Not sure that is any more than a story. Apparently he couldn't have been too bad since she willingly sent her children to visit him.  I take anything that comes out of her mouth with a grain of salt.

Abuse to Robyn may have consisted of David Preston ranting..."buying jeans and pj's at Victoria's Secret??? WTF are you doing, we could not even afford a crib for the babies".

Gee Sobbyn lied again and got found out.  What a shock. 😀

I did love in one of the tell all episodes that she said that his being upset was not her problem anymore.

Dawn comes about every 24 hours. In Meri's case, it took 24 years.

    Better late than never.

I don't understand Meri's thinking. She should have mentioned that big glaring truth that Robyn wasn't showing up when they did make plans together. It goes against Meri saying that Robyn had her back, etc. I would have felt more sympathetic to her sooner. If she does write a book, I doubt we'd still get the real truth, just the one she wants to spin at the time.

If Meri had really been thinking, she could have used the truth as leverage against R&K at the time.

In my best Jack Nicholson voice...Meri Can't Handle the Truth.

Her ego would not permit her to acknowledge that she had been outright duped twice. First by cf then by Robyn.

Doesn't matter how naive she was, basic human instinct would have told her something was amiss. She chose to ignore that as she has difficulty admitting she is wrong about anything.

I think that's exactly it. Meri "found" and nurtured Robyn into the family, and gave up her position as legal wife so Kody could adopt Robyn's kids. And she obviously adores their children, at least the tenders. Christine and Janelle have six children each and most of those 12 kids are very close, so the two of them have a lot in common. Robyn only really cared about her own children.

Christine and Janelle didn't trust Robyn from the beginning and seeing Meri consistently supporting Robyn and Kody would have lumped Meri and Robyn together as separate from the Moms. Seeing how badly Kody treated Meri would have made me feel sorry for her - but not enough to overlook the Meri/Robyn connection.

We've noticed that anything said to Robyn or Kody gets repeated to the other one. Christine and Janelle would have noticed that too.

Aside from sharing the father of their children, I see nothing that the 3 OG's have in common.

I recall one incident where Meri and Christine appeared to be having a grand old time scampering about in a park. Other than that, Meri came across to me as a dragon lady to Janelle and Christine.

Nothing to reignite as there was never a spark in their relationship as far as I could see.

This is what came up when I googled her maiden name, maybe it's wrong?Screenshot_20240101_203438.thumb.jpg.a7d4562097c5ec3f9128464bace1efd4.jpg

That reads to me as though she had a second middle name. Her maiden name would have been Meri Caroline Davenport Barber.

I believe it is and they've stayed there often enough to be in one of those frequent visitor clubs.  The rooms are larger, look cleaner, and have no dust catchers.

Amenities such as a pool, elevator, dining room/coffee shop don't hurt either.

Plus, you don't have to make mindless chitchat with a stranger over breakfast.

I have stayed at a few BnB's and always with a sense of discomfort. They are not as soundproof as a hotel/motel and even watching TV made me concerned I may be disturbing others.

Daughter said they did get some good cinnamon buns, but four hours in a car with two sugar hyped kids wasn't worth it.

As I recall, before rice krispie treats, Meri tried selling cinnamon buns. Probably motivated by positive response to some that her BnB cook had made.

That would not have endeared her to the locals as it was the claim to fame of the diner in town.

Meri put her thinking cap on, came up with rice krispie treats and the rest is history.

I agree!  I have so many trees.  To get them all down would run well into tens of thousands of dollars.  I must deal with it though.  I’ve thought of getting a job at a tree company.  Lol

Next life I will be a cleaning lady. 2 independent persons $50. per hour each, cash under the table.  They use a Swiffer on the floors and don't touch windows or venetian blinds.

Cleaning services want $150. per person.

No doubt TLC didn't/doesn't want Meri to say anything other than "victim". If she had found a real person then, and actually left Kootie, I think his head would have exploded! He had her so much under his thumb it would never have occurred to him she would go so quickly. And that would have set the stampede to leave him going a lot sooner!  End of show much sooner...

