Just so you know, Team Molly & TJ here. Anyway, this story would have been good soap had it not been so horribly, terribly written. It was always clear to me that we were headed to a battle between Molly and Kristina over the baby, but I never expected that the people who are paid quite well to write for this show would not be able to craft a story that made a modicum of sense. Of course Kristina would want to keep the baby. But her 'excuse' that I'm supposed to accept that Molly & TJ were breaking up because they were not getting along makes no sense at all. So M&T had some disagreements. So what? That happens to the best of couples. Plus, they seemed to go out of their way to make it seem like Molly & TJ are awful people due to the way they express their concern for THEIR unborn child. Child, please.

THIS. All day, every day. When PM was made head writer, there seemed to be an effort to add some nuance to the mob BS, but it very quickly dissolved into the piece of excrement we see today. As much as I'd like to dip back in when Rick Hearst arrives, I'm not sure I can handle the poor excuse for storytelling that awaits his character.

I'm not sure it's fair to say that Ava doesn't care that Kristina fell. But I think she's aware enough to know that no matter what, she would be blamed because she's THE EVUL.

I have a different perspective about TJ's reaction to his daughter's death than most seem to here. Not everyone reacts the same way. There's often nothing rational about the way a person reacts in this situation. Plus, he's spent MONTHS terrified of something happening to his child and lo and behold, something awful did happen. Did his fear cause him to react in ways unsympathetic and/or rational ways? Why yes it did. To me, that doesn't make him a terrible person. It just makes him human. Besides, I'm so tired of this show trying to make me think that any of the non-mob characters are anything but flawed human beings. There's no one more awful than Mooby, Snarly and Jason the Enabler. IMO, of course.

Ava. Sorry about that! Ric and Ava. Sorry!
-
I just had a thought -- I want an Alan-Michael, er, RIC and AVA to fall madly in love. I want them wreaking havoc all over Port Chuck, driving the holy trinity and their enablers mad. If the so-called writers at GH had any sense, they've make this happen!
-
I'm not nearly as mad at TJ as most seem to be. This story has been horribly written from the start and someone has to be the 'villian,' I guess. Plus, I don't get too angry at anyone show isn't part of the holy trinity of this show, no matter how badly they behave. As for Ava, while I love having her front and center, this stupid story is not worthy of the character or the actress playing her. And Anna's smug face can take a seat in the corner after her recent ridiculous behavior re Valentin.
-
Wow, I didn't know that! I must have been on the barge while that was happening.
-
This is just so, so stupid, just like everything else that's happening on this show right now. I can't believe there are people getting PAID to write this drivel. Has someone at Disney/ABC made them write it into the ground to drive down the ratings so much that it will give them the excuse they need to cancel this show?

It may have been fashionable to have a mobster as a lead character in a soap 25 years ago at the height of the Sopranos mania, but the world is different now. It's way past time for this show to portray Sonny as the criminal he is. That would add so much opportunities for the writers to give complexity and depth to the other characters. So many wasted opportunities.

In a 'normal' show, I couldn't agree with you more. But on THIS show? Nothing and no one is worse than the Corinthi, Snarly and their friends and enablers. That said there's nothing happening now that I find the least bit palatable, so it's back to the barge for me!
-
Thank you! That explains the storyline whiplash that I've been feeling.

Would someone be so kind as to fill me in on the BTS drama that's been referred to numerous times? Clearly, I'm out of the loop!
-
Maybe that's what they were going for, but it ain't workin' for me! My thoughts exactly! The bones of the story are good soap, but the execution of it is really terrible.

I decided to wait until today to say this but everything that's been going on with Ava lately makes no sense. Ava is a lot of things, but dumb isn't one of them. The Ava we've been watching for years on this show is too smart to have used the tape this way. Of course she would understand that Natalia would remember that she had this conversation with Ava. Nor would Ava have approached Trina so ham-handedly about getting intel on Sonny. She would have approached Trina much more subtly and indirectly. Speaking of Trina, Ava would never have ranted about Sonny the way she did to Trina. Again, she's too smart for that, knowing Trina's relationship with Jocelyn. Look, I'm thrilled that scheming Ava is back. I just didn't expect that she'd leave her brain behind in Sonny's penthouse.

For the first couple of weeks after the new writers took over, I was optimistic and engaged. Then... I don't know what happened, but I'm so bored! I just don't care about any of these storylines. It's all a big yawn. Meanwhile, I'm team Molly & TJ with this surrogacy nonsense. I totally get why they're so concerned about Kristina's emotional state, thanks to here less than reliable history. But that said, I don't really care about this either. It's all clearly going to end up with Kristina trying to keep the baby. Yawn.

Couldn't agree more with all of this. Meanwhile, I almost jumped on a high-speed launch back to the barge during the Carly/Jason nonsense at the end of the episode. Ugh. Especially since next week will likely feature the 'apologize to Carly' tour featuring Olivia, Sam and anyone else who DARED suppose that Jason was indeed the one who shot Dante. Keeping the launch on standby with the motor running just in case.

Based upon some of the comments here about the writing on this show ticking up recently, I returned from my trip to the barge last week. Overall, things do seem to be getting better. That said, anyone else burst out laughing at Joss' reaction to learning her boyfriend, the mob boss' flunkie, admit to being ready to carry out said mob boss' order to murder someone? Boy, was that some clunky writing.
-
This is my dream scenario!
-
This is BRILLIANT! I humbly beg of you to do these daily.

Looks like it might be time for me to spend some time on the barge. Despite the despicable Carlys and their enablers, for a while I was able to find enough to interest me, but not anymore! But the insane treatment of Nina, not to mention Jason's impending return, It's just all so unwatchable. I'll keep checking back here from time to time and hope that at some point something will happen to bring me back. In the meantime, keep up the good work here, y'all. You're thousands of times more entertaining that what passes for General Hospital these days.
-
I didn't see Nina's request for forgiveness as entitled. She was asking, not demanding. And as hard as it was for her, she expressed a willingness to forgive the woman she feels played a part in Nell's death. Instead, in typical fashion, having truly heard nothing Nina said, Carly threw it back in Nina's face.

So many thoughts. Kristina is the WRONG person to be the surrogate if she's going to provide the egg. She's never experiences pregnancy, as Sam pointed out, but for her to be the biological mother would be disastrous for all concerned. I was never a fan of the actress playing Kristina when she was on Days, and I don't like her know. Something about her gets on my nerves. Shut up, Joss. Shut up, Portia.
-
I guess I'm pretty alone in this (what else is new?! 🙂), but in no way do I think Curtis not telling Portia about kissing Jordan is on the same level as Portia keeping the secret about Trina's paternity for 20 years! They were on a break! And while he did move back into the house, he's sleeping in the guest room, a clear sign that all is not well just yet. I have no problem with him wanting to wait to tell her until he had a better sense of whether or not he wanted the marriage to work out. Now if they'd kissed and made up without him saying a word, that would be different. Anyway, just my opinion.
-
I used to like Portia, but between her desperate attempts to salvage her marriage and trying to sabotage Sprina. Plus, she provided aid and comfort to the woman who tried to send her daughter to prison! I get that she had to give Esme medical care, but she didn't have to give Esme ideas about putting something over on Spencer. I just can't with her anymore.
