Wait, what? I don’t remember the gossip on that. Please explain

It was more that everyone was getting annoyed with her, IIRC. Like @MrsEVH said, she and her boyfriend posted a bunch of very immature and occasionally insensitive or disrespectful TikToks. A lot of people were surprised TPTB let that happen since some of them could have been construed as damaging to the DCC brand. Her friends and family were also super OTT on social media supporting her, and there was definitely speculation that they were creating fake accounts on various platforms to make it seem like she had more fans than she did. It was just a lot of exposure and everyone got really fed up with it.

  2. Finale of season 7 is on right now, and Chelsea's asked a question, presumably "How are you feeling?" or something, as everyone is getting ready for the halftime show, and her response was just "I'm nervous and in a hurry", said really quickly and obviously annoyed. I think that's such an obvious marker of how fake she was on the show. She wants the attention but at the same time she wanted to be in complete control and she couldn't even pull it together enough to say "I'm really nervous but also really excited" or something similar.

Also, did anyone else see this photo of Madeline? Are they allowed to take other dance jobs while still on the team??

Love that she took on a charity gig, but that lighting and those costumes don't do anything for those girls. Weird shadows, bulky torsos, distorted panels of light on the faces...Madeline is gorgeous and I'm sure the other girls in the photo are as well but this is really unflattering.

Serious question for generally everyone on the whole “Cassie injury favoritism” thing (not meant to be snarky and not meant to be directed to just sATL)…. And for the record I’m not the world’s biggest Cassie’s fan….

Do people feel this way just because they feel she was generally out danced overall when injury free?  I can understand that because we all tend to have our own opinions and favorites etc.

But what I don’t get is how was her “injury favoritism“ much different than Brook’s ACL injury? Or Ashley Nicole’s knee injury?  (I can think of a few more as well.)  They were both vets and both were allowed to stay on through the end of training camp and make the team. I do believe their injuries happened at more “on the job/events” so to speak/DCC work related events (Brooke show group performance I think and Ashley Nicole…Judy said she was injured “in the kick line”).  I realize FOR SURE Cassie’s knee injury was pre-existing before her DCC career.  I get that.   But it was DEFINITELY aggravated by her work with DCC to the point where she went ahead during the off season and had the surgery hoping to heal up enough in time for auditions AND to make the team.  I would do the same thing if I was her.

So, all that being said, why is it such a huge problem that she was allowed some of the same grace the other injured vets got during/around training camp timeframe?   Besides the obvious case that could be made that it wasn’t directly/specifically an “on the job” occurrence, but instead during the off season.  But one “could” make that case that it was due to aggravation.  Danielle was in same situation.  So was Jinelle… and heck, Jinelle was even abroad and also hospitalized (albeit emergency) and missed many days of training camp.  Oh and let’s not forget about Daphne’s lackluster final audition dance due to pain and having to favor her knee….super low kicks… yet she was given grace to heal and brought back into camp struggling.

All these cases are different when you pick them apart for sure… and there’s lots of nuances, but you get my drift.  They were all given some kind of grace because they were VETS and a part of the team and they DESERVED some darn grace.

I guess I just don’t see the big deal in Cassie getting some of the same type of grace that the judges have a DEFINITE track record (aka a precedence) of setting…  that Brooke, Ashley Nicole, Danielle and MANY MANY others received and benefitted from.  Cassie was a good dancer, of course not the best one, but had all intentions of continuing on, was becoming a leader, was committed to DCC … and had the heart to continue on with the team 100%.  Like Kristi Scales said “There’s no doubt, Cassie Trammell is a DCC”.   On top of ALL THAT, then (and only then) you can add the icing on the cake… which is her mother being head choreographer… well heck yea she’s getting some grace and more time.  But, that icing on top does NOT negate/replace/or is in lieu of, the rest of the cake already being there.   I just don’t see the big deal.

    Unpopular opinion complete

This is what happens when I stay up too late…🤦‍♀️

I feel like the Cassie “injury favoritism” case is about as solid as the rookie Loni “down in the front of the squad photo” favoritism case…. Everyone must’ve missed the fact that rookie Abigail Klein was down in front too, only on the other side.😆

For me I think it's due to the fact that her injury was nowhere near healed and she needed to sit out of a lot of rehearsals and shows. Almost every other injury you mentioned - Danielle, Ashley, Jinelle - those were short term and they knew that with a couple weeks of rest they would be physically okay. Cassie's knee injury and surgery took much longer to recover from. And honestly I feel the same way about Brooke and Daphne. They're all good dancers, but they had long term injuries and couldn't/wouldn't have been able to fully participate in that season even after several weeks of training camp. I think Cassie and Brooke were favorites and Daphne's injury came after a year where TPTB took a lot of heat for all the veteran cuts so they were going to be nicer anyways (and that year was the first in a decade to have no vets actually cut - Amanda, Lisa, and Alora Rose quitting was different). So yes, there was favoritism in those cases. Personally I don't think any of those three should have been accepted back into training camp that year, or frankly tried out knowing they had such a severe injury. Take a year off, heal properly, and then come back the following year if you still want it. But I am happy they were consistent with it. As far as I'm aware there aren't any vets that tried out despite an injury and were cut because of it.

