  1. I don’t know why judges were complaining about Jamie’s plating calling it messy. Micah presented his dish in a way which could have been done by a first grade student in a cafeteria tray in bad day.

I wonder if Jamie wanted to go home. When he was going back to the line after the judging, he said to the other contestants that he was ready to go home.

  2. Micah just plagiarized chef Grant plate. He spent every minute on camera sucking up to chef Achantz, or as Gordon would say, kissing up his arse.

Dorian, zero creativity. Just putting a cake in a bowl. How the heck are you supposed to eat. I think judges support her too much.

Jamie should have won. Maybe he is not as marketable as other chefs.

  3. I have watched some MC seasons in the past or other international editions where some candidates didn’t receive a lot of tv time at the beginning of the show. The, in the last weeks before the finals, they started to appear more on the screen.

Claudia was considered a low profile contestant (she was  “saved” from elimination challenges) and she won MC season 6.

By the way she has been working as a judge in MC Latino, and in my opinion she is better in that position than Aaron or Christina “I am a baker” Tosi.

Did you really expect her to keep her composure in that tag team challenge with Subha.  He was just walking around in a cloud.  I would have yelled at him also.

When you are forced to work with a person in a state of hysteria, the last thing you want to do is to lose your mind. Shuba did good when he had to do his part.

  5. Hawaii bald guy: he seemed like a really fun guy to hang out...but come on, he should have bought a house 20 years ago if he didn’t want to leave the area.

Key West mom: why did the realtor show her a house so out of her budget?

This is true for the individual challenges but not the "restaurant takeover" challenges, which I think are absolutely useless. They're not trying to be a head chef or run their own restaurant, so why are you making them cook on a line and screaming if they aren't the world's best team leaders?

I agree. You are looking for the best home cook, not for the best chef in a restaurant. That’s would be Hell’s Kitchen.

the way the show is edited makes you believe that in the team challenges the person who yells more or runs more is the leader. A real leader doesn’t need to be screaming to everybody.

In team challenges some of the people who “do good” are just managing a station, not really being creative or resourceful. Hey I fried 30 pounds of fries, I am the best... oh great.

I still believe when they show Shuba totally lost during a team challenge, probably only happens a few times, and if we could be there, we would see many contestants having to be redirected several times.

I haven’t worked in media in a while, but I doubt we watch even 10 per cent of everything that is recorded. In one of the European MC editions a former contestant said that in studio they spent the whole day preparing, recording and interviewing with several cameras and of course, only a small part of it was aired.

  7. I don’t care about team challenges very much. Too much drama  with the obvious casting 101 reality show contestants:  the “incompetent captain” , “people who believe they should be in charge bitching and whining the whole episode” ,  “blame storming”, “I told you so people”...

it is easy to hide in a group. Individual challenges are the important ones.

  8. I am still baffled why they are keeping Jamie in the background. He cooks well, gets along with others but somehow I don’t see him as an MC champion. Maybe he is boring and quiet, but MC10 contestants look like Boy Scouts compared to former editions.

I know the judges and producers’ decisions can be baffling. In MC junior they sent home two of the best cooks (Jaala and Mathew) and kept the other pair who did worse in the elimination challenge (Malia and Sadie).

Are they going to have an ep where they bring eliminated contestants back or is that only MCAu and MCCan?

Cuz I'm hoping Fred can come back.

They do that too in Dominican Republic and Spain.

they did in Argentina too, but I think they don’t do MC anymore there. By the way Argentinian judges were really scary.

I was glad Micah picked Subha, because he did what I always hope contestants will do on these challenges: pick the weakest. Picking the strongest never ever works out -- I can't remember a time in recorded history where a contestant picked someone to compete in an elimination that sends them home. It's unnecessary drama. Maybe they're bottom 3, but the judges don't send them home. Then that cook just makes an unnecessary enemy.

But picking the weakest forces the judges to keep the weakest, (to prove you wrong, of course) so they have to send someone stronger home. In a way, Micah's choice was helping to clear the field for himself, just among Shari, Noah, Nick, Bri and Fred. Had Micah done something like pick Dorian, she could've presented the judges with dog food and they would've kept her. That would've given them license to send someone weaker home, like Bri. But because Micah picked Subha, they have to keep him, and they've hyped up this "somebody stronger could go home" storyline, so Fred gets cut in a "shocking" elimination.

