  1. Well, I watched about 25 minutes.  Too loud, can hear any points of view (although I don't want to hear MM).  Just to chopped up - talk for 5 minutes, commercial for 5 minutes.

So people cared about MM's daddy being married 2x? mmm, ok .

I doubt it - so long ago.  Although the cheating aspect may have played into it.

Normally I'd agree with you, but I actually thought that dress was quite cute & youthful on her.

It was a very fresh looking dress, and it worked for the more casual atmosphere of Aspen.

It's a pretty dress, but I'm still of the opinion that it was too young for her.  I couldn't tell what the length was, but I hope it was below the knee.

As stated by other posters, JP is gonna milk this as much as possible. Her sole purpose for going on the show was to wreck havoc and play the victim of the so-called horrible liberals at ABC. She would’ve preferred the “take down” of Joy but jumped on the opportunity to “take down” Whoopi instead (I’m putting it in parentheses for a reason). She also claimed that what happened between her and Whoopi helped her book sales. She had a very specific purpose for going on the show and her viewers are eating it up. I can’t say this enough - I’m really glad Joy wasn’t there.

Me, too!  She didn't come to calmly discuss anything.  I suppose they played into her hands, but I too would have gone ballistic at the "murdering children" remark.

Alex Witt is also fond of the "cold shoulder" look, which is really inappropriate, both for the show and her age, in general.

And did you check what Andrea Mitchell was wearing the other day when she interviewed Dan Coats?  Seriously?

Maybe I'm old-fashioned but cleavage on newswomen diminishes their seriousness, in my opinion.  Just as it would with any male anchor, sitting there with his shirt opened to his navel, or a weatherman turning around and showing his butt-crack.  But the men don't do that, which infuriates me when the women do.  I realize this may not be a popular opinion - and I most assuredly do not wish to start an argument

Well, your opinion is popular with me!  Mary Richards wouldn't dress that way!

The eye gravitates to the cleavage.  What's wrong with a blazer?  I prefer separates to dresses, too.  So there!

    3 hours ago, meowmommy said:

What bothers me even more than cleavage is the current trend of women wearing sleeveless tops/dresses.  It's probably because I'm of a certain age when women just did not dress that way for work.  It just seems very unprofessional, especially compared to the men still there in their suits and ties.

Absolutely, although I don't like the cleavage.  Oh, and skirts at mid-thigh & skin tight, bare legs.  You aren't there to be sexy.  You are there to report the news!

BTW - did anyone see a recent "Inside Edition" where they showed women in "work appropriate" clothing?  I was appalled.  NO - they weren't work appropriate!

I'd put Sara on the better half of The View's long list of co-hosts and although the past few months she annoyed me with her attempts to cater to McCain (which I know was really just her trying to help ABC because those screaming tantrums Meh-gun delivers are not a good thing for this show or the network), I wish her well.

I quite liked her, for the most part.  I wonder if she asked to go.  I know, I would!

I feel like the other two departures make it more likely rather than less. Better to start clean that drag someone on for another year they'll eventually fire. I wouldn't be surprised if ABC was dumb enough to give her a second season though--for the same reason she was hired, nepotism--but I'm going to hold out hope especially since even Whoopi should be done with her after this. Whoopi, Joy, and Sunny should go to the executives and take out the trash as a team.

Who is MM popular with?  I haven't heard that anyone likes her, but then I don't hang out with the Fox viewers.  Maybe they're waiting for her father to die.

I was watching a Facebook live feed during this and EVERYONE was swooning over Maggie's dress.  Ladies, that was not Boho, it was sparkly and modern.  And frankly unflattering.

I've seen worse, but I know what you're saying.  How was the dress/theme "boho"?

Overall, this whole new season is REALLY disappointing.  Why are they messing with the format?

Every adult on TV knows their IQ score.  To the best of my memory I have never taken an actual IQ test; if I have, no one told me my score.  Am I the only adult in existence for whom this is true?

We were given an IQ test in grade 4.  Not sure they do this in school any more.  But, if you watch a lot of daytime TV, your IQ is lowered several points per episode.