She's second only to the lady who made the girls get into the water tank and then ragged on them for their body fat percentage.  "You don't want to put THAT BODY in that teeny uniform!"

The ideal body fat percentage also changed between seasons. Season 3 with the girl you talked about said it was like 10-16% and she absolutely nailed a girl (Jordyn Ketchum maybe?) for having like 18% body fat. And then season 4 all of a sudden it was recommended to be like 18-25% and Ashley Kelly was told to gain weight when she had 16%. And in none of those critiques did they ever say, "Here's the number of a good nutritionist." Because seriously these girls are dancing SO much I'd be surprised if extra cardio would do much for them, it's much more likely to be their diet (though everyone's different).

    2. wtf happened with Ashley? She went from top scoring rookie behind Victoria to cut over her kicks which didn’t look that bad to me? Wtf?!

Someone else might be able to give more details, but from what I remember she flunked her written test twice. Her kicks were a concern but they would've given her the time to work on them had she not done so poorly on the test. They just used them as the on-screen explanation for her cut.

That's what I like most about Melissa Rycroft.  Her filming the girls as they rehearse and letting them SEE what they are doing wrong is the best approach, in my opinion.  Far better than Judi saying "do you know what you did wrong?"

I agree that watching yourself dance is super helpful, but at the same time I understand Judy's critique. Melissa is very rarely pointing out choreography mistakes, she's trying to help the girls see if they're stiff or lacking expression, things that they definitely wouldn't know themselves. When Judy asks someone if they know what they did wrong, it's always a matter of them doing the choreography incorrectly and her expecting them to know what the correct step is, which is a reasonable expectation. She could probably approach the topic more carefully but I still get why she does it.

Her hair color looks different this year, more icey blonde.  I think if they warmed up the tone it would make a huge difference.

Personally I think they should do this to at least half the blondes on the squad. Most of them seem to have the same shade of blonde, very little dimension in their hair, and I think some lowlights and a general toner would do wonders for them. Plus (and this is just my opinion) I really think the icy blonde look only works on girls who are paler. When someone is tanner then the iciness just turns too white for my liking.

  9. I just noticed, on the website, Victoria's bio page doesn't have any photos of her. All of the vets have photos from their previous seasons, mostly on the field but some old cameos or swimsuit shots. Considering that she's technically a third-year veteran, I would expect her page to have pictures from a few years ago. Just something weird that I saw while going through the girls' pages.

Also, the different sizes of the cameos on the "Our Team" page is killing me! Ashlee's picture is absolutely TINY compared to Kelcey's next to her. Pretty sure I complained about this last year too. They need a better UI designer for their site. And while I'm ranting, half the pages on their website won't load if you use the back arrow to go to the page you were previously on and it bugs me so much.

Someone refresh my memory...  2019 Kat, Lily and Meridth made the team, there were 37.  So what did K&J do every week during the season - have a dance off to see who would be in the game ?

I believe there were a couple weeks where someone missed a practice and therefore sat out of the game, but Gina hurt her ACL partway through the season so that made it a non-decision and the other 36 women danced the rest of the games. I never heard about any dance-offs.

  11. Between episodes getting extended to an hour and prelims and semis getting their own episodes, everything past season 12 takes SO LONG. I turned on Pluto and caught the tail end of the final episode of season 12, and I didn't want to watch prelims or semis so I figured I'd wait for a bit and come back when finals are on. Come back what feels like a decent amount of time later and the semis aren't even halfway over.

Back to the point of there hasn't been any cuts made so far, have they taught the entrance? That normally gets someone... And/or they are not dancing big enough for the field.

Will miss Judy's screaming..." One, two , three, line!"..

How many in training camp 45?

I'm going to miss her weaving critique into said screaming:

"PRESENCE, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, one and two, don't skip, five and six, seven and line, Breelan, THINK, three, LINE, five, six, seven, eight" (throwback to S9)
