I don't think producer shenanigans or vote rigging took out Mirai, I think the figure skating skating fan base decided it was time to pick a side. At the end of the season, people stop vote splitting and go all in on their favorite. At the Stars on Ice show I saw this weekend, the crowd was enthusiastic about Mirai but batshit insane for Adam.

It was a farm tractor, not a tractor trailer.

Paul Wylie fan club forms here! He's such a doll. If Nancy was calculating enough to decide on a PR strategy in the midst of the shock and pain of being attacked, she'd never have let herself be caught on camera snarking about Oksana and Disneyland. I was never a big fan but I've been finding her social awkwardness on the show kind of endearing so far. She's not letting her issues keep her from getting the job done.

Choreography is consensual.

There is an enormous divide between "giving off a trashy vibe" and being groped. I don't care how suggestively someone dresses or acts, that's not an free pass to paw them.

Dancing On The Grassy Knoll: Conspiracy Theories
Barbara Manatee replied to Bella's topic in Dancing With The Stars
I think the producers did what they did to keep Charlie OUT of the finals as soon as they realized he and Meryl weren't going to give them any rivalry drama. They only needed one of them in it to keep the skating/Olympics viewers watching, and it was better for the ratings to spread the other three spots around to different demographics. -
So Maks is aggressive and Derek is passive-aggressive, but they're both fanning the flames and I believe they are both mostly just playing the game. There may be some underlying hard feelings, but the Hough/Fam rivalry isn't much different than a showmance. Good for ratings, good for votes, but there's no real heat behind it.

I hope Chock and Bates don't read the forums, because the nearly universal glee right now would really leave a mark. I think the loss might be good for them in the long run, though. It felt as though they'd gotten a little complacent about being U.S. #1 - Tara claimed in NBC's Nationals preview that they were already looking ahead to Worlds. Big mistake.
-
Tanith tweeted today that she, Tara, and Terry just filmed a Nationals preview. Hopefully that means they'll bring her on board for the competition, too, because yeah, Tara and Johnny are terrible with the technical aspects of ice dancing. With them it's only about the costumes and their feels.

The tracker numbers come from the official scoring computer. I believe the points for each element show up as soon as 3 judges have entered their scores. The total will then go up or down as the rest of the judges weigh in and the callers review anything that looks questionable.

Oh Jeremy. Why does he keep torturing himself? It would have been so much better to end his career with the US title and Olympic medal than to dither around about retirement again and again, slipping down the ranks and looking miserable. Just rip that bandage off and move on.

S20: Noah Galloway: Army Strong
Barbara Manatee replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
How do you know either of his wives were the ones who left? What makes you think you know why? We don't know anything about these marriages, and we've got no basis to assign blame. Noah's been married twice - maybe he just isn't very good at it. -
S20.E11: Week 9: Semifinals
Barbara Manatee replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Dancing With The Stars
I would prefer that to having my marriage proposal come across to many viewers as a ploy for votes on a reality show. AT least that would have given the impression that getting engaged was worth more to him than a tv prize. But I admit to being the wrong person to ask, because I think public proposals are obnoxious under almost any circumstances. -
For money and pr, like all the other pros? He was second a year ago, and 1st the 2 seasons before that. I don't think he's been too mistreated.

I think if there was any fix, it was to get Noah into the final. The outrage vs inspiration argument is going to cause huge buzz all week. This part - 100% agreement.
