  1. I hope Lim and Melendez work things out too, not sure if they will. As for Melendez and Claire, I completely agree! For one thing, I've never been a fan of even the idea of them together. And especially now that Melendez and Lim just broke up, I think it wouldn't make sense. It sure seems like Melendez would get back together with Lim if she was willing. Melendez made the comment that he was glad that their relationship mattered. If he quickly jumps into another relationship, to me that counteracts what he said. I had a feeling it was going to be Melendez coming to check on Claire, but I was hoping it would be someone else (just so there isn't any chance of drama with the two of them)
  2. Yes, she did mention applying for a chief of surgery position at another hospital. It doesn't seem like that would happen - I don't think Christina Chang would want to leave the show.
  3. I'm curious to see if Lim and Melendez stay broken up. It may be nothing, but on The Good Doctor Instagram account, there was a photo posted of Lim and Melendez hugging. It was posted about a month ago and as far as I can tell, that scene has not been in an episode. They captioned the photo "A truly precious moment". I kind of get the feeling they will figure out a way to make it work. I like the two of them together, so I'm definitely looking at their relationship with that bias. From the start they admitted being a little scared after both being in serious long term relationships. They haven't been together all that long, but in my opinion if you say you love each other, it's a serious relationship. I guess I don't see them giving up so quickly on what seems to be a really good thing. I won't be surprised if they take a break only to realize they want to find a way to make it work.
  4. I was wondering the same thing when the episode aired! It seems like quite a stretch for him to jump to president without being Chief of Surgery (or another higher position) first. Also, based on an interview with show runner David Shore, I believe they will be exploring the new dynamic between Lim and Melendez with her as his superior. I doubt Andrews is going anywhere after reading the interview.
  5. According to David Shore (writer/producer), that has technically not been decided yet. He was interviewed about it: How do you expect this relationship to affect their dynamic going forward now that she’s chief? I think it absolutely will affect it, and that’s what we’re going to have to explore. As they say in that scene, either one of them resigns or they break up. Or, the third choice, which they don’t mention in that scene, is that they go back to lying to everybody. Choices have to be made and certainly, certainly it’s going to affect their relationship. That’s where the fun happens.
  6. It was definitely wrapped up much more nicely than I expected. They did get renewed for Season 3 earlier than some shows, but I'm pretty sure that by the time they were renewed they were about to start filming the finale. I think it would be difficult to decide whether or not to have a cliff hanger/how much to leave unfinished before you know the fate of the show.
  7. I've seen on here and other places that Claire has better chemistry with both Melendez and Shaun. I can't remember where I first saw this, but someone pointed out that Claire has good chemistry with everybody. I tend to agree with that. Antonia Thomas is a great actress and I think the way she portrays Claire is that she can connect with anyone. Claire is caring and understanding and I think that can come off as chemistry, not just her personality. I have never seen Claire as a romantic interest for Shaun. She definitely understands him and is a wonderful friend to him, but I think that's all it should be. As far as Claire and Melendez, I've never liked the idea of them together because it just felt inappropriate since he's her superior at work. I do hope they introduce another romantic interest for her next season, she deserves it.
  8. I wonder if Lim will talk with Andrews/Aoki about her relationship with Melendez when she accepts the chief of surgery position. She could argue that they should be able to continue seeing one another because they were together before she was promoted. I work at a school where our headmaster is the boss of his wife, a teacher. Is that not possible in a hospital as well? As I've said before, I think Lim and Melendez are a good fit for one another. They are mature in how they interact and how they deal with conflict, they push one another in a good way. I hope they can find a way to continue. That being said, I think the "At Last" scene went a little too far. Sure, announce your relationship with a kiss, but kiss for that long? Definitely a little awkward.
  9. I agree that it looks like the bar fight doesn't seriously injure Shaun, he just goes with the guy to the ER. I'm wondering if the scene with him in the hospital bed will end up being the cliff hanger for the end of the episode. Maybe Shaun continues to fall apart and somehow ends up in the hospital?

  11. I thought the fact that she decided that they should tell Andrews was a sign that she took what her friend said to heart. I got the feeling that she was hesitant to make their relationship public because she wasn't confident in their relationship - and was being fearful that it wouldn't work out. When she decided to talk with Andrews, it showed me that she's ready to be serious about her relationship with Melendez and give it a full, honest chance at going somewhere.
  12. Another thing I noticed during the episode was Lim somewhat casually mentioning that she does want to have children. And that she has no plan to stop riding her motorcycle if/when she does have a child. I've said it before, but I love how strong of a character Lim is. She won't back down/change her ways, she's confident in who she is.
  13. I loved that part too! Melendez is a terrible liar 😃 It will be interesting to see Andrews reaction to finding out about Lim and Melendez. Lim mentioned rules about coworkers dating, but she and Melendez never even brought that up when they were deciding what to do. I could be totally wrong on this, but I wouldn't think Han could fire Shaun for having an outburst and needing to be escorted from his office. Yes, some sort of disciplinary action clearly needs to be taken, but can he really fire him? As many have said, obviously, Shaun needs to be involving a lawyer or someone to help since he is being discriminated against. I'm definitely frustrated that no one has mentioned this at all.