Meri may have found an ideal person then if she had been more realistic in assessing what was going on with "Sam".  Did she really think a younger, handsome, multi millionaire was madly in love with her and ready to swoop her off to a life of luxury? Come On!!!

What did she think she was bringing to the table? Her intellect? Her status as a trophy wife? Her ability to interact with "Sam's" international business associates? Her wit and charm?

The whole saga read like a cheap bodice- ripper romance novel and Meri's ego was along for the ride.

Do none of these people know how to correctly pronounce the word feel?   It's feel...not fill.   I fill bad that none can pronounce feel correctly..lol!  Drives me nuts.   Also..I don't believe there is a more unlikable person on reality tv  than Kody Brown.  My wish for the New Year is no more Browns on tv...enough!

Just as irritating to me as hearing them drop the g's as in goin(g), comin(g).

Old school here, but teachers would have rapped our knuckles for this sloppy diction.  The only thing I can surmise is that this is acceptable regionally and the teachers were raised locally and it sounds fine to them

I just realized Kody embodies every cult-like religion with his words and actions.

It's like if anyone disagrees with Kody or says anything's about disliking polygamy, then they are labeled subversive (just like Scientology and Mormon, etc)

The way he simmered in anger, and then went cold while Christine and the kids were talking about his lack of love for Christine, is similar to being confronted by the church and then ostracized and shunned.

He was so furious with MacKeltie for even 'agreeing' with Christine, you can tell he's already determined he's going to start to shun her. Just as a cult would banish and shun anyone if they said anything or agreed with anything against the church (or in Kody's situation, against him.)

He is motivated by the Kult of Kody.

Robyn and Preston got a legal separation in 2007. Their divorce was finalized in 2009. I think the dance Meri and Kody met Robyn at was after her divorce (and she and Preston weren't living as man and wife for a couple of years prior).

Did something new come to light?

I have always assumed that the Robyn/Preston divorce was final when the encounter with Kody and or Meri occured.

Didn't Robyn's mom instruct her to get her scent out there?

"Meri Caroline Davenport"? Is that her maiden name?

Davenport is another name for sofa/couch/chesterfield.

Could this be an allusion to Meri sitting on her duff oblivious to her marriage collapsing around her for those many years?

Yeah that one really shows just how disgusting Kootie is! And so rude and disrespectful to say it about his own sons!

Not only rude and disrespectful of his sons, just think how the girlfriends and their respective families felt about such boorish crassness.

What were his accomplishments? What did Janelle do?

Gabe ranked in the top 10 people academically for his entire school, not just his grade level. He was also in line to become captain of the wrestling team his next school year.  Probably putting him in line for an academic as well as athletic scholarships for college or university.

Janelle initially dug in her heels and firmly said she would not ask Gabe to give this up.  Kody must have showed up at her house in a ponytail and tight shirt and pants and Janelle's resolve fell by the wayside.

I think it's one of two things either the color took a little unevenly or they did high and low lights deliberately. I don't think any sections were completely missed.  The reddish tone is all over.

It must be my screen, it shows a distinct difference of color evenly showing right below the part of her hair.

ITA.  Christine pretty much said that she'd stay if he kept with with his "marital duties".  I don't see her as the liberated woman that others do.

Same with Janelle.  She spelled out what he needed to do which he ignored.  Until then she had no intention of leaving.  And then she said that if he agreed to act his part, she'd go back.

This is all about his horrible behavior, not their courage and fortitude.

We saw where their priorities lay when Janelle bypassed Gabe's accomplishments in LV highschool after vowing that she would not and Christine wasn't motivated to leave after Kody's atrocious treatment of Ysabel re surgery.

  18. The low part seems to expose a section the colorist missed.

Not a fan of the messy "just tumbled out of bed" look.  Also, her "I've got a secret" expression irritates me but then, nearly everything she does bugs me. Not that she cares about how I feel though.

I remember the visit to his bio-dad being strongly implied. Also implied was  the fact that none of the Browns were there.

I believe the bio-dad lives(d) somewhere not real far from  Kody grew up? Could they have made a mini-vacation out of it? Could they have been on property they weren’t supposed to be on?

I think the implication came about when they tried to get bio dad to pay all or part of medical expenses.
