  1. In case no one has mentioned it (yes, that's right. I did not dig thru the comments. I'm too lazy.) - the new season starts Sept 7th. One new episode a day instead of the usual 2 to start the season.

Still on the fence about whether I care, but... Now if they paired the new one with a rerun from the first 10 years, I would be all in.

ETA- Apparently, I have jumped the gun. No new episodes are listed on the Spectrum guide for the week of the 7th. I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

I dunno - she said she didn't even ever want to look at the ocean. let alone get in it. That's a phobia that needs therapy.

But remember, that little hill in front of the 3rd condo was magical and would save her from any tsunami.

Isn't her living in the condo with the peek-a-boo view of the ocean rather like a kid who covers his eyes and thinks because he can't see you, you can't see him? Does that stop tsunamis as well as that hill?

This true life story featured in this documentary really takes the prize for the most bizarre reaction of parents towards their adult son who brutally murdered their adult daughter.   After many lies and denials he finally admits that he did it ONLY it was an accident......he just can’t explain how he shot her FIVE times.  Who knew prisons allow first degree murders to spend the weekends fellowshipping with their families on prison grounds. Really crazy stuff.

What the heck was that?  Don't think I would be socializing with him. Is it a guilty parent thing? Doing a little research, he also planned to kill his parents and yet, there they are - ready to fire up the grill and listen to whatever dumb excuse he has to offer on the day.

He also was allowed to leave prison to go to his father's internment and grandmother's and father's funerals. Didn't he kind of lose those rights when he started eliminating family members?

This article touches on why he did it.

On a lighter note - Happy birthday to Schnickelfritz Jr. Now don't make me (NOT) visit you in prison.

Did anyone watch The Lying King the other night? It was about a con artist/child molester who came from England and honestly, he looked looked actually liked you would expect a perv to look like.

I had seen another show on him on ID last year (episode on The Lies that Bind) but this show really delved into everything and yet I have a suspicion that they barely scratched the surface of his malfeasance. That story was so convoluted that you needed a score card to keep track of the players. My heart broke for Matthew. He was doomed from the first day he met Scott Rogers.  I'm glad that "Ian" (not sure if that is his real name as he was identified as Stewart in the book)  escaped and the other 2 boys were removed.

I've been watching "Cruise Ship Killers" on the Justice channel.  I'm surprised at how many people disappear on cruises and how little is done by the cruiselines.  They told one family that maybe a "rogue wave" swept her out to sea, although no one else noticed this rogue wave.  No real investigation and no body makes it attractive for would-be killers.

I can't believe there are so many of this incidences. Enough for a long season. That, along with Norovirus and Covid have definitely dulled my enthusiasm for sharing a trip, trapped on the ocean, with 6,000 of my closest friends.

  6. My  biggest heartburn with this show is that they don't seem to help. You know in your heart that the hoarders involved almost certainly went right back to hoarding.

Anyone ever see the British show, The Hoarder Next Door? The doctor on it, Stelios Kiosses always seemed to get good results. For starters, the show did not come in with dumpsters right away and force the issue. He seemed to actually treat the patient and got them to start clearing the hoard then the show would step in. It was a long process (weeks) and he used different techniques tailored to the patient.  You got the sense that they were well on their way to recovery. Probably just as big of a lie as most reality tv but at least it gave you hope. This show is just designed to give you angina.

Gilda Radner's episode was heartbreaking.  It is too common for doctors to tell a woman that it's "all in your head" or "it's hormones", particularly when they can't find the cause.  She had signs of ovarian cancer for nearly 2 years before anyone took her seriously.  Unfortunately by then it was stage 3.  Hearing her voice as she recounted her journey was beautiful but sad.  42 is ridiculously young to die.

It was even more ridiculous considering how many close family members had had cancer. The number of people who let her down is pretty staggering. Just a guess, she cracked jokes (or was otherwise jovial) because of her nervousness and that went toward them not taking the situation as seriously. There is a reason that they call it the art of medicine and that doctors 'practice'. Too many humans involved.

