There are countless examples of manufactured drama.
The Malena storyline was always mind boggling to me. Kelli and Judy go on constantly about the amount of choreography required to be a DCC — specifically how it’s more than any other NFL cheerleading squad. They talk about the utmost importance of learning quickly. Then you take a young lady into training cap that was cut from a lesser team for *not remembering choreography.* Like, what???

I mentioned this in a recent post as well. Maybe Christina had always been considering it. I come from the small chest land myself and can relate. But if some one said I had ‘no figure’ on national television, there’s no way it wouldn’t influence my decision.

ETA: Didn't see the replies from others until after I wrote my reply. But, yeah LOLOh my gosh. I went back and watched. You’re right! That’s crazy to me. Considering how revered she was I’m shocked she was bypassed her first time. Also noticed blonde SG Hannah in season 7 as well.

Melissa Wallace is one that stands out to me that was on SG her rookie year after being denied entry to Training Camp when she first tried out.Are you positive about Melissa Wallace trying out previously? I never saw her face before season 9 (her rookie year). Everyone was so obsessed with her I can’t imagine how she’d be overlooked initially.

Maddie was the same way! Cut one year and on SG the next. I adored Tori last year. My theory is she was cut for flexibility/kicks. Her extension just wasn’t as strong as some of the other ladies. If she worked on that even a little in the off season I can totally see why she made SG this year. Team Tori.

I get wanting to be the best (physically) that you can possibly be. But how she looks now just isn’t natural looking. So every comment about “maybe she is just that thin” doesn’t make sense. Especially since we see old pictures of Gina looking healthy and toned from only 2-3 years ago. Almost no one looks like that naturalIy. They look like that through hard work and strict diets (and most that I know that follow that regimen are doing fitness model competitions, but they aren’t like that all of the time, just when they are training to compete). I do think Gina works her ass off to get that sinewy, hard look, and her dedication is admirable.
The problem is that, in my opinion, it just doesn’t look attractive. I’d much rather watch Lexie, Ashlee, or Amber.
Gina’s figure was amazing her rookie year! I remember her uniform fitting specifically Kelli complimented her ‘shelf’ (ie adorable butt in the uniform) and Gina commented she did a lot of squats to get it there. I guess I’m just confused why she felt compelled to alter her physique so much, but I can imagine being around a bunch of stick figure girls 24/7 could potentially warp your confidence.
I also remember her coming back her second year much thinner and Charlotte said ‘she looks amazing.’ I wonder if that encouraged her in the wrong direction, kinda like how Christina got her breasts done right after Kelli said she had ‘no figure’ on national television.
I’m proud of Gina’s character and her getting point. Her performance level is so fun to watch. But like everyone else I hope things behind the scenes are okay mental health wise.
I always lose weight after a break up, and I believe she had that happen in the last year as well. Sending good vibes her way.

I know Kelsey isn’t a very technical dancer and struggled with her memory sometimes, but damn is she beautiful. I thought she had great style and pop similar to Kat. I don’t have any insight on her retirement but I believe at that time she was getting married and thought she was ready for the next chapter of her life, but then really missed performing. It’s not uncommon. I actually really hope she tries again. I just love looking at her! She looked top tier in all of Jenn’s classes this past year.
Agree on the Katelynn commentary as well (unsure if I spelled her name correctly). She was a great dancer with exceptional kicks. Just needed a new haircut. So ridiculous to me.

Yes, but Kelli has repeatedly stated how important locker room likability is. Madeline, Gina and others have been called into the office for this previously. I’m surprised she wouldn’t view it as a substantial red flag that not a single GL endorsed Lisa despite being a stellar dancer in my opinion. It’s not so much about lack of stickers per say. Just lack of teammate support.

Fellow cat lover here! I also followed Alora on Insta for her cute cat updates. I'm a Kat fan as well. She warmed my heart when she said she'd rather be homeless than give up her cat -- SAME GIRL SAME. Yes she's not the most technical, but she has TONS of pop and always maintains a positive attitude :)

I'm going to miss Alora Rose. She really convinced me in the last episode of the season, both in the earlier dance portion and the 'callbacks.' She also looked great in Jenn's classes posted on Instagram in recent months. Was looking forward to seeing her return a stronger performer. Wish her all the best.

To me her natural style exceeds some one like a Meredith or Lily easily, but I was fans of theirs as well.

Random side note, Dani is beautiful, powerful and a solid technical dancer from the brief portion of her solo aired. I hope she makes SG next year.

I love that a 54 y.o. guy enjoys this show enough to be on the forums! I watch with my dad on occasion who is a few years older than you and we’ve had a lot of fun with it. He knows zero about dance but Maddie was his favorite. I even bought him a sideline calendar as a funny Christmas gift this year. Thanks for sharing :)

I will say this. Gina is most definitely thinner now than she was her rookie year. Go back and watch her rookie season if you disagree. However, the girl seems to have a very active workout schedule and maybe just cleaned up her diet some after college. I hate to speculate on EDs because such a sensitive topic. She’s absolutely an A++ top tier performer and I hope all is well behind the scenes!
I also think she got a bad edit her rookie year. I admit I deemed her arrogant and feel guilty about that because she has seemed so humble and positive towards her teammates in all the later seasons. Love to Gina!

Why do Kelli/Judy hate Sheridan? Rewatching Season 11 and she's very good with limited mistakes -- nothing concrete as far as cut reasons go. Then cut again this year once being invited into training camp? After further dance experience with the Dallas Mavericks? She's tall and gorgeous with great technique/excellent kicks because she is a former Rangerette. I'm confused. Someone solve the mystery for me 🙂
