    S20.E07: Fashion, Inside Out

    Christian tells Brittany in maybe the second episode he doesn’t want to use his save on her again this season and I think maybe Fabio said so there is a save and Christian said there’s always a Siriano save.  So I think there’s a save just no immunity this season.

     

    Korto really gets on my nerves this season.  I don’t remember disliking liking her before, but I don’t remember a lot of her season before.  I wish there was more consistency in the quality of models.  I feel like Mimi is a great model to have some of the others not so much..  Bischeme and Rami are so adorable together! I wish they showed more of them each episode.

    Over 100 posts and nobody has mentioned the inappropriate behavior by many of the contestants, Christian, and Elaine towards the male models. It has always heartened me to see that the straight male contestants on this show have always acted professionally towards the models. I can't recall even a single instance of an inappropriate remark or look or behavior. But man did they reverse that trend in this episode. So many instances of contestants saying "I LOVE male model day". (Gross). All the weird ogles and fanning themselves in overexertion. Even Elaine on the runway wondering why Laurence (I think) chose to cover up that dude's abs. 

    YES! I hate the way they always treat the male models like a piece of meat, it’s disgusting.  If it was reverse, people on the show would be outraged.  There was one male designer who did say talk about his lady model in an unprofessional/creepy imo way in one of the early seasons, but other than that I don’t recall anyone else commenting on their women models in a pervy  way.

     

    I think Rami’s outfit was the best.  I also liked Kara Sauna’s but don’t see how the story relates to the  outfit.  If it did she should have explained it better in the episode otherwise it comes off as exploitive.  I don’t like most of Fabio’s fashions, but he seems like a very nice person. It’s the aesthetic I don’t care for not his workmanship.

    I wonder if Kody sees Robyn’s kids as their actual age.  She seemingly has infantilize all of them.  I don’t remember how old the tender-aged children are but Robyn treats them like they’re 2.

    I don’t know if I believe any of that somebody posted a picture online recently of Robyn and Kody together recently at a festival.  Robyn managed to look somehow even frumpier than normal and Kody looked short (no long-legged VS jeEns for him).  Kody and Robyn might push a “fighting” angle at some point because what else do they have?  They don’t allow them to film at Robyn’s, nobody but maybe mykelti likes them, what’s left?  We can only have so many bus stop heart-to-heart talks with little Amtrak talking about which first grader lost “her man” 😂

    Zach and Tori

    Does anybody know what exactly Tori is jabbering about?  What happened in Texas that was heavy and frustrating?  I thought they were having fun at the LP conference.   Did Amy forget to tell Tori to hang out at the pool so she could have fun and discover she too was a LP?
     

    Seriously though, did something happen or is it just Tori being Tori?

    I can see maybe why the designers were upset if they felt like they should have been in the top or even if they thought the judging was bad then be mad at the judges but I don’t see why they’re were faulting Ana for the judges’ decision.  I mean if they were on top but didn’t think their outfits were very good would they volunteer to be in the bottom?  
     

    Do they hate Ana for some other reason than being repetitive?  I mean she seems like she could be exhausting but no more so than Hester or Kayne.

    Thank you…that’s sad.  I never really cared for Mondo I thought he could be rude sometimes.  I don’t even remember who Anya is, was she the one that couldn’t sew? The only time I didn’t care for Tim on PR was when he called that one model a marshmallow or something of the sort. I thought that kinda rude.  I do liked that kinda of lead designers to think for themselves whereas Christian sometimes seems like he is telling people exactly what to do although in his defense I don’t know if they’d be able to come up with these things on their own.  Maybe it’s because Tim was a teacher and Christian is a designer so it’s just a different viewpoint on mentoring.

    On a side note, I always wondered if Tim got a bonus for mentioning year after year without bursting into laughter that this was his “favorite season and the designers were the MOST talented”. 😊

    • Yay!!! Hester is gone!
    • Kayne and Korto are a couple of ding-dongs.  They’re all repetitive, why signal out Anna?  I mean they acted like this woman kicked their puppy or something.  Plus Christian was running around telling everyone do what you’re  known for.  Anna is known for these ruffle ball weird dresses apparently.  
    • Rami and Kara were respectable and I’m glad they spoke.

     

    I binge watched all the seasons and I know Kayne was on a long time ago and he said he got new hair but does his face look “odd” because he got some sort of plastic surgery or is it just weight gain, too much make up, and because  it’s years later?   (not sure odd is the right  descriptor to use, it’s more than just different though) I mean Kara and Rami got older and Rami put on a little weight but neither of them look “odd” to me.

     

    ETA: Elaine is an idiot 🙄

    Well, these are the ding-dongs that run their kid into a tree and laugh almost every time Lilah’s falls, so it’s not surprising.  Even when the kids are in their car seats, half the time they don’t look belted in correctly.  

    I would blame it on how Zach grew up (Matt and Amy didn’t seem to know what the hell they were doing in regards to safety imo) but it seems like Tori is the boss.  I guess she’s too busy thinking about Zach’s “hot bod” and what Jackson is going to “own” next 🙄

    Not to be nosy, but to be nosy 😊 Was there anything at all that you liked about the book? (If you feel comfortable answering, if you don’t I understand)

    I had a similar experience, one of the ladies in my book group wrote a “memoir”.   It was pretty awful.   My grammar is not the best and sometimes things get lost in translation, but I ended up telling her she painted a really vivid picture and it was like I was right there with her.  

    Of course this was because she included exciting details like complete shopping lists, multiple descriptions of routine stains on her laundry, and play-by-play on various trips to the car wash.  I don’t even know how she got this thing “published”.  I feel like she might have paid someone to print it because the library never heard of it.  

    Sadly, the month we were suppose to discuss the book only 1 other person besides me and the author showed up so it was a very LONG evening. 
     

    On a somewhat related note, I always wondered what inspires “non-writers” (I’m assuming neither of these ladies had a background in writing) to decide to jump into book writing.

    I’m pretty sure both Gwen and Paedon were at Logan’s wedding.

    I think Christine’s public image  has “benefited” to a certain extent from Kody and Robyn acting like trash and I still side eye her mlm scams  opportunities, but I do hope she’s found a good guy in David.  I hope she has the type of marriage she always wanted.

    I understand her hanging around with her father.  When my mom passed when I was 42 my dad and I got closer and it was something we both needed to get through those first couple of years.  

    As far as the show goes, I keep reading online that Whitney herself has said somewhere that the show has been filming.  TLC never announces renewal until the last minute and the show usually comes back in August every year so it looks like it's likely to do that again.  It looks like it might actually be an interesting season considering she has indeed lost weight.  For that alone and for seeing how she and her family cope with the loss of her mom, I'm in.  

    Her pics don’t seem as photoshopped as before so for her sake I hope the weight loss is real. Maybe if she did lose weight it will motivate her to do more things on the show instead of blabbering about Le Blur, but she still as far as I know has a horrific personality.

    It seems like she is down a lot or lacks self confidence, but it seems she is getting back into performing in theater so I hope it helps with that.  His exes seem like losers, so if she is dating I hope this guy treats her right and he doesn’t make any appearances on the show.
