I love the self haircut.  I used to do my buzzcuts myself with a head shaver and they always turned out fine.

Yeah, but you probably didn't take 48 Vicodin before you did it.  He's lucky he didn't shave off his entire scalp.  He wouldn't have felt it.

Amen!  Amber has this sour look on her face when she is with Anna.  It was particularly evident in that scene where they are walking into the school building, Amber is in front of Anna, she walks through the door first, doesn’t even look behind and barely holds the door open for Anna.  Amber’s face reflects PURE DISTASTE.

Anna had assessed the situation perfectly.

Amber almost always has that look on her face.  She looks like she is smelling something nasty.

Clearly I have way too much free time (😉), because look what I found:

"Scapegoat has a fascinating history. Today the word is used to refer to one who is wrongly blamed for something, but it originated with an actual goat.

In the Jewish and Christian Scriptures, God ordained a particular day during which the entire nation of Israel would set aside work, and during which the priests would atone for the sin of the whole nation. Among the rituals prescribed was the scapegoat:

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the Lord, and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the Lord’s lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness. —Leviticus 16:8-10, KJV

The scapegoat carried the sin of the people away with it, thereby cleansing Israel for another year.

The English scapegoat is a compound of the archaic verb scape, which means 'escape,' and goat, and is modeled on a misreading of the Hebrew ʽazāzēl (which is probably the name of a demon) as ʽēz 'ōzēl , 'the goat that departs.' More modern translations render scapegoat in this text as Azazel, but the misreading endured and has entered the lexicon."

    History of scapegoat

Now, how many of you knew the Mayflower Compact is the name of the ship Christopher Columbus sailed on his expedition when he "discovered America"?

    Anyone?

I learn so much from Trent and Amber!

    Thank you for your research!

I don't understand why the producers didn't correct Trent about the Mayflower.

Last, about Alex.  He is constantly trying to get out of doing things (he's scared, he doesn't want to, he's hungry).  Amber always makes excuses for him (if he doesn't play, the teams are even), so I was glad that Trent tried to make him get up and play the game.  Alex is a whiny, crybaby.

Congratulations to Rose and Varya on becoming official card-carrying members of The Mens Don't Control Me club! ❤️ ❤️

Why do people keep saying things like this about Varya?  She changed her mind when he left her at the airport, she ran inside and said "yes", and then he blew her off.  It really pisses me off that she gave him the upper hand.  I was sooo hoping that she would let Pouty McBeater just keep on walking.

Aren't kids a non-negotiable thing that comes up pretty early in a relationships? I flat out told my now husband that kids were off the table when we first started our romantic relationship, that there was not point in proceeding if he wanted children because it wasn't going to be with me.

Sorry but I HATE children and I would be a terrible parent. I'm sure your children are lovely but having a child is probably the worst thing that could happen to me.

Lol.  I totally get you.  I can't stand children either, there is not a single thing about them I like, but mention that to people, and they look like you just kicked a puppy or something.  Puppies I like.

If I were Rose, I would have been done when Ed claimed he was "attacked" by the monkey.  He acted like a little pussy.  I bet he's also scared of spiders.  I would not have any respect for someone like that, and I just can't be attracted to someone who I don't respect.

When Ash asked if he made Avery feel loved, like a woman...yadda, yadda, yadda, I hated that she actually told him yes.  She should have asked him what the fuck that had to do with anything.

She also didn't bring up how he found her leg hair gross.  Was there ANYTHING he liked about her?  Oh yeah.  Boinking her.

Really!  Next he'll "gift" her some Proactiv, because he's so concerned about her bad skin.

Rage?  He laughed during that conversation.  He wasn't raging and didn't even seem angered.  He hugged the guy after.

It's funny because I also got the feeling that he was getting really, really pissed off.

For the people saying that having a full garbage means he didn't just return from Russia.  Some bachelors are not exactly the cleanest people.  He probably just didn't empty the garbage before he left.

I figure that after Ash declared bankruptcy (does anyone know what his last venture was?), he had to figure out his next move and stumbled upon “life and relationship coaching” which means anything you want it to mean. The bottom line is that he has no credentials, probably read a self-help book, thought “I can do that!”, started trolling the internet for victims clients and managed to pass himself off as someone with some cred when he’s really just a charlatan. He preyed upon women who weren’t willing to think about his advice in a critical way. He speaks in pop psych word salads.

l’m a retired psych professor. Trust me, like Jon Snow, Ash knows nothing. And way to read a room, Ash. You have a group of young women who appear to be career oriented, have grown up to believe that feminism means climbing the corporate ladder (as opposed to what it used to mean, that women should be able to choose whatever direction they wanted to take) and wouldn’t buy the gender caricatures that he presented. Although it worked for middle aged, middle class, under appreciated wives in the 1990’s, semi-aware Gen Z women don’t buy it.