  14. If I remember correctly, he asked for the music to be turned on, Shaun didn't say anything but he was affected by it. Didn't one of the other surgeon's say something to Han when they realized Shaun wasn't happy wit it? I thought the conversation went something like: "The music is distracting Shaun" and then Han said "I find a quiet operating room distracting". And Han basically refused to turn off the music. It sure seemed like Han came in knowing that the music would bother Shaun and did it just to see what would happen.
  15. That's exactly what I have been thinking. I'm hoping we'll see some of these things addressed next season. I'm having trouble thinking of specific examples, but Melendez, Lim, and the other residents have already made accommodations for Shaun as they've learned how he best functions.
  16. I agree that it's all being brought up for the sake of drama, but I guess it still makes sense that it would be brought up even if no one ends up losing their license. I would guess that it's standard procedure to have the hospital under review after a quarantine situation where people died. I think we may still have the drama of the doctors having to argue their case and the cliff hanger being just waiting to hear the final decision. I doubt anyone will lose their license, just possible suspensions. All 3 doctors are now main characters on the show, I don't see any of them being written out.
  17. It will definitely be interesting to see how that plays out. Lim mentioned that there are rules against them seeing each other. I would guess maybe they wouldn't be allowed to be in surgeries together? From the description, it sounds like they make the choice to go public with their relationship. I guess they are willing to handle whatever the consequences may be. I feel like we've hardly gotten to see anything of their relationship, so I hope it's not over as quickly as it began. I like the way they stand up to one another and that they've had to work some things out. It feels more realistic (as much as a TV relationship can be realistic).
  18. We've had basically no mention of this since "Aftermath" (episode 12). Dr. Andrews mentioned it briefly in episode 13. I was definitely expecting it to be addressed before the last 2 episodes of the season. The descriptions of the next 2 episodes don't mention the medical board review, but I'm assuming it will come up in one of the episodes. As far as Shaun losing his license, it seems unlikely. Yes, he had a melt down, but he also got up fairly quickly and then proceeded soon after to successfully perform his first ever emergency c-section and then save the baby. Did his meltdown ultimately make that big of a difference in patient care?
  19. Interesting. Makes sense that he would have a say in how many episodes he was willing to do. I know filming TV shows is a huge time commitment - especially when he is in so much of each episode, so I understand wanting a relatively shorter season. I have a feeling that we'll be left with somewhat of a cliffhanger at the end of episode 17 that will lead in to the fight. It seems like in tonight's episode, Shaun's frustration level is rising. It's definitely a possibility that the stuff with Dr. Han combined with the medical board puts him close to a breaking point.
  20. “Trampoline” – As a barroom fight sends Dr. Shaun Murphy to seek treatment at St. Bonaventure’s, Dr. Alex Park and Dr. Audrey Lim disagree over an elderly woman’s post-operative symptoms. Meanwhile, Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Lim make their romance public, and Dr. Aaron Glassman continues to pursue a relationship with a good friend, on the season finale of “The Good Doctor,” MONDAY, MARCH 11 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. Sheila Kelly is back as Debbie in this episode. I can't believe we're so close to the season finale. It's going to be a long break between seasons! I hope that they up the number of episodes for season 3. ABC has definitely had shows that had at least 20 (or more) episodes per season. It seems like the show has been successful enough to warrant a few more episodes per season. Also, no mention of the medical board review. They made it seem like such a big deal in "Aftermath", we've barely heard it mentioned since then. I wonder if it will come up tonight too. Some episode photos were released for episode 17 today too: https://www.disneyabcpress.com/abc/shows/thegooddoctor/episodes/breakdown-1/
  21. You're welcome. Happy to help. Yes, that was Melendez's reasoning for not wanting to look at the pathology report.
  22. "It doesn't matter, because you can't put the tumor back". I think it frustrated Melendez at first since he had to make a tough decision in surgery. I think by the end of the episode he agreed with the patient since he didn't even want to look at the pathology report.
  23. That's exactly what I was thinking. Shaun has proven that he is valuable as a surgeon, not just for being smart (which is kind of what it seemed like Dr. Han was saying). If Shaun wasn't in surgery with Han, Lim, and Brown, the baby would have died. He's proven many times that he makes a difference in the OR. I get that this is just TV, but I was definitely frustrated with Han coming in and basically pulling Shaun off the surgical team after observing him for maybe 2-3 days.
  24. She'll definitely be in episode 16: Believe. She's listed as one of the guest stars in the press release from ABC. I think she's good for Glassman, so I hope we keep seeing her.
  25. I hadn't seen anything about the season finale yet, where did you find that info? I assumed that the medical board review would be saved for the finale - perfect set up for another cliff hanger ending. I have a feeling we'll be waiting until Season 3 to hear the fates of Murphy, Melendez, and Lim.
