  1. It occurred to me that maybe these  young working women haven't see Meeks on MJ, and have no idea how badly she performs and constantly defers to Joe? Most likely, they are getting ready for work and don't have the time to watch TV. How else can KYV and Earn It  be so profitable? I guess they haven't yet figured out the famous last name, and affair with the boss, that she doesn't mention.

  2. Oh Wow! I had no idea that she just happened to be in lower Manhattan on 9/11. From what I have heard, she makes it sound like she was quickly dispatched to report on that horrific day. How can anyone take her seriously, especially knowing how she misrepresents herself???? Do Heidi, Katie, Kasie and Nicolle know this????

I swear to God if she ever got a veteran female journalist to sing her praises, I would plotz!

Ah, but Stormy, she thinks she IS a veteran female journalist, and those who truly are, don't need (or want) her career advice. She's strategically targeting young, impressionable women with those  bogus  books and tours. And making lots of money, too.

  4. Okay, I had a sneaky suspicion that the author of the NY Times was/is a friend of MM. That article so infuriated me that I wrote to the Times and ask why the other ladies weren't mentioned as often as MM, how rude and condescending she is to the other hosts, and the audience as well.  Oh, and I also mentioned that the photo shopping made MM look much thinner than she really is! So, didn't get a reply, but felt soooooo much better just having written my letter.

  5. Huh? The Super Bowl???? What's with all these ridiculous praises regarding JoMeeka??? Did MSNBC pay these people to say all this stuff???? No wonder those two have such massive egos, all this phony adulation would cause anyone's ego to fly off the charts. I think the teleprompter quote is actually pretty funny considering how Mika struggles with it almost daily. Guess the "student" got smarter than the "teacher"????

  6. I'm still very upset over today's show. The pageantry and honors bestowed on trump by the Japanese prime minister was so over the top. Then, as Elise observed so well, trump turns around and stabs the Japanese in the eye by dismissing the missile launches by North Korea.  And takes joy in the attacks on "Bidan" by the same wacko dictator. Brett Stephens added more worries about a trump victory in 2020. Beto seems like a good guy, but is he ready for a presidential run??? And why did Joe find Elise's comment about the "stabbing in the eye" so funny????Nothing funny about it....IMHO.

Chris Hayes would be the best person for MSNBC to send; Joe and Mika the worst.  So let's send the worst.

I was thinking that, if they were free, Jon Meachem and Doris Kerns Goodwin, would be bring a lot of interesting history to Normandy. Chris Hayes would also be a much better choice. Why do they send the worst??? Good Question!

Because June 6 is the 75th anniversary of D-day, and if there's a solemn occasion to co-opt, you can be sure Tweedledum and Tweedledumber will be there to exploit it.

That's exactly what I am afraid of. They have no shame in promoting themselves and their books, bands, etc. I may not even watch, fearing I may throw something at the TV if they spoil such a reflective  day for remembering  those who fought and died on the Normandy beaches.

And he'll be telling us how he fought he way off the beaches and single-handedly liberated Europe from Nazi oppression.

I don't get why they would be in Normandy? I hope they don't start plugging their books. Friends of mine have been there, and they describe it as a very solemn place, knowing that so many lives were lost...hardly the venue for any type of "selling".  Let's hope common sense prevails.

Sorry, I have a "book deadline":) . Recaps should return to normal next week

Oakville, your book could be the biography of a Goldfish, and I'd buy 10 copies before I'd spend one dime on either one of JoMeek's books.

He’s back? After he advocated for the murder of two liberal journalists? Wow. Morning Joe is reaching new lows daily.

I missed this entire story. How could he advocate for such a heinous crime? And they invite him back??? "New lows daily"....oh yes. I often wonder why Jonathan Lemire sometimes appears on this show. He is on other news shows, and seems quite interesting.

  12. The first thing I saw on today's show was Mayor Pete's interview....I loved it. But I missed a great deal of the remainder of MJ. Did anyone talk about Robert Mueller's required conditions before he testifies in front of a Congressional Committee? Or, the nasty remarks coming from North Korea regarding Biden's presidential campaign? So, do we now need to worry about the North Korean's hacking our elections too?? Unfortunately, I did see Heidi's homage to Mika, and her fabulous mentoring skills?! Don't think I will ever have the degree of respect for her (Heidi) that I used to. But, wasn't that trump/Family Guy comparison funny? Happy Memorial Day to all.🇺🇸

Sneak into her house and take the books.

    Replace them with:

Michelle Obama's Becoming;  I am Malala; or Wild by Cheryl Strayed.

Or for fun and  role model material,  tell them to watch Aliens or Silence of the Lambs and watch 2 women put in much scarier situations than asking for a raise while putting up with a lot of shit from men.

Sit them down and tell them that the best way to learn to be strong and independent is to put yourself in the frame of mind that you have absolutely no one but yourself to depend on. Your parents aren't there to borrow money from or call when something bad happens;  know what you need to have around in emergencies, take care of your car so it doesn't break down, that $300 pair of shoes isn't going to make your life better and you just blew your cable and light bill money on something you won't want in a year. And whatever job you have, as much as it sucks, take on more responsibilities when you can, learn as much as you can about what the company does, and always let your boss know "hey just wanted you to know I took care of that...."  They might not always notice when you do little things but it'll pay off. Be the person your boss can depend on. For work, not the perfect cup of coffee.

