Here's what I found about the "challenge accepted" trend.  Since this came from the internet 🤨 who knows what the "true" intent is until the person that originated speaks up.

    https://www.standard.co.uk/insider/alist/black-white-challenge-accepted-instagram-a4510516.html

A new viral Instagram challenge is encouraging women to share black and white selfies on their social media accounts.

The new trend, referred to as “Challenge Accepted” or the “Women Supporting Women Challenge,” invites women to share a simple black and white photo of themselves.

Already, celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Olivia Wilde and Naomi Watts have taken part.

But what is it about, exactly? Here's what you need to know...

    What is the #ChallengeAccepted trend?

In a bid to share positivity and encourage female empowerment during the challenging time of the pandemic, women have been posting black and white selfies and tagging their friends to do the same - often penning heartfelt captions about strength and solidarity.

A public relations and influencer marketing manager for social media marketing firm Later told the New York Times that the new trend may have been sparked by US Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, after she spoke out against sexist comments made against her by US Representative Ted Yoho.

The powerful video triggered a wave of posts about female empowerment and feminism, which some have suggested may have also sparked the new challenge.

Some connected the challenge to another intended to spread awareness of violence against women happening in Turkey. On Twitter, a post circulated claiming the challenge was started by Turkish women to raise awareness for femicide after the murder of Pınar Gültekin. However, others dispute this and say while women were sharing black and white photos, it was not as part of this challenge. Instead, the accompanying hashtags were said to translate to "say no to violence against women" and "enforce the Istanbul Treaty," which protects women's rights.

Typed a lenghty reply on the link of the challenge and the current issues in Turkey and the recent femicide wave connected to the Istanbul treaty not being upheld but I have a feeling the mods aren't looking for another political thread 😅.

My issue lies with the vapid nature of the use of some of their platforms. The MLMs, the self-serving pictures, the sponsored posts. Very few use their huge platform to focus attention on charity and causes.

  2. All the self-promoting is getting crazy. I saw quite a few of them also posted a black and white picture of themselves on Instagram while having no idea what that challenge was about. It's about women getting murdered in Turkey and that violence against women is rampant. As in, any woman could be the next black and white image in a newspaper next to the article about her murder. Not glamourshots of beautyqueens.

Sorry for the rant but this made me very angry.

DO NOT AGREE. Beg to differ. Kristin looks GrEaT.

By the way....What in hella do people see in Miss Erin the Average. Do people not remember her super embarrassing fall when dancing for the mentors her first year in TC? Like she was sooo awkward and WEAK. She looks like any girl off the street if you caked on tons of makeup.

Kristen has body, mind and spirit.

Wow, who peed in your coffee this morning? 😁

    They all look amazing!

Ah okay, I have no problem with her except that she looks kinda like a kid. But then again, I love Rachel W, which isn't  popular opinion on the forum either 😂😂

That has more to do with what she posted on Twitter way back regarding her politics, not her personality per se.

  6. Not a great rumba (more the choreo tbh) but if she gets the weight shifts right it might be decent. Ballroom is nothing like lyrical though... and I've done both for decades!

Hello everyone, longtime lurker (If you count knowing about this forum for almost a year) first time poster lol. 22 year old guy from the Netherlands. The past weeks I read through all the pages of the 2018 and 2019 season. (yes all 700 pages) I am looking forward to share my opinions and etc.

    - The 2019 season will finally be on TV in a few weeks here so I am excited to finally watch it fully.

    - First season I saw was the 2012 season and I fell in love with Danielle hihi.

Some of my favourite cheereaders are Danielle, Jordan, Emma, Lacey, Rachel W, Melissa W, Holly Hubbard, Whitney Isleib, KaShara, Alexis, Kinzie (a very underrated DCC) and many more that I forgot to add.

I will apologize in advance if my posts aren't perfectly English as it is not my native language 😀

Amy T is one of the few DCC I follow on Insta, and this super fun pic popped up today! Maybe because I tagged myself in the same place a couple years ago...so jealous! She says in the comments that she currently lives in Europe, and on her profile I spy a German flag. Curious what she’s doing! Aside from traveling across an area that took Covid seriously and has cases low enough to allow travel again. Sigh.

She seems to be living in Munich, a large and beautiful city in Bavaria with a bunch of biotech companies that would suit her field of studies. From what I gather she works in that field currently. Good on her, that's a field that helps so many people and one of the most progressive biotech environments in the world.