I use several Jessica gifs frequently but this one is my favorite, I think she’s trying to get info from a guy at the bar in it

What a great gif! Just watched that episode the other day. She's at the bar trying to find Auggie (the bookie) to make a bet on Potato Pancake.

I LOVE when she goes into characters. Drunk on "My Johnny Lies Over the Ocean", Mrs. Christina Chesterton in "Smooth Operators", Marguerite Canfield in "Widow Weep for Me".  The list is long and wonderful.

Houston wife:  I watch a ton of reality TV yet I couldn't place her.  I was also so shocked to see her overly tweezed pencil thin eyebrows that I double checked to episode description to make sure it wasn't a re-run.  Agree that something was off in their interactions.

Just a guess, but is she Natalie Reeves from Beauty and the Geek?

So much yes! I was side-eyeing their interaction the whole time. It came across as nerdy guy who got his trophy wife and he was in charge, in a totally creepy way. I was completely unsurprised they bought the within-price house he liked best.  All she had to offer to the conversation was "I want a pool" and "I walk around naked".

This made me think of her...

  10. Mr Schnickelfritz and I really enjoyed Accused: Guilty or Innocent... until the 2 part season ender (Jason Carter accused of murdering his mother in Iowa). The minute (and I do mean the minute) we saw the lead investigator Agent Ludwick of the IDCI and his description of listening to the 9-11 call, we knew he was an  issue. Mr S lasted all of 15 minutes  into the first episode before giving up. I stayed with it and gave updates as misery loves company.

In following up, there were tons of things the show didn't even touch on. The civil suit filed and won by  his father. Ludwick asking other investigators be removed from the case when they didn't agree with his conclusions. 2 of the other suspects named by informants being in jail after the murder and one supposedly confessing on a phone call from the jail.

Here's an article that does a great job of consolidating the facts.

    https://marioncountytribune.com/2020/04/01/was-shirley-carters-murder-properly-investigated/

And anyone who was annoyed as I was after watching those episodes will be glad to know that Jason has filed 2 lawsuits (one federal and one state) against the state and Ludwick.

Just quick aside. In the episode as they showed everyone reentering the courtroom after the verdict had been reached in only 2 hours, did anyone else hear Ludwick talking to the deputies and instructing them as to who would be handcuffing Jason? Truly delusional.

    ->->->->->End of rant

There is a change.org petition to bring LivePD back. Not sure what the petitions even do, I see them for anything. I miss the show.

Just doing a search on their site pulled up 12 on the 1st 2 pages of results. Consolidate,  people!

He is on tape telling the cop he had congestive heart failure. So had they listened and not tazed him he wouldn't have died.

Because no drug addict/ criminal has ever lied to the police??? He wasn't very concerned about his own health if he was on meth and fentanyl.

I must confess to not doing Facetime.  BUT . . . if HIS phone is cracked, wouldn't SHE looked cracked on his phone, but his camera (if it's working) would pick up his face and transmit it looking pristine, wouldn't it?

Do not confuse his well thought out story with a little thing like THE FACTS.

I think one reason JJ ruled against the overpaying-dad was that the amount he paid was so low.  $180 a month for regular child support and $224 when mom had to pay for child care.  She said a few times that you couldn't feed a hummingbird on $180 a month.

I thought it was reduced BY $180 per month. Not knocked down to $180. Too bad I  erased the  show. I double checked as I thought I read it that way, but JJ for the first half kept saying he was only paying $180. They could only knock down the amount by 20% to try to rectify the mistake. Anyone read the  paperwork???

I think he was paying child support until he made bad business decisions and went for disability. Now his child support comes out of that. Maybe they were saying they could only take 20% of that. I was confused as poor Byrd by the end of it. Didn't like either parent.
