This was a formula 1 event maybe they didn’t want to spend the money on one and the man power to put it down and pull it up

Oh that organization has the money and handlers for that, I have worked with them before... loaded and well-organized

Thanks for the heads up. I'm scared to look up Natalie's account.

It's vile, I blocked her as she kept popping up in my feed and I don't want to see that crap

I assumed the change in auditions -- from having a completely open process in-person to selecting candidates via video and then having the judges see them in person -- was a modification for COVID and not a permanent change or anything they did for TV purposes or time. The old way of doing auditions involved a couple hundred candidates, plus the judges, staff and crew. That's a lot of people to try and get test results for and control. Seems much easier to narrow it down to a slightly larger training camp than in years past, test everyone, put them in a bigger space and get an episode that looks and feels sort of like an audition.

Tulip, I was able to purchase it on Amazon yesterday -- it's Season 16. I'm in the US, so it might be different if you're not.

Yeah, I'm in the Netherlands 🤷‍♀️

Kleine means "small one" in my native language, has a weird ring to me 🤷‍♀️

100% agree with this.  That said, such an interesting take, @DCC-UK!  Most of us are US based, so it's hard to picture what the perception of the NFL is in Europe.  I suspect Tom Brady is the face of the NFL internationally, and he's elitist AF.  He's kind of the face everywhere, but he's conventionally attractive, supermodel wife, a zillion Super Bowl rings, etc etc etc etc.  Who else are the popular/well known players?  My teams are Chiefs, Seahawks and Cowboys (in that order) and all three happen to have black quarterbacks, but that's definitely a more recent phenomenon.  And as much as I hated the way the Chiefs lost to the Buccs this year, I respect the heck out of their coach for his takes on coaching and training staff.

Hockey is the sport with the most barriers to entry in the US, from what I can tell.  Ice time, equipment, etc. and leans very, very white in all categories.

As far as DCC goes...not very many families can afford all the classes and training it takes to support what the current squad is demanding these days.  And like I've said in an earlier post, plenty of WOC have families that can fund these things, but there's a real class/race disparity issue in the US, and I suspect many of these women have better things to do with their time.  (Of the six women I know well that danced for various pro teams, three were WOC...all did it right after college and bailed after a year because they had other goals to achieve and demanding careers.  Two were from affluent families, one had working class immigrant parents.  But that was all in the early 2000's because I'm old now!)

From the Netherlands and here the Raiders were huuuge in the 90's and are still fairly well-known. The Patriots have gotten more popular recently due to the Superbowl wins, also meaning Tom Brady has gotten a ton of coverage. Other teams that I see more often are the Cowboys, Seahawks, Giants, 49ers and Saints.

I think what might have shaped a lot of opinions is that the mainstream news here only covers the Superbowl and the controversies: the NFL's treatment of Kaepernick and those taking a knee was on the evening news a lot. Only football fans will usually know more teams and players.

You only get two weeks paid holiday? In the UK, we're entitled to usually 5.6 weeks! However, most employers don't like it if you take off that time in one go. Taylor J is best friends with Kelli's daughter.

Yup same, lawful minimum here is 4 weeks paid leave, but most companies give at least 5. I've even worked places where they strongly advise to use at least 2 weeks in succesion each year as it's good to unwind.

it's been said before..but can someone please fire their media person? it's insanely sloppy. knowing how cheap the DC organization is (especially about the DCC) I wonder if they like outsource this internationally? might be an explanation for the sheer amount of mistakes like this, and the general sloppiness. at the very least we know nobody is checking it. "world class" 🙄

"International" doesn't mean the spelling is bad... I know plenty of Americans who can't spell, have awful grammar or don't bother to check. As a person who is "international" and writes for an American company I take offense at that...

    Retirement list

Maddie. 5 years is enough.  Time to go and experience life outside the DCC bubble that has occupied her entire adult life including the year she prepared for her comeback.  If she's holding on for Pro Bowl, my bet is her co-point is going to get that one.

Tess. a great 5 years, awesome kicks.  Time to move on.

Lexie. years on the Mavs and 4 years on DCC time to move on with her adult life.  She made show group and this year a leader so she's done well.  She's married and time to enjoy some nights with hubby instead of practice all the time.

Savannah- years with the jets and then DCC.  She is probably never going further than she's gone.  Great ambassador especially with the military but time to go forward.

Rachel A. Please do not go.  Personally I hope she stays another year and makes the team with her buddy Tori who I believed got robbed this year.  And they give Rachel A a leadership position which she deserved this year.  She would make a great person for appearances to speak.

Rachel W. Please stay.  Hope she makes point again and group leader.  As Melissa and Scott said, everyone loves her.

Gina-she's already said she's coming back.

Briana- Time to move on.  Her body is clearly aging and slowing down and although she has style and class 3 years DCC and then her time with the Titans time to go.  I know she was injured in the dance off but that was not her best at all.  I truly think trying to hold on in your 30's is just that trying to hold on.

Kristin.  read the handwriting on the wall move on.  Her posts now backpedaling after her blasting them for comments that I know I have heard worst was not a good look.

Alanna.  I'm on the fence but her engagement may cause her to leave and I think she's achieved all she can.

Jalyn- I would say she's gotten as far with them as she is going to go and move on.

Alora Rose. please do not come back.  You are Kelli's project and next year will not be as easy.  Please speak to Morgan and Meredith

Kat- either grow up and lose the ditziness because that is not attractive in an adult woman and dance better or leave.

Personally I hope we see 10 or more retirements so we can see girls move up and new girls make their dreams come true.

Agree with most of these except for Rachel W. She's definitely not loved by all and, though truly gorgeous, not the most magical dancer. Good, but not breathtaking like some others on the team. And her speaking isn't great either. And her opinions... but that's of course personal and YMMV

I think the Marissa and Lisa hate comes from people associating them to be friends of VK.

Nope. Don't really like either but didn't know they were friends with VK, are they?

Marissa's dance style is not my favorite, a little too s****** and punchy  also don't appreciate the "if you don't love her you need to be quiet approach" of her fanclub and the insipid TikToks.

Lisa's dancing is not my favorite either, not refined ( matter of personal taste I think).

I actually looked on Thursday which of the DCCs with public IGs posted anything related to the previous days’ events. Only Sydney, Darian, Ashlee, and Alora-Rose had any reference. Some DCCs have private IGs (Bri, Kelcey, etc.) so it is possible a few others could have posted.

Bless...I think every single pic in Brooke’s feed the past month has at least one set of faces squished together, sometimes six. And it’s just so jarring to see after this past year.  Serious DCC reunions going on in those pics, with one pause for attending live church.

I know a lot of people are just living life as they please right now, but you’d think they’d have the sense to not blast it all over social media, especially someone like Brooke who is somewhat of a public figure and a business owner. Sheesh 😬

Yeah I had to onfollow a bunch of people this past week over that kind of stuff. I mean... come on. Watch the news people! This thing ain't over!

I loved her! Her flexibility was amazing. She got cut her veteran year at finals in part because at the interview panel Brenda thought her pink dress with the cutouts at the waist was inappropriate. I’m not sure how they could think that since they dance around on national TV every Sunday wearing about a yard of fabric!

how much does the Rockettes pay? To me that seems more prestigious than being a DCC but I’m comparing apples to oranges. It’s just a shame DCC doesn’t pay more. Hopefully Alora-Rose knows what the pay is. Does anyone know why she left the Rockettes? Was it because of the pandemic? I have it in my head she was a Rockette a few year ago but I’m not sure.

I think she was only with the Rockettes for 1 season.