And yes, regions and borders here have opened somewhat due to the current low numbers of infections and mass testing. I'm across the border in the Netherlands and we can now cautiously travel across most of Europe. A lot of people choose to stay closer to home for the summer though, me included! Although I might hop across the border to Germany since that's closer than the nearest Dutch town 😄

How is everyone doing during during this quarantine time ?

Good, the introvert side if me is just happy to not have too many social plans. Working from home has been fine, though starting a new job was strange as you don't really meet anyone. We're fortunate to both have jobs, a tiny (but nice) appartment with a balcony so we can go outside, and plenty of contact with friends and family. Just very worried about my parents getting sick.

So I took Jenn’s prep class tonight for fun (yes, no video on my side, I’m just doing it for fitness and no one needs to watch me die by power pom). My Apple Watch says I burned 500 calories. We even did semis kickline. Holy cow....y’all. SO. HARD. BUT! It was so fun! She gave the dancers really great audition advice and helpful critiques. Like I said, I almost died in this class but she said her in person classes are harder. I used to dance for 20 years and I am totally totally blown away by the stamina to be a pro dancer. Holy cow.

For those of you who are stir crazy, wanna do a little dance and pretend to be pro, definitely try a class! I’m going to have a glass of wine now.

Oooh so cool! Always wanted to try one but due to the time difference I would be doing kickline at 02.30 in the morning 😂

This literally makes me physically ill.

I don't care that others will be featured.  I am beyond over TPTB's favoritism and featuring of Vic.

I saw...that's just stupid. They've never done a special on a current cheerleader. I guess they have plenty of footage of her as they used it for their indoctrination campaign the past 2 years... Yeah, I'll skip that one.

Again, no issue with Victoria as a person (though the lies were heinous) my issue lies with the preferential treatment

Ugh, mine never recovered!  I have to draw mine on now.  I actually like that fuller brows are more popular now, I think that they make your face more expressive.

I think the vast majority of the girls look better with little/no makeup.  Miranda is another one that looks so pretty, she could pass for 10 years younger without all the makeup.

Same! Love the fuller brows and the natural mske up they do in their off time. But I have to say I picked up some good pointers from Kat's tutorial. Usually I go for a more natural look but sometimes I do go all-out. What I still need to know is how they keep it from smudging after 4 hours of dancing! My setting spray does not work that well 🤷‍♀️

I’m always glad to hear that people (outside of the US) are able to watch the show. Are you able to watch all seasons?

I live in Houston. We have the largest amount of corona virus cases in Texas. We are expected to ‘peak’ around the end of April/beginning of May. I’m thinking we will be quarantined for 4-6 weeks after that. However, TPTB (Houston) have hinted that the virus may rear its ugly head (again)in the fall....and, we may end up in quarantine once again. They are also talking of giving every person in America an antibody test to see if we have had the virus or if we have an immunity to the virus. This test will determine who will be able to go back to work. Don’t know when this test will be given.

Trump is hoping we will have a NFL football season this fall....but, right now, it’s really up in the air!

All the best to you and those working the front lines in Houston! Our government predicts the same if, and only if, we all stay inside. Usually Dutch spring weather makes people want to stay in anyway but we've had two hot and sunny weeks so a lot of people decided that BBQing with their entire family trumps public health...

I usually rely on online streams for the show as it's not broadcast often. CMT website is blocked here and Amazon Prime doesn't have the show, neither does Pluto TV. I generally binge when in the US 😅

Exactly, a lot of workplaces have said a 3 month lockdown so we're talking mid-June at the earliest! I'm glad I have a blog and a few hobbies to get on with so I'm quite thankful of some time off.

If people stay at home and do as they're told, we'll get through it quicker. If they continue to go out and host parties, we'll be here until Christmas!

Stay safe! And... same here (Netherlands) most people are inside and working from home while a handful still parties. Idiots. It will take a long while to pass but if that saves many lives it would be fully worth it! I'm starting a new job in three weeks, until then I'm at home blogging and reading. And catching up on DCC reruns.

I'm curious to see how they will approach this if it goes over intro training camp. But if training camp is an issue then so is what they cheer for... the NFL itself 🤷‍♀️

Doesn't TC begin in early June?  We're talking almost 2 months from now, for all we know things could be more back to normal by then.

Here (Europe) we were told not to make any vacation plans for summer 😔

In the US? Hadn't heard that.  I live alone and my Mom lives alone.  I've been spending a few hrs a day over at my Mom's since this started and also going to the grocery for her and me and the same time.  I had to move back in temporarily with her last year when I broke my arm and by the time I was well enough to be able to move back home lets just say that things btwn us weren't "pretty" (they've improved a LOT now).

    Nah, I'm in Europe