And for the love of God, Mika Brzezinski is NOT a role model for women.

The mantra is I am smarter and stronger than I know, so I need to get off my ass and prove it.

I absolutely love this post, and the suggested books for women to read, rather than the nonsensical crap Mika gets rich on. Your advice is spot on!

I just wanted to add that when I refer to Ben Carson's ignorance and stupidity, I mean solely in relation to his position as HUD Secretary, for which I think he is patently unqualified.  I was surprised that he accepted the HUD position, given his background as a pediatric neurosurgeon, and I thought HHS or even CDC would have been a better fit.

It makes you wonder, doesn't it, why so many of the appointees were given positions in which they had absolutely no experience?  If they make a mistake "on the job while learning it",  millions of lives could be adversely affected. JMHO

I just realized it was UBS.

USB is that computer sticky in thing.

JK. One of my fave lines from Date Night. I know what a USB is.

Me too! I love that movie, and you need to watch it several times,( well, at least I did), to hear all the funny lines....great minds think alike!!!

  16. Have any career women (other than the co- author of Earn It) used her KYV  advice, and have their careers actually benefited from her suggestions??? I wonder if, after a while, some readers will come forward and criticize the whole money maker as false and misleading???? Just wondering🤔

I was glad I caught part of the interview with Joanna Mendez who's husband Tony is the character that Argo was based on.  What a wonderful couple they must have been and the stories they could share about their CIA days.  I am going to buy that book as I love that kind of stuff.  Willie did a great job with the interview while Meeks was doing her best beat-box immitation in the background.

Our local library has just one copy, so we are on the waiting list. I might just go ahead and buy it. I am so interested in what it must be like to be a real agent, not the Hollywood version, JMHO.

Miss Khadija Royal was something else.  Between her rat-a-tat-tat delivery, constant interruptions of Judge Judy, "ain't that somethin'?" after JJ dismissed them both, and post case violent paper straightening, I thought Byrd might have to physically restrain her from beating the plaintiff bloody.

Did anyone else wonder if she was a male  cross-dresser?? The way she carried on made me think she was trying too hard to act like an hysterical woman. I went from "she's a he"  to "she's a she" with huge butt implants and a truly abominably wig!  Still not sure🤔!

I guess I should like Rep. Katy Porter for calling out the ignorance and stupidity of Ben Carson, and I remember her doing the same thing to Kirstjen Nielsen before she left as head of DHS.  However, there's a certain smugness and knowitallness and playing to the cameras that she and Kamala Harris have when asking their "gotcha" questions, that turns me off.  I don't get that same vibe from other Congressional members when they're asking questions.

I, for one, am glad to see the Dems pushing back at the rudeness that they endure when trying to question those in front of the Congressional Committees. I  have one name to offer in their defense......Jim Jordan. I do hope someone is showing Carson how HUD works!!!

  20. It was a nice touch introducing their Mom and older sister.....they seem like a close, loving family. Being from the Pittsburgh area, it was making me crazy trying to figure out what neighborhood Steve's loft was in. Any other  Pittsburghers here who may have figured out just where they were??? I'll have to watch the show again.....that one church did look familiar. Steve was very excited and happy with his new home, it fits him perfectly.

If this turns into Today or GMA I’m out. I appreciate the more serious attitude they take toward stories at CBS and I agree the other two are like circuses. My take on Norah and Gayle is that they were at least work friendly (based on my instagram research!)

I'm with you, Marie......I don't like all that pop culture, celebrity news, and other "fluff stuff" that Today and GMA fill their shows with. I've watched the new format and hosts on CBS, honestly, I'm not too impressed. Gayle is much too overbearing, and is drowning out Tony and Anthony with her loud voice and opinions.....JMHO. It will be interesting to see the ratings.

Goodness I love me some Rep. Katie Porter.  It's Congresscritters like she and Sherrod Brown that continue to renew my faith in the system.  So great to see her shred Carson who clearly doesn't have a clue what his agency does and doesn't even have the good taste to look embarrassed.  Can't wait to see her train her sights on Mnuchin.  He better wear a cup, he's gonna need it.

I was shocked that it appears Carson was never educated for the HUD position. Didn't someone "show him the ropes",  after  he was appointed?? Yes, that was really funny, sending Katie Porter those Oreos.......just shows how seriously Carson takes his position IMHO.

How about Patricia Heaton? Michelle Malkin  or Ann Coulter would be great tv, but I think Sunny and Joy would lose their minds if one of them were hosts.

Malkin and Coulter are probably much worse than MM.....no one is more hate filled than those two. As for Heaton, meh....I think she is over-rated as an actress, and never really knew that much about her. There has to be more polished, professional Republican women than those three, who could restore The View to it's original format.........no screeching, no yelling, no nasty behavior toward the other hosts. Where the heck is she????
