  1. It seems just to be Joe this morning with Kasie and John Heilemann presumably as back ups when he gets bored.
  2. It was my post that mentioned complacency and I don’t know why it was deleted. The issue was whether everything would work out ok and the system would work in the end. It was a valid question and worth discussing but Joe didn’t think so. Today’s guests from a MJ tweet. Updated Mon. guest list: John Heilemann, Eddie Glaude Jr., Kasie Hunt, Jon Meacham, Adm. James Stavridis, Mark Leibovich, Kristen Welker, Robert Costa, Elle Reeve, Gene Rossi, Yamiche Alcindor, Margaret Carlson, Lee Gelernt and more
  3. Ha! I think she’s spoken more in this segment than in the whole show yesterday though.
  4. So someone makes a good point and tries to have an interesting conversation and Joe waylaid with his Trump is too thick to sit down line. He is as borish as Giuliani.
  5. Maybe it’s August but while there is no shortage of news, it seems they are bored with the news, indignation, uproar and nothing changes. Rince and repeat every week for the last year. There was a glimmer of an interesting segment on the difference between traditional crimes and crimes carried out in full view on internet/SM but they did it v superficially. When I first started listening to MJ a year ago, it seemed a revelation. We didn’t have anything in the UK that covers politics in this depth or investigative journalists who appear to challenge politicians and the perceived political wisdom. I don’t see the video but it’s always obvious when they are in separate studios and it seems to be more the norm in 2018 than in 2017. The show is disjointed and the interviews always unsatisfactory and perfunctory. Joe has become more attention seeking and his constant reliving of his greatest hits have become annoying, even though I had to look him up to know who he was. He’s so easily bored and his self centredness means everything is done to Joe’s level of superficiality. The show is better when he’s not there. Mika is so much better when she’s on her own. Otherwise she is is dialling it in and has been left with women’s issues in a 1990s sort of way. I’m listening to her women in politics segment now. She is the Stepford Wife in the MSNBC line up of sassy women. She also seems to be doing more one word/noise interjections than before. She is audibly sighing in this interview. There is v little energy in her voice now. Willie seemed to be the stabilising anchor but oh so bland .... until I watched the Tucker/Geist video. I’m not sure I’ll listen to Willie in same way in the future. Having said all that, I still enjoy to listening and it gives me a perspective on US culture. And the characters are more interesting than in the UK.
  6. I’ve missed most of the show and would make a **** recapper. I agree about the Michael Cohen syndrome Chloesmom. I only starting listening a year ago but it’s as though they are trying to shadow the WH advisers. Mika has an issue with Ivanka and SHS. So handed to Stephanie Ruhle early? And being all chummy chummy? It makes a change. It was almost as if they were fed up of doing the show and keen to finish it.
  7. Millennium. I’m having a cuppa right now! I’ve seen your theory about the midterms elsewhere. It seems v plausible now. What frustrates me about MJ is the limitations of their thinking. They seem to accept things at face value despite all the mounting evidence to the contrary.
  8. Hi. I’ve been chuckling at this thread for a while so can I join in. I’m a Brit taking refuge from Brexit and listening to MSNBC via Tune In. I don’t see the outfits or the posing for camera so thank you for adding colour to my listening. This morning It seems to be Mika and Willie. Not sure what’s happened to Joe as I missed the opening. Mika is always better without Joe. She seems more confident somehow.
