I'm old enough to know that song, though at first I was thinking Teddy got the title wrong, one of those misheard lyrics things. I know I used to think it was Judy in the Skies.

That's what I thought they were saying.  I don't think I've ever heard that song. I thought it was made up for the episode.

I think the drawback for me was they were in this cool lodge for xmas, and it didn't really amount to much. I would have liked to see Bob cooking. There just wasn't too much going on for having the plot be just the family.

    Same

It would've been cool if the belchers had been able to have a good Christmas in thst cabin.

I'm kind of watching the latest season, but it's really not interesting to me.  I just stumbled across episode one of the new season when Mallory's back and it's just reminding me of why I miss her.  The episode is also reminding me of the many reasons I hate Lou.  Also, I quite like the actor who plays the new Katie, but there's such a disconnect between the two characters/actors, that it's as if they just dropped a completely new "oh, look, this is your long lost cousin from Prince Edward Island that no-one had ever heard of come to live with us.  And by the way, Katie died."

I suppose I'll watch til the end of the series just because, but I hope to god they put us and it out of our misery and end things.

I'll probably watch the series to the end too because I'm a bit of a completionist. Between seasons I miss the characters and the show but then I watch the latest season and it's not the same. It's not as good and I get bored.

I do miss Mallory. She was one of those characters thst always said what needed to be said or would say what other characters wouldn't.

Amy has kinda aged out so they need a young character to carry it on. For a while that was Georgie. Katie could fill that role too.

And I'm with you on Lou. The best she's ever been is tolerable. I've never truly liked the character.

This show really does need to wrap it up but I guess as long as it keeps getting ratings, they'll keep renewing it.

Anyone seen the new eps yet? I tend to have it on in the background as it has run it's course but something about it doesn't make me want to say goodbye yet!!

I haven't yet. I feel the same as you. I think I'm gonna go back and start in season 1 again. Relive the good old days of the show.

Anybody watching season 16 in the US as it's airing on UPTV?  (Sunday afternoons at 4pm PST.)

Did not know that. Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it.

I cut cable a few years ago so I'm going to look for a streamer that has it. I might have to do a free trial. That's what I've done in the past. Not gonna wait around for Netflix bc they won't have it for a long time.

Netflix finally got Season 15 episodes uploaded on their server. I’m rewatching from Season 13… because I don’t want to repeat too long history watch. It says a lot that they kept old title opening with some new updates.

At this point I don't remember if I've watched season 15. I guess I'll have to go look. I think maybe I have.

Don't get me wrong, I love this show but they really need to wind it down. The only way I could see it going on is to move focus to the younger characters like Georgie and Katie. But I think Georgie may be gone for good.

With the way everything turned out, the best time to end the series would have been last year. Adam graduated high school, Erica got pregnant, it's the last appearance of Murray. There was nothing else the show had to do after that. It makes me wonder why ABC even bothered bringing the show back if they were going to dump it like this.

Yeah I think everyone here was saying pretty much the same thing last season. Why not end it when Adam graduates. It's a natural place to end. And yeah, if you're gonna dump it lime this then what's the purpose of another season.

How arrogant do you have to be to NOT write a series finale for the end of your 10th season? "Oh, we were so surprised that we got canceled." Pffffffft

I agree. They should've had a finale prepared. If they got renewed for an 11th season (unlikely) then deal with that. But how could they not see this coming?

Parts of this episode felt kinda like the old Goldbergs from earlier seasons. However the ending felt very tacked on.

As long as we're being pedantic, if Bob's mother was born in 1941, that would make her 82-83 now. My mother was born in 1949 and will be 74 this month. I was born in 1974 when she was 25; I'm 48 and the oldest of my mother's three daughters. How old are we thinking Bob and Linda are? I certainly don't see them as any older than 50, and that would mean Linda had Gene and Louise in her 40s.

It's a little difficult to pin down ages seeing as how these characters haven't aged since 2011.

I bet a good chunk of the season's budget went to clearing "Radio Gaga." Worth it.

Since the original recording wasn't used would it cost nearly as much? It's basically a remake.

  10. I feel bad for Bob. He obviously loves his family and tries so hard but when it comes to himself he aims so low.

A pair of aviators bc he wants to look cool. But he's so down on himself that he doesn't think he can do justice to what are probably a pair of $7 sunglasses. He ends up with a pair of socks and then doesn't even get those so that Linda can get the sewing machine.

I don't think Bob's family realizes how much he forgoes things for himself so that he can make his family happy.

I'm just scared that Tammy would try to sabotage it out of jealousy.

      Reveal spoiler

I guess this is more of a Family Guy spoiler, but there's going to be a crossover between them, Bob's Burgers, and The Simpsons. I love the joke at the end, especially with the way Seth McFarlane always seems to dump on Bob's Burgers. Also, it's weird seeing Bob with teeth.

I don't think Sage would abide Tammy and her shenanigans.

  12. How many times has Bob told Teddy that his last name isn't burger? I did like their song tho.

Bob telling Teddy he probably didn't want a card that said The Handy. This show walks right up to the line sometimes. I knew a girl in high school called the handy. I also knew a girl in college called two fingers. I don't think they knew about their nicknames.

  13. Oooooh I miss Lainey so much. I wish she had more to do in this episode. I really wish they'd brought her back when they canceled Schooled. This show needs her. Erica has no girlfriends to play off of. It's become too insular with fewer and fewer side characters.

I wonder if Schooled is on Hulu. I should watch it again. I really liked it.

I assume that the real world reason is that they don't want to have to animate a busy restaurant.

Probably a lotta truth to that.

tv-wise, there's just more to mine from a struggling restaurant. Bob is going to get into wacky hijinks if Mr. Fishoeder offers to waive the rent.

They even did an episode where they were successful, and it was a disaster.

tbh, I don't think Bob is particularly unhappy. I'm sure they'd rather not fret about rent, but Bob isn't really beholden to anyone when he's in the restaurant. The burger of the day is completely his choice. His abilities are validated consistently. The kids are weird but happy. Linda is a handful, but she's always singing, and there's no doubt she loves him every day.

Agree. A successful restaurant probably wouldn't be as interesting. Also since they're rarely busy it enables them to close the restaurant to go on adventures as a family.

I think Bob and his family are pretty content. They've got each other and they like each other. That's more important than success. Especially success alone. Compare Bob to Jimmy. Jimmy's restaurant is more successful but he doesn't have anyone to share that success with. He spends his time and effort being successful in business but has nothing left emotionally or relationally to give to J Jr. or the twins.

  15. Barry wearing a suit made of lunch meat on stage in front of a bunch of kids while being attacked by a voracious dog had the potential to be very funny. The whole setup was there. And then they just slammed on the brakes.

And why was Erica saying sorry to Bev? She was overbearing as she always is and should just butt out however for some reason the other characters believe that Bev is right and they're in the wrong.

    Whatever with this show.

  16. Checking back in to see if there have been any answers given on this show. I didn't have the patience to stick with it.

Did we ever get any idea of what happened to these passengers? Why were they missing for several years? Why did they not age? Did the pilot who flew off into the dark lightning ever return? Did he have any answers? Any clue as to why this happened at all?
