  1. Time to Change, for all you youngsters who haven't seen this fabulous piece of early 70s "art":

    You're welcome.

But this was, and always will be, my favorite Brady song.  (I can neither confirm nor deny that I have a copy on iTunes). Song starts about :57.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

  2. I forgot to mention that Britt/Brady looked like they just crawled out of the depression.    Grubby, tired,  and unemployed.

I love you so much right now Mu Shu!

  3. Jordan Jones is pretty good at hip-hop as well

I love seeing these videos! We should have a general dance thread where we can share favorite routines and young dancers. We have the small talk thread. Would people mind posting more choreographers/dance videos there? I'd love to see more!

Everyone, I took the suggestion (which was a good one) to have a separate thread for videos of DM dancers, and those DM adjacent, outside of the show.  Please put those links and discussion here.  However, if you want to discuss dance videos in general that have nothing to do with DM, please do that in the Small Talk thread.

TL; DR: Videos related to DM peeps--here; non-DM related videos: Small Talk.

Taking suggestions for a better thread title.  Submit your entires below.

  4. I'm only sticking with it so I can see Holly and Nia walk out (which is surely coming at the end of the season).  I'm torn because part of me wants to see Nia flip Abby the bird on her way out, but the other part of me wants her to keep it classy like she always has.

  5. I agree with most all of your post Mabinogia, except this last phrase:

because she seems to love fueling the drama, which is something I detest.

I suppose it's a matter of perception, but I get the feeling that Kaitlyn is NOT the one driving the drama, or at least not intentionally, and is totally over how stressful this season has been.  The producers are the ones creating the drama. Granted, her behavior hasn't necessarily helped, but the producers COULD have chosen not to show her going into the bedroom with Nick.  They COULD have prevented Shawn from going up to her room--twice!--if they wanted to.  They COULD have not allowed Nick into the competition.  But they didn't.  They are creating drama for the sake of the story.  Is Kaitlyn (perhaps unintentionally) complicit?  Yes, but I don't think it's because she wants to be.

  6. Here's a direct link to Sharleen's column, if the one above didn't work for you:

    http://www.flare.com/celebrity/entertainment/sharleen-joynt-on-the-bachelorette-episode-eight/

She speculates that Katilyn's "alone time" with Shawn and (possibly?) her later visit to Shawn and Ben's room were both illicit, as in, she snuck there without the producers' knowledge.  Then, when they found out about it, they were pissed and now insist on her being accompanied and miked 24/7, which is why she couldn't sleep with Nick without the cameras being there.  She basis this speculation on the fact that in her season she and JP couldn't get even 15 minutes alone without a producer there to make sure nothing "interesting" happened off-camera.  Now, she could be right, or it could be the show is just playing by different rules this time.  I suspect the latter: they've loosened up in an attempt to create more drama, and it's worked.

  7. Ok, everyone.  I admit I got a couple days behind in reading this forum (because . . . life) so let me address a couple things that have been going on for a while:

    1) Let's stop the discussion of whether Kaitlyn is or isn't a "skank," "whore," or "slut."  And CERTAINLY desist from using those words to describe her.  You can dissect and discuss her behavior if you wish, and you can disagree with it, but you can do so without slut-shaming.

    2) If you see someone breaking this rule or critiquing other posters' thoughts please hit the "report" button at the bottom of the post (the one that looks like a triangle with an arrow).  DON'T respond to it in the thread or make comments about the "tone" of the conversation.  Just report it and we'll take care of it.

    3) It seems to have mostly died out, but let's desist on the topic of single mothers in the 1950s.  It's way off topic.

    Thanks.

  8. I completely see the Gosling similarities in the face, but I've never understood the appeal of Gosling, who is goofy-looking to me, so I'm not getting Sean's appeal either.  But then I don't know if I've ever seen a guy on this show I'd actually be attracted to.  Going on the show in the first place means they're already starting pretty deep in a hole for me.

  9. Any word on when another season is coming? I think last season was on over the summer

I was looking into this the other day and I believe I read that it's returning in September.  Other sources just said "this Fall" so that's probably about right.

And I nominate "Shameless Fame Whores" as the title of this thread.

    You got it!

  10. If RS is sayng Britt and Brady are done, I'm going to assume the opposite especially when she's taking trips to Nashville.

In the column he says that the trips to Nashville and everything else that we've seen either on or off the show has been fake.  They're just carrying out their contract and making the relationship look like it's still on.

  11. Another reminder: avoid spoilers or potential spoilers about the outcome in this thread.  Even if something is in the news it doesn't make it fair game.  There are unspoiled people here.  Thanks.

  12. Seems clear that Kaitlyn had sex with Shawn in their 5 hour "chat" that happened in the days preceding Nick's date.   That is why Shawn was so over the top upset by her date with Nick that ended up in a "chat" on her couch.  A normal date (coming home after dinner) with Nick would not elicit such a strong reaction culminating with a talk to his producer and wanting to walk out.   Nor would Kaitlyn be so upset that she had sex only with Nick.  She could easily justify, to herself, one clandestine sexual encounter.

She is freaked out that they both will find out about the other.  Nick almost said it when he commented that their time together was intimate.  Shawn knew what that meant.   Looks like that may come to light next week.

I like Kaitlyn and this season, now that it is rolling.  It is a welcome reprieve from the usual dull and strained effort we get every season.

I loved catching the UnReal moments last night!

Yeah I agree.  And unlike some have suggested, I think it was blatantly obvious to the other men when Nick came back in the same clothes, had clearly not been home all night (I mean, how would they NOT know that?) and then said they "talked" on the couch.  They all knew what had happened, they just weren't allowed to say it with the cameras on to preserve the "drama."  But that led to the fantastic passive-aggressiveness of Joe (I think?) telling Nick that Andi had "talked on the couch" with Shawn too.  He was clearly looking for Nick's reaction.  And if they had not understood the subtext of the whole situation, why would Shawn have looked so incredibly stricken, like he was about to puke?  There's no doubt in my mind that they all knew he had slept with her.

And I hadn't thought about the Kaitlyn freakout as fear that the two guys she had slept with would come to blows, or it would ruin one or both relationship.  That makes a lot of sense.  They may have just edited it to look like she's rethinking what she did with Nick.

    Ick

    Love it.  Stealing it.

  13. There was a young (or just short) woman holding a camera who had the most horrified expression on her face when Nick was dancing.  It was a hilarious capture by the camera crew.

Yes, yes, yes!! I forgot to mention this.  It was like she intended to take their picture but then she saw their pathetic attempts at "dancing" and instead stood there with the most amazing WTF face I've seen in a good while.

  14. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the winner of the Emmy for outstanding reality TV editing.

I got so much joy out of watching that scene where Nick returns post-coitus and tells the guys about his date.  The passive-aggressiveness on both sides was tremendous. Joe with his "Well, you know, she also took 'extra time' with Shawn" and Nick throwing the "intimate, personal" part of their date in everyone's face, when everyone clearly knows what he means by "talking on the couch."  The subtext was amazing and rivaled anything I've ever seen happen between teenage girls.

I won't lie that I felt bad for Shawn in that scene though.  He looked positively grief-stricken.

As for the wake thing, all I can come up with is that when told to come up with date ideas for Dublin, some random producer said, "Hey, Dublin.  James Joyce.  Didn't he write Finnegan's Wake?  That's it . . . wakes are totally Irish."

  15. Let's move back closer to religious topics DIRECTLY related to the Duggars, the show, etc., please.  While I do like reading all your thoughts and experiences concerning religion, we don't want this to become a place for just any religious discussion.  Thanks.
