  1. It did surprise me when she got more interested and friendly when he told her he had a child, leading her to give keychains to them both.

Maybe Buck will say something about the babysitting he did when he thought Eddie was meeting up with Marisol, and Marisol will realize that date never happened.

I recall interviews at the beginning of the season, where the showrunners said that Ryan wanted to explore his relationship with Marisol this season. And here they are, having him do this cheating storyline already.

  2. The actress playing Gen does a good job. But it was stunning how little thought anyone had given to the fact that she lost her grandparents (who she thought were her parents) and then her sister (who was actually her mom and was raising her after the grandparents died) and now everybody left in her orbit is in a very dangerous job. She's almost too sane at this point. If she was brooding like Bode, I'd understand it!

I'm burned out on love triangles.

Vince: They took 12 months off his sentence and he only had 11 months left
    Sharon: What does that mean?
Me: [rolls eyes-- surely she knows that 12 >11?]

Of course they saved 3 Rock. That's good, but very television. I'm not complaining, though.

I enjoyed Vince singing and playing the guitar, which surprised me greatly.

I liked that Sharon knew Vince was BSing her and that she decided not to share the tent because of it.

Manny going rogure, punching people, acting out... it's like it's his turn to hold the "unreasonable and acting out" ball. I guess somebody's gotta do it? Is he actually trying to run away instead of facing the charges? That can't possibly end well.

  3. Chris Perfetti (Jacob) was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night-- looking sooooo gay--- much stereotypically gayer than Jacob. He said right away that they had wrapped filming for the season and, as he does every season when they wrap, he has returned to Brooklyn and changed his look.

It was a fun interview. They talked about meatball politics (he apparently said Lisa Ann Walter's meatballs rivaled his grandmother's, which led to some family turmoil), and other family reactions to the show, what he was like with teachers when he was a kid, among other things.

But mostly, I was wowed by his beard and bright yellow nail polish and just the change in affect.

I knew nothing about him outside his role on Abbott, so had no idea what to expect. Pleasant surprise.

it took Will about 12 seconds to see the drawing in Lily's room and to wonder if she drew it or if someone gave it to her.

I was kind of shocked that he pocketed it, though. Is it usual to steal things from the homes of families you're interviewing?

I've definitely noticed Angie and Betty seem to be friends now.

  5. I wanted to adopt the 12 year old chihuahua. I need a low energy pet.

The lemur was incredibly ... personable? This show does a great job of finding animals who are very enjoyable to watch.

  6. Maybe I was just in the right mood, but I also thought it was funny when Chris was passing out the plastic bags to the audience, at the end of the show on Monday.

  7. The thing about Will's trauma is that right now he's feeling guilt, but underneath that is the grief. The guilt is misplaced, but the grief is real, and real stuff ultimately hurts in a way you can't shrug off the way you can theoretically just deny a lie.

Not only did the foster mom die, but he lost yet another mom-- his original mom, then Amanda, and now this one.

It's really touching that instead of giving up, he's continued to commit to decency and he keeps trying to do the right thing, and to be open to love, instead of just withdrawing or becoming cynical and bitter.

He was quick to bond with Faith, for example.

He is still able to trust. He still cares. He doesn't protect himself from more pain by becoming callous.

He's a mess, but he hasn't been fully broken as happens to a lot of people after less trauma than he's had.

I like that they make it seem realistic-- he's not a superhero, he's just a person who's still trying.

Local weather broke in just as Uncle Antonio started knocking on the door! 😩

Can someone recap please and thank you? So Will had the gun, what happened then? 🙏🏽

I think you missed half the episode? I'm not sure I can remember enough to give a recap of the entire thing, but the key issue with Will's flashbacks is that he was living with a foster family where the woman was nice to him but the man was beating her severely and he was drunk a lot, so WIll hid his gun. One night the guy was beating the woman so badly that Will was afraid she'd die, so he got the gun and pulled it on the man. The man got the gun away from Will and was threatening to shoot Will. The woman tried to wrestle the gun away but in the process her husband shot (and killed) her. Will feels like it's his fault, but Uncle tells him it's not, that he was trying to help, he was a kid, and the abusive man was the one who was at fault.

  9. I think if you've been closeted for hundreds of years and lusting after a specific person, and that person turns out to actually be interested... maybe you are reserved and cautious but maybe you have a tidal wave of relief and express a wild abandon at last. The pent up emotion after being closeted and the relief felt after finally coming out and finding love is a big deal.

I think the decision to make the gay couple buttoned up and not-hot is a purely network driven kind of homophobic nonsense.

The show has been very frank about sexuality in all the other characters, including those who were buttoned up and repressed in life. We can make excuses all day long, but the fact is they chose to write the gay characters the way they did, and everybody else the opposite way.

  10. They clearly think it means something they consider scandalous. Either mom's been shacking up with a man  other than their dad/her husband, or mom's a "cross-dresser" -- which I guess they would consider shocking.

Or the shirts belong to someone else, maybe her birthdad, or birthmom, and she inherited them? Or she had rented the room to someone and the shirts belong to that person?

I get that they are in shock-- their mother died suddenly and they found out she had a whole life going on that they knew nothing about, and which their father didn't explain when it became obvious they were going to discover it-- which adds to the feeling that it's a scandal.

I wish I didn't feel so irritated by the two of them. I do genuinely understand that they are in shock. But both sisters seem so unpleasant, not just grieving but kind of obnoxious at the same time.

  11. I thought they forgot about Colter's family drama. I guess not.

I don't like when shows have a long running plot they do nothing to advance, and just dangle it like we're supposed to be interested in something even they don't seem to know anything about.

A mystery is only interesting if you actually get info and not just keep getting reminded that there's a mystery they aren't telling you anything about.

  12. But she seemed to think it was disloyal to her husband and children. She waited until after her mother died to do the search. Hiding it from her own offspring seems like a different issue, to me.

And her husband clearly knew and felt bad about it, from his behavior and saying he can't go there when his daughters wanted him to do so. He also didn't answer the phone calls, necessitating that they go to his house to inform him.

I think there had to be more to it than just the adoption.
