how did Abby know Merritt was pregnant with tags kid? Did tag tell Tom that Evening?

Merritt told her. That's why they had that argument on the beach.

Ignore me. I'm thinking of Amelia, not Abby. 🙄

  2. I loved it but "rich people behaving badly" stories, whether in books or on screen are my kryptonite.

Will it win any awards? Absolutely not. But I thought it was a fun, deliciously trashy, high end, soap opera that made for a perfect late summer binge.

I'll sit at my table for one though because I HATED the intro dance. I couldn't scramble for the remote quickly enough to skip that nonsense.

    Detective Henry was my MVP.

So now they're kind of left fumbling trying to figure out other ways to make him sound scary to their base, and there's just...really nothing there to grab on to.

  4. I was hoping Ryan would shitcan Jonathan in the office, forcing him to do the walk of shame to leave but Hudson Yards was just as satisfying. Especially because Jonathan mentioned that he was "making content" when Ryan arrived. 🙄

If there is a second season, I hope the focus is on actual agents instead of the influencers. I'm betting that a lot of them don't have any interest in fawning in front of the camera for Netflix but I need less of the "reality tv" shenanigans.

Cmon Netflix, make a show for boring old farts like me!

Chloe leave your dog at home. The clients don't like it. Savannah don't wear jeans to an expensive listing. Jonathan just SHUT UP.

When she was letting her dog walk all over the kitchen counter at the office...😤 And who was watching the dog at the Jardim party??? Was she just letting her wander around unsupervised amongst 50 people?

I am a dog owner/dog lover and dog owners like her infuriate me.

Jonathan: I'm apologizing to you because Ryan told me to.    Is this guy for real?  Lol, in what world is that an apology?  He's so rude, and clueless at the same time.

He is such a monumental douche. Narcissism, thy name is Jonathan. And I don't know why he was only made to "apologize" to Savannah, he and Jess talked shit about a lot of people.

  6. I've only watched 2 episodes of this but I'm a sucker for NY real estate so I'm all in. I've watched Ryan on Million Dollar Listing: NY for years and HATED him for the first few years but softened towards him after an episode where he was shown wandering around lower Manhattan after Super Storm Sandy with basically nowhere to go and no friends to reach out to.

The thing I most dislike about this series so far is that no one they're featuring seems to be a "real" agent. I get the sense that a bunch of Instagrammers and TikTokers answered a Netflix casting call and maybe passed the licensing test by the skin of their teeth, if at all. I wouldn't trust any of them with my home. Not that any of them would be interested in selling my humble abode. 😊

  7. Yep! I live right near a high end place that's run by a Top Chef winner. It started out as a la carte, went to prix fixe, went to tasting, and then just recently, back to a la carte.

They specificially cited wanting regulars as one of the reasons.

  8. Ugh, I am SOOOO over the Faks. Please get them off of my screen.

I also don't really care about Claire and whether she and Carmy ever get back together. They haven't done enough with her to make me emotionally invested in that journey.

At this point, I'm hoping that Sydney does decide to go with Shapiro because she deserves better. But she at Natalie can remain friends because her care package for her and Pete warmed my heart. Brought to mind when she made her that omelette last season.

  9. I absolutely HATED everything with John Cena and the Faks. Stop trying to shoehorn these slapsticky teenage boy antics to justify your inclusion in the comedy category. It just doesn't work for me AT ALL. If you can't organically incorporate comedy, then hire some experienced comedy writers for crying out loud.

I adored Sydney's bonding with Marcus over the Dead Moms' Club and was thrilled when Natalie went to bat for him with The Computer.

Does Carmy not keep notes on what the menu is each night? I know he doesn't know WHEN the critic came in, but the fact that they were all standing around like "I don't know" was really frustrating. They're making it difficult for me to root for Carmy this season.

I didn't care for this one (aside from the great opening sequence).

It seemed like the writers decided, "This is going to compete as a comedy at the Emmys, so let's give them some laughs!" And the only way they could think of to accomplish that was to have the characters scream "get fucked!" at each other over and over again.

It seemed like Richie has wildly regressed after all the progress we saw him make last season.

    Such great comedy writing. 🙄

I was just discussing this with a friend over the weekend. We distinctly remember Orange is the New Black getting shunted to the "opposite" category by the Emmys after the first season. (Neither of us could recall which category they originally started in.) I'm sincerely hoping that happens here.

Anywho, Carmy is going to have a nervous breakdown if he keeps this up. Or the restaurant will quickly go bankrupt. I can't imagine Oliver Platt will keep paying those bills.

  11. I haven't watched episode 2 so yeah, not clicking on that.

If when I watch it, it changes my opinion, I'll admit it but 2 seasons +1 episode have done nothing to convince me that this show belongs in the comedy category. But that's a debate for other threads. 😊

I'm off topic here, but tho i like Seth's show, i find some of his behaviors kinda ... umm, odd. Like he has to hug everybody with his right arm high in the air like he's gonna strike them or something. He has no feel from one guest to the next whether it's a hug or a handshake or what, and always that arm straight up like a pole or something. He's so weird. But Closer Look is great. However another bad thing he does is he thinks he's the king of impersonation, and it's always the same voice. He loves doing tRump. And another thing he does is belittle the HELL out of his writers, especially picking on one or two guys. It's funny at first, but he makes it a habit, those writers should start feeling kind of intimidated by it all. Oh well, beats dead air, i guess. :)

There's a forum for Seth Meyers:

  13. I found it REALLY intense and it just hammered home the fact that THIS SHOW IS NOT A COMEDY!

But I loved seeing the "how we got to this moment." It was much more effective than any "Previously on The Bear..." could have been.

Okay. I have been looking things up.  I might have to move back, and I hate that it seems to be just as bad as over here.  Other than the family and friends that I love, the one thing I thought I’d have, was health care.

I strongly suggest subscribing to The Guardian's daily email blast. Yes, The Guardian has certain biases but I find them to be more objective than the other dailies.

Context: I keep up with the UK news for my job.

  15. I thought this was a bit of a mess. I had never heard of this group before and this series did not prompt me to go down the rabbit hole which is usually what happens with cult documentaries.

It seemed very unfocused and unfinished.

Ugh, Rob. I don't care to see him for the 1000th time.

I stopped watching Survivor AGES ago and I still think I've seen him play that like 3 times. Does he do anything else besides competition shows?
