Sandro has to make things super complicated for himself.

Janus is a one trick pony.

Sabira is probably going to win.

Sad to see maxi go she seems nice.

And Abdul is missing from your list, which seems fitting... 😆

  2. Where I live, what they made would definitely be called spring rolls, and also egg rolls.  LOL

Sorry Maxy is gone, but she legit seemed like she was about to have a full panic attack, so maybe it's for the best.  I actually really like Noel, but he really needs to learn how to read the room and leave them be.  For some people a little distraction helps relieve stress, but Maxy is not one of those people.

Can someone explain to me how Zanab putting dirty towels in the bathtub is better? Do they not have a hamper?

I wondered the same.  I mean, I guess damp towels might be hard on the floor over time?  And at least the dirty towels in the tub are out of sight (depending on the tub)?  But then, somebody eventually is going to need the shower, and has to fish damp dirty towels out first?  Ewww.

When I'm in a hotel, I always put all damp towels in the shower when I leave, so it's easier for housekeeping.  Since Zanab travels so much, I wonder if that's where she picked up the habit?  But at home, it's super weird.  Hamper, or better yet, on a towel rack to dry so they don't get all mildewed.

like at her age her parents have never met a boyfriend?

I don't know how long Colleen has lived in Texas, but her parents are in Pennsylvania. I would have to be super serious with someone to drag them cross- country to meet my family.

just because multiple pitchers combined to throw the no hitter doesn’t mean it’s not a “real” no hitter,

Isn't that usually called a "combined no hitter", then?

Call me an oldster if you want, but I think it's an important distinction. When I heard "no hitter" this morning - I couldn't watch to the end - I assumed it was by one pitcher. No hitters, perfect games, shutouts... those have always been individual achievements.

I don't think it diminishes the Astros accomplishment to say it was a combined no hitter, because it was. In fact, it could be argued it's more impressive to have multiple pitchers excel and Dusty perfectly deploy them as needed, rather than having one guy who's hot at the right time.

  6. This game is boring me, so....

WTF is the deal with Marsh's hair? Is it wet? Is it oiled? Does he just badly need a shower?

I don't usually comment on the scraggly beards or ridiculous hairstyles, but that shit looks nasty.

The commentators on the game had me rolling my eyes. Somehow I'm supposed to be impressed and sympathetic for Houston having to overcome the adversity of being known cheaters.

Or maybe I think they got away with it completely and wonder if they keep cheating since nothing happened the first time. They got a season of no fans as a buffer and never really got the true cheater experience. None of their players were punished at all. They kept their title of World Series Champions. Basically a couple of management guys lost their jobs for a season during which there was almost no baseball anyway and the team was fined $5 million. Boo hoo. Much adversity. How they must struggle to overcome such stiff penalties.

All of this. They seem to think winning is going to prove that they would have won anyway. All it makes me think is they've probably gotten better at it...

  8. The Cardinals are in the market for coaches.  In addition to Skip Schumaker (bench) leaving the Cards to manage the Marlins, Jeff Albert (hitting) and Mike Maddux (pitching) have stepped down.  Bryan Eversgerd (bullpen) is getting "reassigned".

    Jeez...

  9. Serious happy dancing happening right now in my house.  (Less happy that we're losing bench coach Skip Schumaker to the Marlins, but win some, lose some.)  It will be interesting to hear what Waino's contract looks like for 2023.

Phillies vs. Astros. How will Fox sell that series?

They could successfully sell it as "plucky underdogs versus World Series cheaters". But TPTB at MLB and in the media clearly want us to forget that ever happened.

Anyone who saw this event could think our station sanctions it

I really do feel this is a stretch. I realize a station logo has higher visibility, but I would never assume that because someone was wearing a logo shirt, their actions were the official position of the station. At worse, I would think they have a misbehaving employee, but it's equally possible it's a former employee, or a spouse, or a person who got the shirt in some manner and wears it to look important or deliberately stir up trouble.

In this case, you believe you know who it is, but I don't think Joe Public is going to make this connection.

What about Waino, is he coming back?

I don't know. Before the season, he said it was "almost certainly" his last season, but setting the battery record with Yadi and getting 200 wins would make the decision a lot easier. He's sitting at 195. Other comments make it seem like he's done (talking Yadi into coming back for 2022 because he "couldn't do it without him", getting irritated with a reporter saying he can't get into the HOF without 200, that if you tell people you're retiring it seems like a lot of hassle). Listening to him on the R2C2 podcast before the season, it sounded like he was already making moves for his post-retirement career.

So, a month ago, I was sure this was it. But then he had the dead arm and ended up with his first losing season ever. I honestly don't know if that makes him more or less likely to call it quits. For a huge competitor like he is, I'm sure he doesn't want it all to end that way. Of course, it depends on the front office as well, and what they might offer. I think there's 0% chance he pitches anywhere else.

Selfishly, I hope he comes back. I think the team and pitching staff need continuity and leadership with Yadi leaving. He's such a team guy... if he says he's good for another year, I would absolutely trust that he wouldn't come back unless he can win.

He's maybe my favorite athlete of all time, so I hate to see his career end with a whimper.

  15. Sad end to the Cardinals season, but I was glad to see both Yadi and Albert hit on their last ABs. It's going to be incredibly weird to not see Yadi behind the plate next year.

    So.... go, Mets!

  16. I can't get too arsed about the pronunciation. After all, there are a lot of words - English words - that they pronounce differently than Americans do. Here in the States, we have lots of Spanish words that are integrated into English that we pronounce "wrong". Rodeeeoh, not rodayoh, for example.

  18. I never make serious predictions, as it's impossible for me to separate my heart from my head. As a Cardinals fan, the expectation is that we'll win the World Series every year. Add in some special retirement-year devil magic, and...

My expectation is that STL will beat the Yankees in six, after sending off the Braves and the Mets. The Yankees will advance past Cleveland and the Mariners.

And I will be wrong about 50% of this. LOL

  20. Cardinals clinched the division tonight. They limped across the line... the last couple of weeks have been rough. Goldschmidt's and Arenado's bats have gone quiet, Wainwright has been battered, Monty has cooled off from his hot start since the trade.

    But tonight, we celebrate!

Obvious question . . . would Judge get benched while in Toronto? I'm assuming the Yankees are home this weekend since the Mets will be in Atlanta. They got the division and bye on lock, so why not give him shots at 61 and 62 at home?

No way. What if they bench him, and in the end he doesn't make it? That would be awful.

I did not know he could sing!!!

I always longed for Jeremy Jordan to get the part, but I know he will do an excellent job.

JB is a prolific musical theater actor, winning an Olivier Award for his role in Stephen Sondheim's Company. For your viewing pleasure, JB's audition for The London production of The Last Five Years. I have watched this an embarrassing number of times.

The irony is that Jeremy Jordan did get cast in the movie version of The Last Five Years. They do kind of share a vibe.