Now Fred's gone, Micah has the goodwill of the stronger cooks on his team (who are likely to win challenges and maybe not put him with a terrible partner) and Subha's still there, who he can ostensibly beat. As far as I'm concerned, Micah played that perfectly.

I like your explanation and how you defend your arguments, but I still think Micah should have chosen one of the strangest cooks.

This is a contest and people don’t come to make friends. I remember watching an edition of MC Spain where two young people became a couple and the judges kept them for a few weeks just for ratings and the they chopped them in consecutive weeks.

  11. Micah has forgotten he is in a competitive contest and he thinks he is in a high school club.

I don’t plan to watch any more. I will just read the boards. Was Fred wearing a sleeveless hoodie?

I guess his role was the California dude. But somehow I can’t imagine him as a beach boy,🏖️.

YES!  WTF???  Her plating is so boring, too!

(and, I do like her.  When Bri was cooking right.....her food looked delicious!)

Plating can be deceiving on Tv.

i thought Shuba food was a mess, but the judges liked the presentation.

I love taking pictures of the food I prepare or in restaurants and I have observed how difficult is sometimes to make a plate look good, specially in a quick picture in your phone.

I'm sure I'll think of some more later, but here are a couple:

Sweetened condensed milk:  Occasionally, I'll find a can that was forgotten in the back of the pantry.  When it's opened, it's turned butterscotch in color and is now kind of like dulce de leche.  It's not spoiled (can not swelled and no hiss when I opened and I've researched the topic), it just changed consistency as it got old.  It's not good for recipes (I tried that once for a lemon bar recipe and although it tasted okay, it made one unattractive beige-y pan of bars), but I'm guilty of putting the contents in the fridge and dipping out a spoonful now and then.  Tasty!

Double-stuff Oreos:  I buy these maybe once every couple of years (I can't trust myself to buy them more often) and my favorite way to eat them is to eat the chocolate cookie off of one side of one, then eat the cookie off of another one.  Then, I put the two together, cream sides touching.  I carefully eat the cookie off of one side.  Then I repeat the process until I have two chocolate cookies with a layer of cream filling about an inch high.  Then I eat my quadruple (?) stuffed Oreo.

In Spain they boil the cans of sweetened condensed milk and eat that as a dessert.

I honestly wonder why Subha applied for the show. He seems like a good enough cook but this competition is clearly not for him. I think he said during the first team challenge something like, I cook to relax, and I was like, have you seen this show?!?!

That being said, he's getting bullied a lot and it's not acceptable.

No matter how good are you in team challenges  and how well you cook with others, at the end, individual elimination challenges seal your fate.

I know it is very scripted but team challenges are always the same...A team cooks very fast and well . But the B team gets caught in  a nervous breakdown. Suddenly A team starts sending crap (burn, raw whatever) food and the judges start yelling at them. B team get their act together. Most of the times both teams are closer when customers vote, with a fed exceptions.

I give high praise for the blue team for not trying to start bickering and blaming to each other.

This is a very nice season of MC, compared to former seasons where the Alfa contestants  were backstabbing each other.

  15. Miicah has lost a great opportunity to send home one of his strongest rivals, or at least make that person nervous. I don’t think he is going to win. I am positive neither Dorian, Jamie or Sarah would miss the opportunity to eliminate him if they’d consider him a real threat.

About Shuba, Sarah said that he didn’t do well in teams but he can cook. I still believe producers  are trying to throw a red herring with supposed clumsiness.

I feel bad for Fred, finally he got used to be in camera and he was not blinking nervously as he did at the beginning of this season. He drove me crazy. Great baker.

Agree.  Some people aren't made for the team challenges.

I bet Gordon's hoping that Micah chooses Subha to cook.  I'm sure that's why this "twist" was introduced.

I have seen different  times the pick the worst or your team or pick/save one of your partners. People are expected to save the cooks they consider they can beat or force your direct rivals to cook.

I don't think choosing Dorian to face elimination is a good idea.  Micah and Dorian do seem to care for each other and the blonde Barbie Bri

I don't see Micah trying to get Dorian out, as those two seem pretty tight.  Dorian should have no trouble eliminating the blonde Barbie Bri, who has been in the bottowm for a few weeks in a row now, so she and Subha are next in line for elimination.  Yes, I was getting angry and was prepared for a blue side win last night, given all of Ramsay's biased help.

Everybody knows that some of the best cooks are going to go down now. Any elimination challenge can be the last one, and yes I know the producers will manipulate the result, same they did in MC junior, when they had to cook in pairs and the worst pair was not eliminated.