The scary thing is that it's not about Ash reading the room.  I think he really truly believes that he wasn't saying anything wrong, or anything that should upset the women.  I think it's the way he really feels.  Avery should run.

Liz is the over achiever of the family....so she may be more insufferable than the rest.

She is the goody two shoes child, artistic, athletic, and a good student so she can carry an air of superiority about her.

Liz is the perfect child compared to Joshua who slacks in academics and work ethic.

She's obedient instead of the "wild" Anna, is confident compared to the "shy" Emma and mature compared to the "baby" Alex.

That is Liz's role in the show's story line....

I think Jonah was a straight-A student until he went to college.  Or at least, a very, very good one.

Doesn't Trent realize the reason that post was in the kitchen, was because that's a load-bearing wall?

  10. The proposal made me cry.  He really loves her so much.  He was so nervous about what he was going to say.  I love that he said that he knows women talk about their proposals, and he wanted Amy to have a "story" too.   After 3 years together they really, really know each other, good and bad.  No one can keep up a false front for 3 years.  They travel a lot together, and you really get to know someone when you travel with them.  Very early on he mentioned that he saw her angry, and he told Amy he was afraid it would be directed at him in the future.  It must have caused Amy to really think about how she handles her anger, because it wasn't brought up again, and hasn't driven him away.  He knows that she's a pessimistic person (who wouldn't be, after all those years with Matt?), and tries to bring out the optimism in her.  Maybe once she's off the farm, and away from Matt she'll be more naturally optimistic.

To whoever asked how they met.  They both attended a sip and paint event, but they didn't even talk to each other that night.  A little while after that, Amy had a pool party, and invited people from the prior event.  That is where they really met, and started getting to know each other.  It was at the pool party when Chris asked Amy to go for a motorcycle ride.  I think Chris fell for her right away, because it wasn't long after that first ride that he modified his bike with special foot pegs, so that Amy could ride more comfortably.  No man modifies his Harley unless he's pretty sure there's a future.

Matt and the whore homewrecker really did Amy a huge favor, because now she can spend the 2nd half of her life being happy, and having adventures with a man she really loves, and who treats her well.  Caryn's future is wiping the shit off Matt's whiny, cranky old ass.  You wanted him, you got him Caryn, and I'm sure you'll just love being his full-time caregiver.  I love Karma.

I laughed that the 2 things Amy wanted to keep from the garage were the life vest, because she needed it for canoeing with Chris, and her camping lantern.  Everything else could go.

What Zach and Tori did was NOT camping, but it was cute.  They're cute together, I love it when they play-bicker.

  11. If you have 5 kids and you pay $25 for a place mat, you are officially an idiot.  You're a double idiot if you don't remove said place mats when the kids are at the table making slime using glue and food coloring.

So, instead of trying to work through Louie's issues with cats and Trent, they gave him away.  I might have still been okay with them getting another dog if they had rescued one from a shelter, but it looks like they went to a breeder instead..........That sucks.

So, let's assume for a second that Lana is a real woman who really lives in wherever the hell.

A man she has refused to meet suddenly just decides to show up in her city, admits to it and goes around to your favorite haunts asking people if they can give him your personal information.  After you've ghosted him and stood him up.

If Lana was a real person, this is so stalkerish and abnormal.  I think we laugh because it's a scam, but if a woman has been this clear that she has no interest in meeting you, and you so all this....you're a stalker.

That David honestly thought that she was going to meet him and suddenly want to start the Visa process when she has ghosted him several times is just so weird.

And OMG, that darcy'esque bird bath.  Yikes.  At least he didn't spray any axe or body fantasies colonge on his balls.

Men who cannot take no for an answer aren't cute, they aren't pitiful they are scary and creepy.

I would agree with you, if she had ever said NO to him.  She continued to promise to meet him, accept gifts, have online sex, etc.  She has never told him that she didn't want to see him, and she never told him that she didn't want to message him anymore.  I know she doesn't exist, but the sake of argument let's say she does.

Caryn is waiting patiently and putting on a good show for Matt. I am convinced she is only in it for his money. Why else would you love a creep like Matt? Amy married him when he had nothing. Would Caryn do that? Hell, no! The only thing I can't figure out is why the kids all seem to like her. She is one damn good actress!

Because she will babysit for them at the drop of a hat.  That is like gold for a parent.  Plus, if Caryn marries Matt, they won't get stuck taking care of him, when he can no longer take care of himself.
