? Hell Latarian on All Stars hurt people in Pole Wrestle and it was way more impressive to me due to the size of each challenger being closer. Tyler is even bigger than Latarian and he got smoked and hurt.

Even after being proven that he couldn't beat Bananas in a final previously, he still doesn't understand why Bananas does good. Like him or not, he is very good, maybe the best ever in dailies and one of the best in finals.  Same with CT, calls him old and done and CT goes on to win the next 2 back to back. I guarantee he still thinks he could beat him. Even if Kaycee hadn't gotten hurt, no one was beating Amber and CT in that final.

The entitlement without anything to back it up is all time narcissism in my opinion. Which is probably why he keeps getting brought back to be honest. Production loves their braggadocious douches.

  15. According to the most recent official podcast, when Veronica came in she tried to spread the rumor that CT and Cara were coming in next which shook up a lot of people with some even threatening to quit if they came on. LOL.

They couldn't keep it going long but that must have been funny to see. Of course they wont show any of this.

  16. Pretty sure Hulks are temperature resistant so they don't even need clothes at all other than for modesty's sake.  It looks good to me and I assume Bruce would wear something similar with no issues.  I know I would rather wear short sleeves and shorts if possible than long sleeves and pants.  I wear them in winter all the time and I am not blessed with Hulk powers.

  17. I concede that cash bars are considered tacky by many based on the responses here. I have not been privileged enough to run in the circles where that was even considered so it was a shock to me. Most people and family I know live check to check so paying for people to drink aside from champagne during toast was not in the budget.  At my wedding we had wine during the serving of dinner only but anything else was cash only.  Free soda and non alcoholic drinks.  That has been the norm for my social circle although even though mine was the only one I have been to that had the wine during dinner. Obviously never been to a multi-day event either and it is extremely unlikely that will ever happen so that was the cause of my confusion.

Thanks to all for enlightening me on this world.  Just unfamilar to me.

On topic of the show, I am still enjoying it but they really do need to up the action a bit.

  18. I was today year's old when I learned that a cash bar was considered tacky since every wedding including my own I have attended (with one exception) has had a cash bar.

Clearly I am too low class to know people who can afford such things.
