Aw Mercy got her Real World New Orleans Book signed by the cast.

I legitimately started crying when I saw Shorty and Mercy on screen.  I lived for hearing all of the stories about them that Melissa used to share on her blog back in the day, including a video of a song that Justin Beck and Shorty wrote for Shalom either before or soon after she was born.

I loved that entire section of the show (and I need Mercy to come to my house to make pancit and lumpia). Hoping that they have many more healthy and happy years together.

I want to know why I hThey''aven't been able to watch this week's episodes on Britbox.  Same was happening with Emmerdale and Coronation Street, but they finally showed up.   So where's Eastenders?

I was able to watch episodes on Britbox directly this week - I signed up for a trial because they hadn't been posted on the Prime Video portal.  When I looked at the Prime page earlier today, this week's episodes had been posted.

I presumed Steve's hearing loss could have come from loud music - working in the bar for so many years, maybe?  I couldn't recall any other mention of the bar after John Corbett left the show, though, so in their fictional NYC it may not even be still open.

I also (couldn't help but) wonder if an Alzheimer's diagnosis fror Steve might be in a future episode given what happened with his Ma and her decline.

Ayanna cracked me up when she had her uniform on already. "I SLEPT IN MY UNIFORM LAST NIGHT!" Sometimes people I dislike make it really hard to dislike them (same for Nehemiah and his Brad beard and no blinking)!

I nearly died laughing when Ayanna started taking off her jumpsuit and had her uniform underneath.  I am still side eyeing her for how she did Sophia so dirty but the callback to that moment was funny.

Never really knew why Irene scheduled her marriage when she knew the show would be filming, but now it sounds like she was miserable and felt unaccepted because she was a LEO, so she and her fiancé moved the wedding date up so she'd have an excuse to leave gracefully.

I recall reading an interview with Bunim-Murray somewhere years ago (if my brain isn’t failing me) that they specifically cast someone who was getting married because they wanted to make that a storyline on the LA season.

How does Dorit sound more American as PK than she does as Dorit?

I thought the EXACT same thing when she was imitating PK.

Crystal is a stone cold G, I have to give it to her. Sutton was completely deflecting the situation because she had not brought a gift for Garcelle, goes against her all the way properly raised Southern lady image.  The calmer [general] you can remain while the other person falls apart, the better you look.  Hoping that this whole Thomasina storyline gets a rest soon.

  7. I binged all five episodes last night.  I had a feeling going in that I was going to wither away to dust from reliving the 80s or be a sobbing mess from my memories of that decade by the end of the series, especially of the friends that were lost to AIDS in those years.  Turned out to be a little of the former and a whole lot of the latter.

Well done, RTD.  I loved every minute, even the ones that broke my heart.

Dorit’s outfit was so wrong that it was right, and the hair was very cute in a Sandy-at-the-end-of-Grease kind of way, but the lateness was so rude that the entire outfit actually lost its appeal.  I commented last season that Dorit can get away with fashion that Bethenny Frankel couldn’t get away with, because Dorit makes it look like fun, whereas Bethenny makes everything look like work.  When Dorit is this late, it takes any type of effortlessness out of the equation, and she just looks like a late, vain asshole to me.

I heard someone say "I don't think it was worth it" in response to "it better be worth it" (referring to the reveal of Dorit's dinner outfit after the long wait) and that laid me out laughing.  I am pretty sure that came from Garcelle.

I've now caught some eps/the endings of Exes 2, Bloodlines, and Rivals 3 on Pluto TV but they never show Invasion of the Champions for some reason. Or at least I keep missing them if they do.

Invasion of the Champions is on Pluto TV right now (July 8th at 9:00 PM PDT).

  10. "I'm not going to throw Nelson's name under the bus."   Oh, Cory.

Can the phrase "under the bus" be retired now, please and thank you?  This show ran it into the ground a long time ago but that pretty much sealed it as deader than dead.  (It did make me cackle, tho.)

I wish Pluto TV would add the first BOTS to their rotation. What a glorious season. Man, the memories!

The Wicks got on my absolute last nerve so Belou going in and letting have on them was everything.  One of my favorite scenes from all of the Challenges.

  12. If you ever told me before tonight that I would actually think kindly of Johnny in all the years I have been watching the Challenge, I would have died laughing.  He still works my absolute last nerve but I did appreciate how he spoke to a clearly devastated Wes at the end.

(Not going to lie, though, my first thought when he won was the words of John Lydon: "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?")