Surprised to read that Sara is leaving. I first "met" her when she was on with Kathie Lee and Hoda, and I think her personality makes her a better fit for GMA than The View.  I was never a fan of Paula's so not sorry to see her gone from The View for good.

I don't think I've watched The View at all this month. I still skim over these threads, though, and nothing I've read has convinced me it's time to start watching again. I just really need a break from things in the news, and watching people fight about the things in the news.   I'm sure I'll at least tune in a few times in September to check out the new panel.

I, too, just skim over the threads, haven't really watched since Jed left, except for pieces here & there. I don't mind the political discussion that much, but MM is not a good fit, in general.  I do think that any political discussion in this day & age is going to get nasty.

Jeanine Pirro accused the View of being fascists on her show last night.  So, she is going to milk this all the way to the bank. It is disgusting.

And then her sister-in-law, Ashley, couldn't finish the interview because she was so disappointed she lost?  Just bizarre.

Didn't see this.  I turned if off as soon as the winner was announced.  The one (Maggie?) who got 20 for overall experience is going to be ticked.  Will they all still be chums?

Some comments on FB liked the new format for its positivity.  No strangers being bitchy!  Hello!  That's why the old format was fun!  Just goes to show:  Positive = BORING.

I'm surprised they chose this episode as their first episode as it was practically a caricature of why this "friends/family" format is such a terrible idea.  There is not much diversity in the weddings at all.  Having them be friends increases the chances that they're of similar ages/races/sexuality/religion/socio-economic status...etc.

Absolutely!  Hard pressed to choose a "winner" as they were so similar.

.. ya but, what part of "she won't leave Miami & her boyfriend who runs a fancy hotel" don't people understand??!!

She could do a couple times a week.  I would go for that.  I'd like to see a smaller panel, anyway.  Five is too many.

  13. OMG.  Just watched it.  So boring!  Are all of the episodes going to be 2 hours?  The commercials were so long, I forgot what I was watching.  I didn't like the detailed background.  I just want to see the weddings.  Ashley - didn't like the red lipstick (picky, picky).  Lexi - I had a hard time getting past her large, overly white teeth & too tight clothes & too small church for the number of people.  Kat - I liked her dress.  The last girl (forgot her name, outdoor, winter wedding) - yawn.  Really tacky weddings, everyone seemed ecstatic over the mac and cheese.  Buffets and standard wedding food, whatever.  Anyway, I think the right couple won - their nuptials seemed the least offensive.

I liked her better before her mat leave.  She seemed more opinionated and informed.

If they don't give the slot to Ana, then they are fricking crazy.  She's intelligent, extremely well-spoken, has a terrific sense of humor, is well-informed, articulates her thoughts in measured tones, and seems to get along with everyone.  And this is coming from a Democrat.  Even when I don't necessarily agree with her viewpoints, I enjoy listening to her explain them.  And you know what?  I've never heard her screech to be heard.  At least not in 'only dogs can hear' tones.

Please, please, let's see Ana as a regular, or at least regular part-timer.  She makes me laugh every time she's on.

I don't watch GMA, but Michael Strahan and Sara will work great together. That's a perfect choice on ABC's part. Both of them are nice, likable, down-to-earth people. No drama or tension for Sara like on The View or Michael like with Kelly Ripa.

Can't stand Michael Strahan, but whatever...   Sara is likeable.

I'm so bummed about the new format.  I don't want 4 people who know each other

I can't see how this would work on an ongoing basis.  You would really have to search for 4 people who know each other, getting married around the same time!  I'd prefer strangers, also.

Maybe don't invite two women who resent and dislike each other to your dress appointment? Either her "godmother" offered to pay for the dress without strings attached or she didn't. If paying for it means she feels she has the right to stomp all over the appointment, then it's not a gift and you should refuse it.

Oh, but if godmother wasn't there, how would she afford a $5K dress?  I was hoping they would show the wedding.  I wanted to see if her father walked her down the aisle.
