I enjoyed this season. Agree that time given is setting the bakers up for failure. That said, I think a lot of the fun is seeing how they pivot to try to get something under the dome.
One HUGE quibble, playing off JessDVD's comment about the interchangability of buttercream/frosting etc.: On the NYE ep with Jason Mantzoukas and his egg allergy, the bakers are told to use "royal icing." A standard ingredient in royal icing is egg white or meringue powder (made with egg white). I was terrified that Jason would have an allergic reaction.
