. I believe at this point they are continuing for the money provided by TLC and if the show stopped things would change.

I hope Amy's planning for this eventually.

The story lines will dry up soon enough and the show will be canceled or even more likely Tammy will drop dead and .... The End.

  2. The school was incredibly accommodating to his weight.

Others brought him and the students items as needed while he sat and he was allowed to put chairs in the hall at 10' or so intervals so that he could rest. I've got to believe there are very few teachers of his size anywhere. As mentioned upthread, he would be of little help in a classroom emergency. I wish him well though.

  3. I think Tarek can't emphasize enough that this year-long train wreck of a flip skirted total financial disaster only because the market was hot and inventory was low.

I assume it will find a buyer but for me the bedroom whose only view was the dark underside of the suspended driveway, and the lack of space for a kitchen or dining room table would be a deal-killer for me. I don't like gloomy, viewless rooms and I don't want to eat every meal off a bar stool.

I don't like the stove alcove.

Buyer is right the pool tile mixture looks odd.

The alcove was a big mistake. Not only did it leave only 12" of counter on each side of the stove but it turned the counter space to the left and right of the alcove into dead space for cooking use.

A backyard filled with plain white concrete and no landscape immediately around the pool deck to brighten it up, a pool with white plaster creating pale blue water and then she chose white pool tile. So bland.

But that sequence with Jeff could have been filmed at any time.

That could be a real possibility. It's hard to imagine otherwise why someone would give up their spot in a reward challenge in order to (presumably) explore a simple bench for an advantage and then not at least look under it.

I don’t think it’s any great loss if she never speaks to the cast again.

The other players probably feel the same as you.

After reading several exit interviews it's pretty clear Sydney is quite enraptured with Sydney. I half expected her to knight herself and kiss her own hand.

    Australian Survivor

I hear so much positive chatter about Survivor Australia but have no idea where to find it. Full episodes are not available on YouTube.

Can you share what cable channel in the U.S. carries it?

The upper cabinets are way too high.

It bothered me that they not only wouldn't admit their error on the height of the cabinets but vowed to do the same thing on the next flip.

I'm 5'-4" tall. Many people my height might be able to just reach that microwave but what about the high programing buttons or my problem - trying to lift a heavy casserole dish in or out of such a high spot?

She reminded me of 60/70s actress Rita Tushingham.

I always thought she was the strangest casting choice to play the love child of Dr. Zhivago and Lara in the movie Dr. Zhivago.

Tonight's new episode "Pilots and Permits and Babies, Oh My!" with two pilots flipping a house, are almost more clueless than the couple doing the house with the laundromat parking lot to enter the garage.    The contractor doesn't get permits, and an inspector dropped in and stopped work on everything.    The couple get a contractor that doesn't get permits, or have a solid bid, or drawings.

I've lived my entire 67 years in Southern California so I'm well aware of our high real estate prices but even my jaw dropped that someone, anyone, was willing to pay almost $900,000 for a 600+ sq. ft. house that didn't even have a garage. I noticed too that the contractor was using concrete blocks behind his tires to keep his truck from rolling down that steep driveway.

They really lucked out - it had the potential to be a major flop and financial loss - but the crazy market out here saved them.

The Modesto guy seemed very selfish. Everything was about what he wanted. Does he spend any time with his family or is it all to do with his business, his projects, his golf, his pool table.

His wife was very attractive and I found myself wondering if she was also a bit of a trophy for him.

  12. , "Home Over Improvement"

I thought the original house color was much warmer and unlike the new white paint it helped the house stand out from all the plain concrete walks, pads and driveway.

But what I thought was a huge mistake was completely removing all the existing palms and lush landscape in the front. A trim would have sufficed. Now all they have is a bland, under-planted area that draws attention to a very Plain Jane looking curb view.

No excuse for the dead lawn in the backyard. Gardeners are not in short supply in L.A.

You'd think after 41 freaking seasons people would learn how to pack for Survivor. I'm sorry but in addition to the dictionary definition of an Epic Fail, Tiffany would have chosen something other than saggy boy shorts ...

Evvie's broad, horizontal-striped rainbow shorts with the contrasting crotch fabric that looked like a cod piece wasn't doing her any favors either.

Naples, FL. How fake looking is this woman?

There wasn't a film frame she wasn't posing in. The extra long lashes, hot pants, legs far apart, boob job, bling talk and what I'm pretty sure is a bad blond wig. She was really going for her "DeMille" moment.

The woman had to be around 50 yet she acted, talked and expressed herself like a teen.

My Dremel Micro rotary tool actually has a warning on the box that it is not designed for dental use. Which means someone, somewhere , must have taken a DIY approach to dentistry and complained about the result!

Why? So they can prove, more than they already do, that women must change while men are allowed to remain how they are? I think too many women accused of having a vocal fry don't, they just have a somewhat deeper, scratchy voice.

People on radio and TV news often take vocal coaching to make their speech more pleasant. I stopped watching this show because of her vocal fry and I only watch Christina On the Coast using Closed Captioning for the same reason.  I'm not sure why vocal fry is so much more common now - even the guy on Vacation House Rules has it - but it can be a big enough irritant to make people stop watching a show that would normally appeal to them.

NO WAY would I have installed that hideous crap even if it was free! 😱🤣

With carpet that revolting to the eye it made me wonder what the previous owner's furniture and décor must have looked like.

It made me think of some recent articles I have seen about reimagining failing shopping malls as housing. An interesting   solution.

I remember, in an episode of Parts Unknown or No Reservations, Anthony Bourdain was visiting an extremely remote location where the entire village lived in one building.  I remember it as mall-like, with a shared indoor space that they used as a common area.  It must've been in a challenging climate.  They had some sort of festival, maybe to honor him, with dancing and eating and plenty of drinking.

I could have the details wrong – can anybody help me out here?

Yes, that was a 2012 episode of No Reservations shot in Malaysia. Living communally in close quarters in that traditional long house would have to either take a lot of respect for privacy or a very open attitude to the lack of privacy. I still miss Tony.

  19. Book Hoarders:

It's been quite a while since I've watched Hoarders - has the (so-called) background music always been this loud, intense and overly dramatic?

It overwhelmed the content and made trying to hear what was being said such a challenge I finally just watched the program on Closed Caption, something I rarely need to do on other sites.

  20. French Riviera.

A woman and her much younger longtime boyfriend searched for the perfect apartment. It was pretty clear that her higher budget would win over the far inland (but cheap) house with the endless steps. I found myself huffing and puffing for her.

Her new venture would involve expats but I didn't catch what it was.

I always get emails & flyers about cash buyers wanting to buy my house. It sounds so tempting but it also sounds too good to be true.

(Sorry for the double post) These offers are aimed at homeowners or heirs that do not have the funds to repair a home for a decent sale. The flipper's offer is usually a low as-is offer and his goal is to make a pretty decent profit after the reno.
