  1. I don't think there was much civilian travel (excluding merchant ships transporting supplies) between America and Great Britain during the war.  At this time the British held New York and Philadelphia with a strong blockade, while the American Navy was tiny but had some success with privateering on merchant ships including off the British coast.  The Navy transported  American diplomats abroad and could be attacked as demonstrated on the John Adams miniseries.  Departing from Wilmington NC during the war would be very hazardous.

She said she was going to be at Valley Forge, which doesn't bode well. Also it would mean he'd have to turn right around.

That line had me rolling my eyes.  Amazingly clairvoyant of Rachel that the Continental Army would winter at Valley Forge almost two months later!  She wouldn't even know the name of this small place.  The army would only stay there from 12/77 to 6/78, and although there would be a desperate need for doctors and medical treatment in the early months, not much need in the spring months except for treating the officers for STDs.

I confess that I'm a major Revolutionary War nerd, and I'm very disappointed with the lackluster coverage after all the war buildup.  I was puzzled that Jamie was ordered from North Carolina to Vermont when there was the need for soldiers for the fighting in Pennsylvania.  However, they had to find a way to get him back to Scotland.

After the defeat at Saratoga, commander Gen. Burgoyne and all his officers were bound by the treaty to return to England and never fight Americans again.  The enlisted men became POWs in response to the horrendous treatment of American prisoners in prison hulks.  Therefore, William should be returning to England, and not romancing Rachel.  Of course, anything in possible in the Outlander universe.  I've thought of some historical possibilities that I might resurrect in the speculations topic.

*small voice* I named our ginger kitty Demelza. 😃

I've always thought that was a perfect name for a kitty.

I was a fan of the original Poldark, and the only Ross Poldark for me will always be Robin Ellis.  I'll aways remember the first season when it followed the last season of Upstairs/Downstairs.  I believe it was 26 straight weeks of must-see TV in those non-VCR days, although my PBS station had 3-4 repeats during the week.  It wasn't interrupted with pledge drives either!

Some years back I got my hands on the original series, but except for the first episode, a few key scenes, I just couldn't go through the storyline rigmarole again.

Yep. Blame the mechanics, Jill. For not magically fixing your 20+ year old RV with heaven knows how many hard miles on it. Which has been housing, and hauling around, a large family for the last several years.

With all the Stimulus money the Rods received, and the importance they place on preaching, praising, grifting, they should've thought of spending some on a newer used RV instead of all on their Amish-built remodeling.  That new staircase severely injured Jill's knee.  Perhaps God was trying to tell her she did wrong? 🤣

I can accept everything else, but who has a parade after dark?

We do in Minneapolis.  It's our Aquatennial Torchlight Parade that kicks off our Aquatennial Festival which celebrates all our lakes, river, streams in the city.  It happens to conclude today, the parade was on Wednesday..

Our family would cut that size cake into at least 12 slices.  For most of us dessert doesn't need to be more than a few bites.  The Rodrigues kids, however, probably rarely get full.

I thought maybe we're skimpy, but I looked it up and standard sizes would be 12 to 16 slices.

To me that looks like a small cake, it's not a standard size cake.  The kids would get a larger portion from an individual Little Debbie cake.

My review: wow it was not that impressive. Why the Rods love the Olive Garden?

The Hunk probably fully appreciates the unlimited soup and breadsticks.  After my cousins group decided to try other restaurants (yay!), I've noticed that their lunch specials are cheaper than most restaurants, although many of their menu items are considerably more expensive.

Those mushrooms with your entree look good.

    Update on my cousin:

was admitted for 1 day nothing was found. They will go to a cardiologist for further tests. I think it was either a panic attack or was sick from overeating. I don’t think the doctors will be able to run tests because of cousin being stubborn.

my cousin is morbidly obese and refuses to even go outside. Can stay home for a week. Just lays in bed eating massive amounts of junk food. I told the father stop feeding them so much. I was ignored. Cousin ate 3 boxes of ice cream and drank 1 gallon of chocolate milk In barely a week. Yeahhhh. Obviously on top of everything else.

While in er at 10 am are a big sandwich, fries and a coke. I don’t think cousin was sick at all.

At this point I’m hoping that the cousin will be put into a group home. I don’t think the mom will be capable of taking care.

    The end.

What an awful situation.  That reminds me of the situations with many 600 # Life shows.  Families enable people into overeating, people develop food addiction, start losing their mobility until some are bedridden, and develop serious health problems.  I'm sorry you have to deal with that in your family.
